My episode review-
First scene-
I think the phone conversation was okay up to one point.
When RK said he doesn't like others talking about his wife, I was impressed with Bhai's comeback. (That he doesn't like being questioned about someone else's wife's whereabouts)
But the character reference for Madhu (samajhdhar, blah blah) and the assumption that her disappearance must amount to some major decision was just, eh!
Finally, the 'meri biwi hoti' line was totally uncalled for (given that Sultan's message to RK was already pretty clear) but I'll admit that I enjoyed the sight of RK seething :)
A word about Padmini/Trishna-
I'm curious why exactly does Padmini think RK is hunting Madhu down? To humiliate her some more? And since when does she approve of hiding under such circumstances?
Also, if Madhu did indeed tell Trishna about her decision/plan, why did they come up with a temporary excuse (that's she's visiting a friend)? Why not something a little more long term? (Outdoor shoot for a few days or something)
And if Madhu has indeed returned to RK, why lie about it at all? 🤔
Second scene-
Erm, okay.
Madhu was speaking so much that for a moment in the middle I felt like calling out (in RK style)-'Cut it!
As a stand alone, it was definitely a romantic scene. But what to do, I'm not someone who can simply enjoy it for what it is. Sigh!
My mind was constantly trying to read between the lines. And I came up with four alternatives for what was going on today (in decreasing order of probability)-
1. Both RK and Madhu were both being truthful- most likely
If this is the case, what more is left? I'm going to get very bored unless the makers come up with something out of the box.
I'm glad she figured out that his feelings for her emerged only upon almost losing her (quite a parallel to when he was shot, isn't it?)
She said something to the effect that even when he is consciously aware, he won't admit that he's tedha.
Does that mean she has made peace with her own trust issues and is back to concentrating on his? She believes in his feelings for her irrespective of what he says/does?
This brand of love makes me a little uncomfortable. There is something unpleasant about believing that someone loves you when they say they don't/ don't say they do (even if their actions are suggestive)
2. Both were faking- tied with number 1
This, according to me, is the most interesting possibility.
I'm not saying that they don't love/ have feelings for each other but just that at this point of time, each has a separate agenda on their mind.
Reasons: Did Madhu compose her speech while cooking or sleeping? The 'suraj' and 'saagar' metaphors were a little too perfect and I didn't see her pause/ draw a breath to think before spouting them.
And for most part of the scene, I had a similar suspicious expression as RK.
There's something off about his reaction today. Other than the one shot where we see his breath catching in his throat, I didn't see any relief when the suspicion wore off.
Am I totally off mark in thinking that he looked almost bored?
He has said it on several occasions that he prefers the 'jungli billi' version of his biwi and today I believed that.
When she's not showing interest in him (post unwedding), he's terribly interested in her. The moment she's interested in him (sympathy/KC/today), he loses interest.
Did anyone else get this feeling?
Or perhaps, he's just shrewd and considering (like us) the possibility that she's up to something.
3. Madhu alone was faking- second possibility
In accordance with her short term lie to Padmini, Madhu doesn't even need to go to the lengths that RK did. If she turns around tomorrow and tells him that everything she said today was a lie, she can effectively crush him.
4. RK alone was faking- least likely
I'm not ruling this out, even if everyone calls me twenty kinds of cynic!
If he thought that she moved on too easily the last time, this time revenge will be that much sweeter. She won't even have 'veer, dheer, balveer' on her side to recover if rumours about Padmini disowning Madhu are to be believed.
It is possible that his concern about her disappearance/ well being today was real while his feelings for her aren't. This has happened before too.
Precap- She's still not done talking??
I think he did say 'I love you' or an RK equivalent of it because her 100 watt smile can't be simply because of her own profession, can it?
