Deepika and I can work together again: Ranbir KapoorBollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor, who along with his Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani co-star Deepika Padukone was at the Screen Preview, said he would love to work with Deepika again.
Ex-flames Ranbir and Deepika are back on screen for the second time in Ayan Mukherjee's Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. The two had earlier worked in Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008).
"Deepika and my pairing can happen again. She is hard-working, sincere. Too much has been said about our relationship. There is nothing like that," said Ranbir Kapoor in an exclusive conversation with the Screen editorial team.
Ranbir praised his co-star and former girlfriend for being professional and how she has grown as an actor.
"The amount Deepika grew in four years is amazing. Her understanding of a character is immense," he said.
Ranbir and Deepika broke up in 2010, amid rumours of Ranbir's infidelity.
But Deepika Padukone said she didn't come on board the movie with any baggage.
"I approached this film as any other. I didn't come with any baggage because I was to work with," said Deepika who looked stunning in a striped shirt with jeans.
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, directed by Ayan Mukherjee of Wake Up Sid fame, is a romantic love story.
Ranbir said the movie is a 'delicate and unadulterated' love story of a group of youngsters who discover themselves.
"The film is not a normal cliche love story. Director Ayan Mukherjee has a vision. The conflict is of a different kind."
Releasing on May 31, it has been produced by Karan Johar and also stars Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin.
The movie is about Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapur's journey and how they have a holiday of a lifetime. But life isn't all fun and games.
The songs of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani including balam pichkari, badtameez dil and diliwali girlfriend are topping the charts.
Ranbir, whose favourite song from the movie is romantic number Kabira, said the film's music doesn't look forced at all.
"Music is very important to this movie. Pritam has created fun songs. But it is not forced," said the Barfi! actor.
Ranbir Kapoor has shot an item song Ghagra in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani with dancing diva Madhuri Dixit.
Ranbir said it was producer Karan Johar's idea to get Madhuri do the special song, which will be out tomorrow.
"It was my dream come true to work with Madhuri. I have been a huge admirer of her. My heart was also broken when she got married. She is very unassuming on the sets. She is sincere, dedicated, working hard," he said.
Heaping praises on the dhak dhak girl, Ranbir said: "Her two sons were on the sets and it was good to see how good she is as a mom. My admiration and regard for Madhuri grew 10 folds after working with her."
Interestingly, Ranbir's father Rishi Kapoor had worked with Madhuri in various films.
On the other hand, Deepika Padukone has a busy 2013 this year. She is currently wrapping up Rohit Shetty's Chennai Express with Shah Rukh Khan and Ram Leela with Ranveer Singh.
Speaking about her character in the film, Deepika Padukone said: "My character Naina has led a routine life. She has never explored. Then she meets these people on a journey. Naina wanted to do something different. And she becomes a confident, beautiful person."
