Hello all. M sorry m late. My exams were going on n even after constantly trying, I couldn't spare time for posting the next chapters. So this week we'll have two updates before our usual dose of weekend n I'll try to make sure that there is no delay this time. I apologize for not informing u all about the delay.

This chapter is in two parts. Part A is more or less a filler. But the details r required to make it understandable. I tried to make it short but couldn't as after exams, my mind is not working for now. Just give me some time. Part B is the one containing the bet sequence. So u may skip this one if u feel that u don't want to read any non Arshi update. The only thing material in Part A is that Khushi will b handling a deal in Australia while Arnav will b signing another one in Canada. For the details, please read the whole update. Sorry for disappointing u.

Chapter 54-A

A month before Arnav - Khushi's wedding

Things were going on smoothly. Arnav had still not said anything about what he would b asking from Khushi. Khushi had almost forgotten about the bet. The wedded couples had settled in their new lives. Things were moving in a very nice way. The families were excited about the impending wedding as this was the occasion everyone was waiting for. They had seen Arnav n Khushi suffer a lot due to all the misunderstandings in the past n as the couple was finally getting their much deserved happiness, every person was praying to God to keep the couple away from any evil eye now.

There were still exactly four weeks for the wedding, i.e. there were still three weeks for the engagement. Arnav was trying his best to complete all his works so that he could have free time for all the wedding rituals. He knew that the rituals were very important for Khushi. He might have ignored all the drama if it had been about him alone but he wanted to give Khushi her dream wedding. So he had agreed to put up with all the rituals which he had hated throughout his life.

Things were going quite well until one day there was an emergency. Arnav had a meeting scheduled with a very important client in Canada. This meeting was finalized weeks ago n there was no way any change could b made or else AR would either have to bear huge loss due to cancellation of the deal or they would have to postpone the meeting after 6 months which was not a pleasant situation as well. On the other hand, they had another deal which required Arnav's attention in Australia n he couldn't ignore that either. Mamaji was already in US. Akash was dealing with Singapore clients. There was no way they could handle another project.

It was a Sunday. Arnav was stressed. He had to leave for Canada late night. The meeting was on Wednesday. He was trying to figure out how he would handle both the projects at the same time which required his presence at two different places. Had there been even two days gap, he would have travelled between the two locations but Canadian deal had to b signed by him while the Australian deal had to b discussed in a meeting on Wednesday itself. As these were very important projects, they couldn't b discussed on a video conference or phone call, nor could they b delegated to someone else.

Arnav's Cabin

Khushi entered the cabin n saw Arnav resting his head at the back of his chair n rubbing his temple, worry lines clearly evident on his forehead. Although it was a Sunday, they were working on very crucial projects n so they had come to AR to complete all the work before Arnav left the next day.

Khushi (concerned): What happened Arnav?? U r stressed.

She came closer n moving his hands out of the way, quietly sat in his lap n started massaging his forehead. Arnav smiled at this gesture of hers. Trust Khushi to make a bold move when u least expect her to. This was the girl who would blush furiously even at his simple gesture of holding her hand, and here she was sitting in his lap without any care of the world. Arnav wrapped his arms around her tiny waist n buried his face in the crook of her neck. He didn't want to go away from her for even a moment n here he had a whole week scheduled away from her. Khushi held him close, ruffling his hair, waiting for him to say something. There was silence for some time, a comforting silence.

Arnav (still holding her the same way): I don't want to go.

Khushi (smiling): U can't postpone this one. No options Mr. Raizada.

Arnav: When u have two options n both r equally good, it's too hard to choose one of them.

Khushi (confused): Matlab?? Which two options??

Arnav: The Australian deal cannot b postponed. N we have not even presented our first idea to them yet. On the other hand, the Canadian deal is almost final. I just need to go n have a brief meeting with the client n after the final discussion, we'll sign the deal. I don't want to lose any of the projects but I can't b present at both the places. The Australian client Ms. Smith won't b available after this week for next few months as she's getting married. There's no one who can handle the first meeting on Wednesday. The second meeting is scheduled on Friday n I can easily reach by then. But the Wednesday's meeting is clashing with the Canadian meeting. I guess we'll have to drop the Australian deal. May b we'll get a chance again some other time.

Khushi (hesitantly): If it's so important, can I handle it??

Arnav (facing her seriously): What??

Khushi (a bit confident): I mean that if this deal is so important n u can't make it on time for the Wednesday's meeting, then I can go on ur behalf. I'll give the first presentation n discuss all that is required. Then I'll tell u all about it on call n u can guide me if u think there's any need. Then u can come on Friday n finalize the deal.

Arnav (not very sure): But Khushi, r u sure u'll b able to handle it?? U have never done any project individually till now.

Khushi (standing up and hands on hips - annoyed): R u doubting my capabilities??

