Naniji ' Khushi bitiya u must be tired. U go to ur room with Chottey. I will send HP with tea and coffee."
Khushi ' " no naiji I am fine! I want to sit with all of u"
Khushi sat down on the sofa. Arnav looked at her with an expression that clearly said " I know u r trying to avoid me but u cannot do that forever."
Naniji - " What about you Chotey? Would you like to sit with us or do you have some other work?
Arnav - " No nani! I am absolutely free. I will sit with all of you."
Everyone was surprised to hear this, as Arnav was generally busy and rarely sat with the family on such occasions as these. Khushi looked at him and he smirked. She looked away and started feeling uncomfortable. She had sat down with the family to avoid him. She had thought that he would go to his room as usual but he seemed to be determined to stick close to her.
Arnav moved forward and sat beside Khushi. He sat very close to her so that she could feel the warmth of his body. She was damn uncomfortable. A part of her was craving to close the distance between their bodies and settle herself in his arms and another part was repulsed by this thought. She was totally confused and tried to move away by shifting to the edge of the sofa. In her attempt to avoid his touch she nearly fell off the sofa when a hand snaked on her waist and pulled her back. She landed on his chest. The whole family was amused to see this. She immediately tired to move away but he restrained her by his hand on the exposed part of her waist. The touch of his hand on her bare waist was wrecking havoc on her senses. She wished that atleast the thin material of her saree was between his hands and her waist.
Naniji ' " What happened Khushi bitiya? You were about to fall off the sofa. Are you allright?"
Khushi immediately backed away from Arnav and sat properly. She tried to remove his hands from her waist but he kept it there, firmly. She did not want to create a scene infront of the family so she let it be.
Khushi ' " Yes naniji I am all right."
Anjali ' " Yes nani now everything is fine."
Anjali smirked at Khushi and her eyes went to Khushi's waist, were Arnav's fingers were caressing her milky skin. Khushi looked down, unable to meet anyone's eye. The whole family conversation was a blur. She could not concentrate on anything.
After dinner Arnav went to his room but Khushi stayed in the kitchen, pretending to help HP. She did not want to go her room till Arnav was asleep but little did she know that Arnav had decided to wait for her. Arnav was pacing the room restlessly. He knew that Khushi would not come to the room easily.
Khushi knew that Arnav slept around11:00 p.m so she waited till 11:30 to go to her room. She opened the door quietly and saw that the lights were switched off. She could make out Arnav's sleeping figure in the dim light of the night bulb. Arnav had put a night bulb in their room since she was afraid of the dark. She crept to the bathroom to change in her night dress.
She came out of the bathroom and went to the bed. She sat on the bed tentatively. She wanted to make sure that Arnav was asleep. She was looking at Arnav's figure when he turned suddenly and pulled her on the bed. He held her below him and looked into her eyes. She was hell scared now. She tried to struggle but in vain then she gave up and looked into his eyes defiantly.
Khushi ' Get off me Mr. Raizada.
Arnav smirked ' Not so soon Mrs. Raizada. You have been avoiding me but we really need talk.
Khushi (angrily)- I don't want to talk.
Arnav (smirking) ' You are right! Why waste time in talking when we can do better things?
Saying this he lowered his lips and hovered just above her lips.
Khushi was scared and yet excited. She couldn't help but respond to him. She remembered their kiss and blushed at the thought. She couldn't deny that she wanted him but she couldn't give in to the man who hated her amma. She knew that he would never force her so she tried another approach.
Khushi ' Mr. Raizada I know that you are stronger than me and I won't be able to stop you if you forced me but remember one thing that even if you have my body forcefully you will never have my soul.
Arnav was really shocked and he backed off. Khushi immediately got up from the bed and moved away from him. He frowned at her.
Arnav ' Do you really think I would force you?
Khushi did not reply and kept looking at the floor. Arnav was angry and hurt. He moved close to her.
Arnav ' This is what you think of me? Have you forgotten the love we shared? Do you really think I lust after you? If that is so you are mistaken Mrs. Raizada. I am not a sex-starved animal.
Khushi looked at him with tears in her eyes and his anger melted away. He held her face in his hands and looked at her with all the love in the world.
Arnav(gently) ' It is true that I want you but not because I lust after you. I want you because I love you. Is it wrong to want to make love to the love of your life?
Khushi looked down but Arnav put his finger under her chin and made her look at him again.
Arnav - Khushi I will never force you. You can take your time because I know that you will come to me in the end. You are mine and I am yours. I will wait for you till my last breath.
Khushi was really disturbed after hearing this and she immediately put her palm on his lips to stop him from talking about death.
Arnav smiled at her and looked at her with a naughty smile.
Arnav ' So Mrs. Raizada does not want me to talk about death! You, also, want to think about the beautiful life we will have together.
Khushi was embarrassed and she removed her hand from his lips.
Khushi ' I have to get up early so I am going to sleep.
Arnav smiled at her as she went to the bed.

