Charu I finally watched Aashiqui 2 and cried buckets! How does a movie with which I cannot connect personally to at any level, in the sense that stardom, alcoholism, affect me so much? And how do men not react at all, n I am talking about my husband, well he sat through almost whole of the movie, considering its genre, I'm thinking he must have considered it watchable! I'm glad he left to put Anaya to sleep, towards the end, where I was howling like a baby! I must really do a thesis on the difference in men and women! He saunters in after the movie is well over, is munching on food and inquires so did he die in the end?I reply just as nonchalantly, bcoz I got time to gather myself sufficiently, he committed suicide! His reply oh ok!😒 Do they pretend to be unaffected or it really doesn not affect them like it does to us? I'm at a loss here!

As for the film, I didn't findt RJ to be anything like RK, except for his drinking out of that green bottle(alcoholic) part! I think RJ was well portayed as a proper alcoholic, but even then he had more focus and good sense than RK! Speaking practically, I suggest a rehabilitation centre for RJ, before resorting to the last n final option! And I protest that Uncle of his seemed to care more for her than him, approve of his friend very much! Loved his profound speech to RJ in the beginning and to her at the end! And if this story was for real, I think chances are more likely that she would resort to alcoholism n drugs to deal with his loss, rather than see sense! And have to add, that tragic endings seem to be the trend now! The only two recent movies I watched Kai Poche and this resorted to that! Though for Aashiqui it seemed apt, I think it was a lil more forced for sensationalism in Kai Po che!

Kudos to the makers of Aashiqui 2 for making a contemporary and relevant movie. I like the fact that compared to the original Aashiqui, (which I liked at that time) this one has been able to reflect the change in audience and movie making!
