I am really sorry for the maha late update...but things had come up and i needed to attend it...so hope u forgive me for my tardiness...now i have understood dat writin a ff really needs tym😕...hats off to all da ff writers...😆

Chapter 7

It was a bright little Sunday morning, pretty flowers bloomed in the wayside while birds chirped in the wake of the end of winter...but in house in the far end of the street things were not so pretty...

"KHUSHI! Uth jaaa! How much more will you sleep? Its almost time for your lunch" a shrill voice resonated from the Gupta residence

"Sone do na maa..." a sleepy voice came from between layers and layers of quilt

Garima couldn't take it anymore and pulled the quilts off her, and sprinkled water from the can, with which she was spraying her plants

"AHH! Aapne aisa kyun kiya? I'm fully drenched now" Khushi said shivering while blindly groping for her comforter

"How could I let my blossom wilt so early...so I decided to water her a little. Khil gayi na meri kali...get up now...time to rise and shine"

"Very funny, maa" Khushi groaned while slipping out of the bed.

"Oh yes...I forgot to tell you that you will be bringing in the groceries today" Garima said while making her way to her dearest plants again

"Oh noo...shit man!" Khushi hit her fist against the bedstead

"Say those nice words in my house again and you' d be taking the garbage out next"

"What the---" the words died in her mouth as she quickly shut up. Since when she 'd started copying the signature lines of her co-worker...she too didn't know.

In the Supermarket
Khushi struggled to reach the box of cereal which was kept on the topmost shelf, but was failing miserably
Suddenly, out of nowhere a strong pair of hands pulled the box down and handed it to her. Khushi was quite pleased and was about to thank him when she came face-to-face with the person she dreaded to see the most--especially on holidays

"Oh well, it's just you then...What are you doing here?"

"Is that a way to treat a person who helps you?Of course I have come here as my groceries had run out, just like yours"Arnav retorted,visibly annoyed.

He had been distracted the first instant when he had seen Khushi, on her tiptoes trying to reach the box. Her shirt had ridden up giving him a nice view..of her creamy waist...and he decided to interject before others in the area got it too.

"Well...lets see what you have got" Khushi said as she circled his cart. All she saw was a cart full of canned goods, instant noodles and processed food.
"Do you know these can cut your lifespan by half?"

"You well know I don't know how to cook and won't be able to in near future...so why argue?If you want to volunteer to cook for me, when we are married and have kids, I will have no objection"

"Pigs will fly first" she was quite pissed off by his shameless flirting

"I saw one flying just outside the window". Arnav chuckled before adding "Hope you have not forgotten about my treat"

"What do you want, Raizada" Khushi said while paying at the cash counter while Arnav stood behind her in the line.

"You" he whispered

"WHAT!" Khushi nearly jumped hearing his statement, giving the cashier a scare
"Aaram se Khushi...you will scare the poor woman" Arnav said cooly
"What did you say earlier?" her voice was a dangerous whisper. She wasn't letting him off the hook so easily now

"Oh that...I didn't say anything...maybe the cold winds are whistling in your ears"
The nerve...of that man...

The cold blast of air hit them as they made their way out of the supermarket. Arnav had offered a ride back home as Khushi had to fulfill her promise

"You're trying to act mysterious right now, but it's only coming off as annoying. Where are we going?"

"Someplace lonely, far away..."

"Stop being like that...Seedhe seedhe jawab do"

"Ok, meri maa...we're going to the mall. Remember you promised me to buy me anything I want"

Confused, she could only nod at the last statement.

He then broke into a careless grin. "You forgot? Never mind then. Come on we've reached already" He laughed as he walked away towards the elevators, getting off his car in a swift motion
"Hey you! Wait for me, you moron" Khushi struggled to catch up with him

"Since this is the very first item you'll be buying me," he began

"First and last," she corrected. "So, better decide quickly"

"I want something from there." He pointed to a jewellery store a few metres away from them.

"What! I didn't know you have a fetish for women's articles"

"Who said its for me?"

Submitting to his demand, Khushi followed and studied the wide collection of watches, rings, and bracelets they had on display. The prices looked pretty hefty, she thought with a grimace.Arnav really did know how to rub it in. For whom he was buying them for...she wondered while exploring the possiblities of a secret girlfriend...

Her eyes fell on a beautiful gold-plated bracelet...its design was simple but elegant...she was about to pick it up when someone pulled it off from her fingers

"This will do. Khushi, what do you think?"

"How will I tell you if you don't tell me who is this for?" Hell she was buying something for his secret girlfriend...must be some stupid, airhead, dumbo---

"Its for someone special, Isse pehen ke dekho toh" Arnav said slipping the braclet through her delicate wrist

She stared in surprise "What are you doing? Why?"

"Just because...It looks good on you."
And the next thing she knew, he was holding out the bracelet to the salesclerk. "I'll get this. Pack it."

"How much?" Khushi said taking out her purse

"That's not for you to bother" Arnav said while paying the clerk and slipping the package in his pocket

"So you wanted me just to choose a nice, little bracelet for your girlfriend...hell I didn't even know you had one" Khushi was quite hurt

"Yeah...Aisa hi kuch soch lo..." Arnav drawled as he hit the reverse gear to take his car out of the parking lot

Men...and their secrets...may that lil' girlfriend of his rot in hell, burn in fire---Hell why in the world am I cursing that poor girl...Its not her fault her choice is the jerk sitting beside her at work...

When they reached Gupta residence, the sky had already assumed a pinkish-red hue

"You can park the car near my gate. No one's home" Khushi said, eyeing his contours of his well-defined jaw in the diffused light...He doesn't look so bad

"Okay"

As she took out all her bags and was going to walk away, someting cold slipped beneath her wrists

"Huh?" she shot a questioning look towards him looking at the gold bracelet which snug rightly in her wrist

"Take it...its yours only"

"Mine? But why? You bought it, Arnav...I can't take it"

"Its yours .You were there for me even when you didn't have to be'" and the car sped away, sinking into oblivion against the backdrop of the setting sun

Khushi felt something unknown stirring inside her. This man continued to stir her up in an unnerving and frightening way.

"What can be happening to me?" She thought as she now looked at the newly forming stars shining above, reminding what had happened few seconds ago...

Phhew...I know i got a hell lotta emotional in dis one😳...hope u lyk it...Tell me surely if u hv any funny ideaz😛 . Do comment guyz becuz i need it to get going😉
