Chapter 12

RK: Bittuji have you found her yet?

Bittuji: Sorry Chief. But I have hired people to keep an eye on the chawl just in case Miss. Mallik comes back.

RK: STOP CALLING HER MISS. MALLIK!!!

RK hated every time he heard " Miss Mallik" that was HIS BIWI DAMNIT!! No matter what had happen Madhu will always be his. He didn't care that the marriage contract has been terminated. All he knows is that Madhu belongs to him and he will never stop looking for her. His thirst for Madhu has been even stronger than before.

Bittuji: Sorry Chief. How do you want me to call Miss Mal—I mean Babbi---

Bittuji is now so confused he was starting to stutter. He did not want to anger RK any further.

RK: Nevermind!!!

Bittuji: Chief I want to remind you that the Masquerade Ball that Mr. Avinesh is throwing is tomorrow night.

RK: Ok.

Bittuji left leaving RK all by himself to yet again try to meet his biwi in his dreams. RK has been questioning himself lately "did I let my ego destroy everything?" That question was now haunting him every single day. His regret was not doing him any good. He felt that it was pointless to want to repent now. He couldn't even find her. And even if he did, she would never forgive him for what he has done. RK always thought that he was victorious in breaking Madhu, but what he has really done was destroy his own life. He now realized that he would do anything to just get Madhu back. But until he can find her he will turn to his glass of scotch to meet her the only way he knows how.

Back on the island Madhu was busy packing to return to Mumbai. She had to hurry in order to make it there by nighttime. She surely did not want to make RK wait for her tonight. Madhu was a little nervous on what might really happen at the ball. Even though she was planning on RK's suffering she knew that her heart might betray her. As much as she hated him she knew her love for him was 10 times stronger, and she hated herself for that. And deep down she knew she really missed him. But right now she needed to stop thinking too much and pack. She had to make sure she had enough time to visit her family before going to the Masquerade Ball. Plus she needed Trishna's help in her little plan for RK.

Finally Madhu had arrived back in Mumbai. The very place, in which held her happiest memories along with the most hurtful ones. Madhu only had an hour until the ball so she decided to visit her parents with her dress and along with her mask, plus she didn't want anyone at the chawl to know that she had returned to Mumbai.

As Madhu stepped out of the car everyone at the chawl was starring. She looked dazzling in her form-fitted black backless dress, paired with dark red earrings and bangles, and her black feather mask complimented her nicely. She looked seductive and mysterious.

She made her way up the stairs and knocked on the door.

Padmini: Yes..who's there.

Madhu: It's me maa.

Padmini knew that voice too well. How she had missed that voice. She hurriedly opened the door just to see this slender young woman with a mask starring at her. But one look into the young lady's eyes Padmini knew it was her daughter. Padmini grabbed Madhu and hugged her tight as if she never wanted to let go.

Madhu: Maa..lets go inside.

As they headed inside Mallik and Trishna was confused to who this young lady in her sexy black dress was. Suddenly she turned to them.

Madhu: I missed you Mallik…sis.

Mallik and Trishna at that moment were almost in tears. They were in such pain for Madhu when they heard what had happened. Trishna ran to Madhu and hugged her " why didn't you tell me? All this time you were in pain ? Madhu…"

Mallik stood aside to let the sisters bond but Madhu knew that he too missed her very much.

Madhu: Don't you all dare be sad for me. This in turn has taught me a great lesson. He did not break me.

Hearing this everyone in the Mallik household felt relieved. But Madhu's visit was going to be a short one for now she had only 30 more minutes before heading to the ball.

Madhu: Sis I need your help tonight. I'm going to Mr. Avinesh's Masquerade Ball and your coming with me, so hurry up you have 30 minutes.

Trishna was so happy. She has heard of this Masquerade Ball but was never invited by Mr. Avinesh. But she was scarred to what Madhu wanted her help for. Because she could tell that the Madhu in front of her was not the same anymore. But who could blame her. She would do anything for her sister knowing what RK had done to her, so she went into her room and was done in 15 minutes, she came out wearing a light blue ball gown with her matching blue feathered mask.

Madhu: Bye maa. I wish I could stay longer but there are things I need to do.

Padmini hugged her daughter that has now changed " I love you Madhu…do not let anyone try to break you and get away with it."

Madhu: I know maa. Bye.

