Day 1 of Sita's imprisonment in Lanka

Devraj Indra appears to Sita and gives her a divine payas that will rid her of fatigue and hunger for as long as she remains at Lanka. Blessing her that Ram and Lakshman will come to rescue her soon, he gives her hope and leaves.

Ravan attempts to compromise Sita's virtue, but she plucks a blade of grass and calls upon all the Gods and Goddesses to protect her if she has been a virtuous wife to Ram.

Mandodari sends royal clothing and jewelry for Sita, but Sita declines them since her husband is still in tapasvi attire. She sends a kind but stern message to Mandodari that she means her no harm, but she should warn Ravan not to make enmity with Shri Ram if he doesn't wish for Lanka's destruction.

After Ravan's emotional harassment, Trijata consoles Sita and calls her a daughter, saying she never had children herself. Sita becomes happy upon receiving Trijata's motherhood.
