Spinning, dancing, laughing to her favourite song.

A classic jazz record filled the air with its melody. Rishabh turned the stereo off.

"You have a guitar right? Let us do the singing".

He searched the back seat and found a ukulele.

"Typical hipster. What's wrong with a guitar?"

"Play, will you?"

"I've tried so hard my dear to show

That you're my every dream
Yet you're afraid each thing I do
Is just some evil scheeeme".

He winked pointing the red instrument straight at Madhu. She fired back with a soft key. Rishabh quickly picked up the notes.

"A little girl

With nothing wrong
Is oall alooone"

Rishabh swallowed his saliva from the impact of her harsh truth. Thankfully, he didn't ahve to look any farther than the chorus:

"A memory from your lonesome past

Keeps us so far apart
Why can't I free your doubtful mind
And melt your cold cold heart".

He was sure that Madhu had a timeless classic lined to battle. Fortunately for Rishabh, their competition was interrupted by a phone call.

"Micha, it's me. Listen, I want you to make a pit stop in Goa. I".

Madhubala interrupted before Rishabh could listen in on the seemingly secretive conversation.

"I am with somebody. I will take care of it".

The line abruptly cut off and Rishabh had a look of questioning on plastered on his generally curious face.

"Must you know?"

Madhubala shook her head.

"I must. I mean Micha, come on. That is got to be a good story".

"Fine, I will only say this once so listen up. I am a Chicago after four kid; have been for as long as I can remember. When my guardians found me, I had two things in my possession. A name tag of Micha and a poster of Madhubala. Hence the name".

"Micha, ahaan. I like it", Rishabh talked not out of amusement but the lack of condolences. She had told him more than he wanted to know.

After four is a hush-hush terminology used to describe at risk children in metro downtown schools. In most North American cities, afterschool programs keep vulnerable students in school after 4pm using food and other incentives. The reasoning is that kids are most likely to be abused by caregivers during this time. In other words, Madhubala/Micha was brought up in an abusive Chicago household among people who were not her biological parents.

"So, what is a Chicago street girl doing in Delhi?"

"Back to the motherland. Plus, you will not be able to swallow everything in one bite", she laughed off the seriousness and hummed along to her favourite song like the little girl, with nothing wrong who is all alone.
