Okay, deep analysis here.😆

When the show began, we were introduced to two families. One was supposed to show the traditional parenting approach, the Ahluwalias, one was to show the so called "modern" parenting approach, the Ahujas. The problem is that both of these families are not what they were shown to be, and writers didn't even maintain proper consistency throughout the period of show.

Let's begin with Pinky. She thinks of herself as a liberal mother, who should be friends with her kids. She wants her kids to confide their problems and life happenings into her. She doesn't like getting strict, not even scolding. Hitting kids is out of the question. That's what she claims to be, but does she comes off like that? I would say not. A mother needs to be the rock of the family. A parent actually, but I just used the term mother because I am talking about Pinky, but the same holds for the father too. But again and again we have seen her get panicky. She loses control, gets hysterical. That may frighten the young kids even more. We see them supporting her rather than the other way around. She wants kids to confide into her, but then behaves as if her daughter has committed some grave crime by liking a boy. She started listening into doors, going behind her back, spying and stuff. She wasn't ready to consider her opinion. That's not a trusting parent. Not even an understanding one. What good is asking your kid for her opinion if you are not even going to consider it? Thus we see a mother who tries to put off a liberal mask, but isn't a liberal person, as her behavior in critical moments prove.

Take Jeet next. He is actually a mature guy. Ha has his principles as life and parents. He follows them religiously. He can actually be said to be liberal in his attitude. He is the rock of family, manages the wife and kids in dire situations. He actually listens to the kids. In the love track, he was the one who actually talked to Raavi and made her understand. He had her back when picking out kidnappers. He encouraged her to do the right thing. He knows when to talk with the kids and his wife separately, and how to get them together. Although he is sometimes too quick to blame Pinky. Underestimating his wife is one of his vices, one that can bring down the value of mother in the kids' eyes.

So, what we find with Ahujas that it is mostly sitting tight due to Jeet. His absence made the household shaky. Though they say they are liberal, this claim doesn't hold water in certain situations. The balance leaning more towards the husband also isn't a good thing. But as far as kids are concerned, I think they have done mostly okay. Raashi is the smartest, her father having her back the entire time. Although Pinky's slipping has made Sunny kind of stubborn. She should hold strong to the decision. Raavi also has confidence to do things, and she also confided things to them. Which is certainly a medal of good parenting.

On to Sweety now. She is the typical Indian mother. Although she wants good for her kids, what she doesn't realize is that what she thinks is good for them might not always be what is actually good for them. This attitude is her biggest con, rest are all good. She fulfills her duties properly, manages the house firmly. Discipline is good too, and also guides her daughter in her problems. She even shields her kids if their father gets angry, so they aren't suddenly abandoned by both the parents. She also puts her ego aside in critical matters, like that Chintoo party. The kid came first then. Everything is good until the kids have a disagreement, and that's the area she falls short in. Her modernization was something that dropped her character many notches down IMO. She is good overall, although not able to sort out differences is a big negative, as this is something that pops up more as the kids grow up.

Last but not the least, Lucky jee. He has been an excellent surprise, I have grown to like the person more and more, now he is up to the mark with Jeet. And the way Jeet's character is going down nowadays, he might soon be my favorite. He is the compensating guy of the household. This quality might not be good in a competing world, but is excellent for household. He doesn't get argumentative and accept mistakes just to ed quarrels. He makes Sweety calm down and understand kids. He understands them good. Has a very friendly relation with his kids. Although he gets angry sometimes, he has the great quality of keeping shut till he has cooled, and then think the situation again from the different party's POV. This has helped him manage countless situations. He is the fun midst the discipline of Sweety. But confuse not, he can be the fear inducing father if the need arises. But mostly calm and composed, a friend, and a great father.

So, Ahluwalias might seem to have less freedom on the surface, but scratch that, and you will find that although Sweety might raise a storm initially, Lucky handles grave situations admirably, and sometimes in a better fashion than Ahujas. Rinku's track was the proof of this, the way Lucky understood their relationship. they scored full points there. The kids are turning out good here too. Rocky is mischievous but is handled by lucky's understanding and Sweety's discipline. Ginny also is guided well.

So, as you can see, neither of them are perfect. But parenting is never perfect. You can only do the best to your ability, and hope that kids use your guidance properly. Ahujas pretend to be liberal, while they aren't so always. Ahluwlais feel strict, but sometimes shine in the difficult situations.

I think this should be long enough. 🤣