Khushi got up early next morning, got ready and went downstairs before Arnav got up. She was in the kitchen when Arnav came down. He went directly to the kitchen. Khushi and Payal were busy cooking. HP was setting the table so he was not in the kitchen. Suddenly Payal turned and saw Arnav. Arnav gestured to Payal to keep quite. She smiled and left the kitchen while Khushi was engrossed in cooking a particularly complicated dish. Khushi was looking at the pan. She did not know that Payal had already left the kitchen . She stretched her hand and asked for salt from Payal, while her eyes were glued to the pan. Arnav smirked and then handed her sugar. Khushi saw the container and was surprised. She turned back and barged into Arnav's chest as he was standing very close to her. She tried to back off but Arnav held her waist.
Arnav ' " Khushi you are standing very near to gas so please be careful."
Khushi (angrily) ' " I have to be careful around u"
Arnav smirked ' Why? Are u afraid that ur body will respond to me in a way u don't want it to?
Khushi ' Shut up and leave me!
Arnav ' Okay!
Arnav let her go. Khushi looked at him suspiciously and Arnav smiled.
Arnav - A good husband always shuts up in front of his wife and I am a very good husband.
At this point HP entered the kitchen and was surprised to see his master like that. Khushi spotted HP and called him.
Khushi (to HP) 'Hari Prakash ji! Please take these puris.
Arnav was so engrossed in talking to Khushi that he had not realized that HP had entered the kitchen and he was a little surprised to see him and Khushi took advantage of the situation and pushed him and moved out of the kitchen.
Arnav followed her to the dining room. He saw that the whole family was sitting on the dining table with naniji at the head of the table and dadiji on her right side. Arnav's seat was on naniji's left side and the chair on the left side of Arnav's chair was left empty by the family members so that Arnav and Khushi could sit together. Khushi saw this and then she moved to the farther end of the and sat there. Arnav saw this and raised his eyebrows. The family members were also surprised as it was evident that she was avoiding Arnav but nobody said anything.
Arnav was really pissed off. He thought "What the hell! She does not even want to sit beside me. Its not as if we are making love." He decided that it was time that Khushi got used to sitting beside him. He also thought about a little punishment for her and went to her with a smirk on his face. He sat beside her and now the whole family was amused, except dadiji and Shyam. Anjali, Payal and naniji tried to hide their smiles, Mamiji looked shocked and NK and Akash openly sniggered.
NK (teasing) ' Nanav, what happened? Aren't u going to sit in your place?
He winked at Akash and Anjali gave him a warning look.
Arnav smirked and said ' " My place is beside my wife"
Mamiji couldn't control herself from saying "Hello hai bye bye! What has happened to Arnav bitwa?"
Anjali smiled and looked at Arnav and Khushi affectionately and said ' "He is in love mamiji!"
Khushi was so embarrassed that she could not meet anyone's eyes. She started eating. Arnav looked at her and then dropped his spoon. Khushi impulsively bent to pick it up and Arnav did the same. As soon as they were under the table Arnav held Khushi's right hand. She tried to get her hands free but could not as arnav held it tightly. They remained like that for sometime. Khushi kept glaring at Arnav and he kept smirking. Then they heard NK's voice.
NK ' Nannav! Khushiji! What r u doing below the table?
Arnav and Khushi looked up and the whole family hid their smiles.
Arnav kept holding her hand below the table. Khushi was helpless, as she did not want to create a scene infront of the family so she started eating with her left hand. NK noticed it and looked confused.
NK ' Khushiji! Why are u eating with ur left hand?
Khushi ' Vo '..
Arnav(looking innocent) ' Ya Khushi! What happened?
Khushi gave him a warning look.
Khushi( to NK) ' Actually I have pain in my right hand.
NK started smirking and said ' What happened? Did Nannav '.
Now Anjali intervened (hiding a smile) ' NK Bhai now stop teasing them and let them eat peacefully.
NK and Akash sniggered openly. The rest of the breakfast went smoothly except for the fact that Khushi's appetite was totally lost.
After the breakfast Akash and Arnav left for the office. Shyam went to the court. Khushi and Payal went to buy vegetables with NK. Naniji, dadiji and mamiji were going to the temple. They asked Anjali to accompany them as HP had taken a day off. Anjali wanted to rest so she denied. When dadiji wanted to stay back with her she told her that Shyam had promised to come home earlier that day and would soon be home. Dadi agreed reluctantly and went to the templewith nani and mami to pray for Anjali's health.
Anjali was resting at home.
After sometime Anjali got bored lying in her bedroom and she went to the kitchen to drink some water. On her way back to her room she saw the door of the storeroom. It was open. She went to close the door when her eyes fell on the cot that was bought by Shyam for their child.
The sight of the cot brought back all the memories of her lost baby. Her eyes filled with tears. She went inside and touched it. Only a few days ago she had been excited about the arrival of her baby but now there was an emptiness surrounding her. She would never hold her child in her arms, she would never hear her Rajkumari's baby cooing sounds and she would never know the joys of motherhood. She felt weak and sat down on the floor. She kept staring at the cot with tear filled eyes.
She started swinging the cot gently. This only increased her pain and as she realized that she stopped the swaying cot by putting a hand below it. The cot stopped and she removed her hand. Then she realized something and put her hand below the cot again. She could feel some papers. She bent and looked and found a few papers stuck at the bottom of the cot. She was confused. She took out the papers and looked at them. They seemed like some legal document and then her whole world came crashing down as she realized what they were.