As Madhu and Trishna got into the car she noticed some men outside the chawl looking at them. Madhu than knew it was probably Bittuji's men. Thank god she was wearing a mask, but she knew they would still report that a mysterious woman had entered the chawl. But that was not going to deter her from her plan.

But luck was on Madhu's side. Even though the men had reported to Bittuji of the mysterious woman at the chawl, he was stuck in traffic and RK's phone was turned off, so there was no way of informing RK at all.

Back at the RK mansion, RK was already irritated that Bittuji had called earlier informing him that he was stuck in traffic and that it was best for him to go to the ball first. RK was so angered that he had turned off his phone, and then began drinking while trying to get ready. He grabbed his black blazer and red shirt and remembered it was the same outfit as that night in the studio. He looked in the mirror just to see an image of Madhu standing behind him smiling. He turned around quickly to grab her, but of course there was nothing to grab on to. RK chugged down the rest of his scotch, put on his black blazer and his black mask, and headed towards the ball.

RK arrived at the ball but decided to hang out on the balcony to get some fresh air. Plus he wanted to get away from all the women that were fawning over him. RK breathed in as much of the night air as possible. He was trying to clear his mind; he couldn't stop seeing Madhu everywhere that he went. He was on the brink of becoming insane. Just then he started to hear all this commotion inside the ballroom and decided to return to take a look.

Two women standing at the entrance one with a blue gown and a blue mask, but it was the other woman that everyone was in awe about. Her black daring dress and her dark black wavy hair was enough to hypnotize every man in the room. The dress hugged her like a glove, and that mask that surrounded her deep brown eyes was mesmerizing. It was as if she was casting her dark spell over everyone. Even RK couldn't take his eyes off of her. There was something about this woman that felt so familiar. And he was so sure she was starring right back at him.

RK was right. Madhu had already picked him out of the crowd. She could tell by his demeanor, there was no way he could run away from her tonight. Madhu whispered into Trishna's ear

" You remember what I said right?..when I get close enough to RK I want you to push me onto him. And when the lights go out make sure you wait for me in the bathroom, you have 5 seconds to get there."

Trishna: Got it sis.

Madhu: Tonight Mr. Rishab Kundra, will be so much fun.

Madhu still starring at RK started to make her way inside the ball. She was approach by many men trying to ask for her name, but of course, Madhu had only RK in her sights.

RK himself was busy waving off female pursuers. But he would now and than sneak a peak at that mysterious woman. And every time he thought he sneaked a peak he found the woman starring right back at him. RK thought he might of drank too much because he swears that he was seeing Madhu behind that mask. He than tried even harder to stop looking. But then he noticed that she was getting even closer to him as if trying to come to him. But than RK thought to himself " my god I swear I'm hallucinating!!" As RK was about to go get some more air he felt someone being pushed on to him so his first instinct was to grab on to the person to prevent the fall.

As he managed to get his balance he was trapped in these big dark brown eyes. She was beautiful, the sexy mysterious woman now in his arms. RK looked even deeper into her eyes and felt that it was definitely Madhu. He could see it. Than the smell of jasmine started to intoxicate him. RK was now sure that it had to be Madhu. But the woman just smiled and put her hand on his chest and gave a slight push as if for him to let her go. She than gave him a nod, as a gesture of thanks. She turned around to walk away but RK grabbed her wrist and pulled her back towards him.

RK had pulled so hard that Madhu was slammed against his chest. She looked up at RK with arrogant eyes. RK managed to say " Madhu?" but all he saw was a sly smile. RK was confused, he did not know if he was still drunk or if this was really Madhu, or if any of this was really happening for that matter. He tried to call out her name again " madh—" but Madhu put her fingers against his lips before he could finish " Shhh." RK grabbed those soft fingers and held on tight. " It's you isn't it" But all Madhu did was caressed RK's face. She could tell by his voice that he must have really missed her. There was pain in his eyes behind that mask. But Madhu quickly told her heart to stop it!! She was not going to fall for it all over again!!

But then Mr. Avinesh came out to announce to everyone.

Mr. Avinesh: Good evening ladies and gentleman. Please do enjoy this magical night by starting out with the first dance.

Mr. Avinesh waved for the band to play.