Arnav (trying to do some damage control): No no. Not at all. I don't doubt ur capabilities. It's just that... (sighs) Come, sit. (taking her hands in his) If we ask them that we can't do the meeting so suddenly, they will understand that there must b something else on our schedule n we might get another chance to work together in future. But if this meeting is screwed, we'll lose their trust n there's no chance that they'll ever work with us in future too. That is why m not sure if u should go ahead with it or not. Moreover, u r not even prepared for the meeting.

Khushi: Trust me Arnav. I'll manage. If m not able to crack the deal, I'll handle it till u reach Australia n take over. So relax. N as for the preparation, we still have two more days. It will b done. We'll get both the projects. Don't worry.

Arnav: Fine. Gud luck. N by the way, u r not going alone. Ask Princess to go with u. She has been there many times, she knows the area. I'll b less worried if she's with u.

Khushi (annoyed): Ok fine. Laad Governor!! (muttering to herself) What does he think of me?? A baby??

Arnav: I heard that Khushi.

Khsuhi: Gud for u.

Arnav: U r leaving tonight. I'll arrange everything. Pack ur bags.

Khushi left n Arnav called Aman to make preparations for the trip. There was so less time n so many things to do. He had not planned it like this but well, if he's getting a chance on a silver platter, he's not a fool to let it go. U r in for a huge surprise Ms. Gupta, soon to b Mrs. Raizada.

Same Night (2.00 am)

Arnav, Khushi, Sonam & Aman were at the IGI Airport waiting for their flight. They still had over one hour for their respective flights. Khushi was excited about her first ever flight n she couldn't sleep at all. She was excitedly watching everything n everyone on the airport, noticing people busy in their own activities. Arnav was amused watching her curious about such a simple thing. He was least bothered about what Aman was discussing with him. Sonam was sulking as she was dragged by Khushi to accompany her without any prior plan. She was sleepy n was having a nap on her favorite jiju's shoulder but was being disturbed again n again by a very excited Khushi.

Sonam (whispering): Jiju tell Dii to let me sleep. M tired.

Arnav (whispering back): It's ok Princess. U may sleep during the flight. Khushi is not going to leave u alone till then anyways.

When she couldn't take it anymore, Khushi dragged Sonam to have a walk around the airport. Arnav smiled n nodded them to go ahead. Sonam gave Arnav an annoyed look n went along with Khushi.

By the time they came back, it was time to board the flight.

Arnav (to Khushi): Alright now. I'll see u on Thursday. Just take care of everything till then.

Khushi: Don't worry. I'll manage. Just take care. N don't u dare forget ur medicines.

Arnav (smiling): I won't. (to Sonam) Take care Princess. N sleep well.

Sonam: U too take care. Gud night.

She left them alone to say their goodbyes. Aman had already left to board the plane.

Arnav: I don't feel like letting u go alone.

Khushi: U'll b coming on Thursday. It's hardly a matter of these three days.

Arnav (hugging her): I'll miss u.

Khushi (returning the hug): I love u. N I'll miss u too. Come soon.

Arnav: I will.

They left to board their flights, already waiting for these days of separation to b over.

Canada - Toronto

Arnav reached his hotel at night. It was a tiring journey. He was already missing Khushi. So he called her n after getting an assurance that she had reached safely n is completely fine in the new setup, he felt relieved. They talked for some time. He talked to Sonam too n after completing the call, he called Anjali to let her know that he had reached safely. He had a good night sleep due to tiredness that night.

Arnav n Aman discussed the deal in detail the next day. They had rest as they were jetlagged but didn't have much time to relax as after this deal, they had to leave for Australia too. Arnav signed the contract the next day. He knew that there won't b any issue in this one as it was almost finalized in the previous meetings. He decided to leave for Australia on Wednesday itself as he knew he would need time to go through the other contract.

Australia - Sydney

On the other hand, Sonam kept herself busy with her friends over there. She knew that it was a very important project n so she didn't disturb Khushi at all. Khushi gave the presentation with perfection. The next meeting was finalized for Friday. Now, they were just waiting for Arnav to arrive over there.

Arnav n Aman reached Sydney late night on Thursday. They decided to call it a night n meet Khushi in the morning as meeting was scheduled for the evening. Arnav briefly met Khushi n congratulated her for doing a good job with the presentation. They decided to discuss everything in the morning n left for their respective rooms to catch some sleep.

The whole next morning passed with Arnav, Khushi n Aman discussing the contract. Once satisfied, they finalized the deal n the only thing left was signing the contract in the evening meeting.

They signed the contract in the evening n now finally the work was over.

Evening

Sonam, Aman, Khushi n Arnav were sitting in the hotel restaurant having dinner.

Khushi: At what time is our flight tomorrow??

Arnav (confused): Flight?? Where r we going??

Khushi: Of course back home.

Arnav: We r not going tomorrow Khushi. Our flight is on Tuesday.

Khushi (confused): Do we have another meeting here??

Arnav: Yes!! A very personal one.

Aman shared a knowing smile with Sonam while Khushi was confused. Arnav just smirked, his mind working on ideas for his next move. 😈
