and we all read the HP book before we saw the movie...

they may not end up as a couple, but they do share a deep love... which has love,friendship,freeness,and loyality

I don't know.. When I was reading it, I always thought it would be Harry and Hermione together eventually... I guess I always wanted those two together!

However I think the most amazing twist would have been if Malfoy and Hermione went together because it would truly show that good won over evil...

In the books, Harry and Hermione don't really have 'spark'. Harry never shows any sort of stomach-churning reactions or anything when Hermione hugs him/kisses him on the cheek.
He doesn't seem to mind if Hermione has a crush on Lockart or goes out with Krum.
About defending her to Cho, well if you look at it, he defended Ron as well. And we aren't pairing Ron with him, right?

And yes I will always say Harry and Hermione do have a very deep bond. It's just, in the books, I never saw them happening as a couple. Maybe it's just me.

same here. from second book onward i always wanted ron-hermoine together. Harry and hermoine as besties were gud for me not as lovers. the original pairs made by rowling are too perfect. i never find any fault there.
