Sansu... how true it is? The castle indeed appears much similar to the Mighty and Melancholic First Lord...A little in the distance was a tiny hill, the foot of which was lined with trees but the hill was not too high and could be managed to the top with thirty steps of her own young feet. But what held her open-mouthed was the huge mansion that stood erected on the hill. Its dark walls and the massive garden around it were so ominous that it would seize the fear of any beholder. But strange to say, Kushi frowned at the castle. She felt no fear. Rather she felt a strange sense of sympathy overcome her as if she could hear the very walls and windows of the house crying in desolate pain.
Sansu... about your question... Relationship between ram and khushi...
Though he is very dear to her heart... I feel both are a kind of "Green hearts". Both are orphans, with their own setbacks in their life... Yet they braved their fate... and learnt to live a content life touching others soul with their innocence and spreading warm sunshine in the lives of people they come across...I feel "Ram" is one "healing soul"... and if I guess it right, he'll be the person to heal the wound and fill the void in Rahim chacha's heart and life... the one who is secretly holding on to his grief for years, about losing his only son in the battle field...
The supernatural intruders...
One, a Guardian angel... the lady in dark hood... haunting Lord Arnav's dreams but always trying to guide him with a motherly strictness and tenderness... slowly guiding him towards his healing rose (khushi)...It was the lady in the dark hood.
"Untie me this instant," he said, his free hand fisting in her direction.
"I cannot," shrugged the woman, unmoving from where she stood.
"Why not?" he ordered, pulling at the chain and wincing inwardly when his wrist cut from the clasp.
"Because I do not have the key," said the woman and then she began to move away.
He looked up and yelled, "No, wait! Tell me who has the key!"
But it was too late. The dark lady had already vanished, but in her place, lay a lifeless young girl. Her hair lay spread out on the cold forest ground and dead leaves blew over her gown. Her lips were blue and her skin seemed cold and pale.
However, he was not looking at her face but at her neck for, reposing on her unmoving chest, was a key, hung from the chain around her neck.
Other, an avenging angel... the spooky girl who haunts Gen. Jha in his dreams... with hate and vengeance pouring out of her eyes for Gen. Jha and trying to distance him away from his healing rose (Lady Anjali) ...The girl seemed to ignore him and her fingers reached out and picked up the painting of his wife."Put that down," he said, more because he didn't want the creepy girl touching his things.
The girl still refrained from looking at him and before he could stop her, she threw the painting down onto the dusty ground with an angry hurl.
"You mustn't touch things that do not belong to you," he warned her, and placed the painting back on the table.
He stepped away, his eyes still on the girl and just when he was a few feet away from her, her fingers shot out again, picked up the painting and hurled it more violently to the floor.
She had lifted her head to look into his eyes and with sheer terror, he saw how red blood streamed like tears from her glazed eyes. And adding to his mixed horror, the red teardrops slid from the girl's pale face and fell onto the face of his wife's framed picture, marring her pale cheeks and tender eyes with the ominous red drops.
Why such contrast in the behaviour of these two supernatural intruders in the cursed beasts' life?... Is it because there is some righteousness (in spite of his faults and follies) in Lord Arnav's side even in his cursed state and something unfair and unforgiveable behind Gen.Jha's actions that lead to his curse...

GENERAL JHA
General Jha was introduced in the tale as a doting husband, a friendly bro-in-law and a dutiful son-in-law of the castle who holds pride and passion in his Military profession, guarding his nation and securing the lives of the citizens... his actions making us interpret him to be a patriotic, responsible and loyal person... a mighty warrior with a compassionate heart... a completely white, a heart full of gold character.
Extracts from the prologue
The sound of a speeding carriage. The dark lady stepped out from the shadows and peered into the distance. The carriage was fast approaching and she could hear the sounds of two people quarreling.
These eyes, that belonged to the lady in the dark, then looked in the direction of the nearby town where a festive occasion was being held. She made her way to the place and stood at a distance, watching the huge house where it was being held.
@red : why was the carriage speeding at that time?...that too why would khushi's parents carry a child with them in such instances?...they were arguing too...
were they escaping from somewhere?...maybe escaping the lordy's house?
@blue : you were right hoopoe...the castle may not be the place were the death took place...it is described as a "huge house" not a castle...