Madhu and RK were still in each other's embrace. As the music started to play Madhu smiled to a confused RK and walked him towards the dance floor. She slid her hands against his collar and wrapped her arms around his neck. She was so close to him that he was breathing in her scent. RK now believed he was dreaming, for tonight he would pretend that this mysterious lady is his Madhu. They danced so close together that Madhu was trying to calm her heart. She missed his touch so much. She couldn't stop herself. She started to cup his face with her palm; she then rested her head against his chest. The two for just a moment wanted to be lost in each other's embrace.

RK now lost in his dream; lifted Madhu's face so that he could see those beautiful eyes, he so much wanted to take off that mask but when he tried Madhu grabbed his hand to touch her face instead. The warmth was so inviting. He than grabbed Madhu's waist and pushed her even closer to him.

Madhu missed him so much that she wasn't even resisting. RK had missed his biwi for so long he could no longer take it .His desires were dying to take over. He lifted Madhu's face towards him, he could no longer stop, and he pushed her lips against his. " ahh such soft lips; lips so sweet. The same lips as the night he had confessed". A kiss so passionate that Madhu was becoming weak in the knees. RK noticed this and grabbed her and pushed her even closer where there were no longer any space between them.

Luckily for them the ballroom was not well lit. The only person that noticed this passionate kiss was Mr. Avinesh.

Mr. Avinesh gripped his fist together but didn't quite understand why he was so angry seeing such a scene. He knew what kind of love those two have but he also desired it.

When the two finally broke their kiss, RK was still lingering on by brushing his lips against Madhu's ear, whispering " biwi." Madhu then snapped back to her senses, she pulled away a little with her arms still wrapped around RK's neck. She then put her hands together and gave Ruma the signal. Lights went out and Madhu quickly whispered into RK's ear " hmmm…that was nice pati-dev…did you miss me?" Madhu than pushed a shocked RK as hard as she could. RK was so shocked for he was not sure if he was dreaming. " That was her!!!" But it was too dark and by the time the lights came back on she had disappeared.

But than Bittuji started to run towards RK.

Bittuji: Chief I have some news. There was a woman in a black dress spotted at the chawl.

RK's eyes widen. He realized that he was not hallucinating after all. Madhu was really here!!

RK: Bittuji she is here!! Find her now!!! She is in a black dress with a black mask!!!

Bittuji : Yes Chief!!

As RK and Bittuji were desperately looking for Madhu, she had already made it to the bathroom where Trishna was waiting for her as instructed.

Madhu: Hurry Trishna. We need to hurry.

Trishna: Are you sure this is gonna work?

Madhu: Yes, just wear my dress and my mask and walk in opposite direction so that I can escape.

Trishna: And If I get caught?

Madhu: I want you to get caught. But just give me enough time to make it to the cab.

As the two exchanged gowns Madhu had a smile on her face. She could just imagine that by now RK has found out that she is here. She can just sense his anger and that right now he is desperately trying to catch her.

" It's not gonna be that easy pati-dev."

As the two walked out of the bathroom Trishna hugged Madhu and headed in the opposite direction.

RK spotted a woman in a black dress and started to chase her. But for some reason he felt as if this woman was different now. The way the dress looked was not the same. Something was off. But just when he stopped and turned the other way towards the entrance he saw a woman in a blue dress. She turned to look at him one last time and smiled and she suddenly ran out the door.

RK knew at that moment " Madhu!" by the time he made it to the entrance she was gone. RK now was furious!! Not only did she play with him but dare she run away again!!

RK mad as ever instructed Bittuji to keep on finding Madhu. Force Trishna for information! At this point he didn't care how it was done!! He just needed his BIWI back!!

Madhu now safe on Mr. Avinesh's private plane was thinking back. She touched her lips and sighed " I still very much love him." Madhu knew that she still needed more time. Even though her plan was to not let him touch her, she couldn't help herself.

Madhu: I will forget you RK. But after tonight you will definitely be thinking of me.

Madhu was absolutely right. RK wanted her more than ever. He could still feel her on his lips. Her smell was still lingering on his clothes. Madhu has now pushed him to the limits.

RK: If she came back to visit her family she will just have to have a reason to do it again.

RK now knew that Madhu's weakness is still her family. If he has to go through them to get to her so be it. RK now had a devilish smile on his face " you forced me to do this biwi."

Madhu thinking that she had won this round did not know that she would soon have to return to Mumbai.
