Makes hey ram..directs it...goes to Oscar...people write books on the movie...teach the movie in American film institutes

And then he makes abhay...adopts from the book he wrote...Tarantino agreed to stealing the cartoon idea for kill bill from him

And then makes a movie on god...goodness ...plays a disabled communist ...widely said as the best movie in Tamil

And the he makes a few slapstick comedies...one of which he plays a panophobic...then he makes a full fledged cop drama..and the he makes a movie called virumandi awarded best Asian film...and used different screenplay..directs it...the remakes a Wednesday...and then makes dasa ...his attempt if he pull of many characters...--and you call this guy on an ego trip..and what are those heroes who kill 100 people...self boasting dialogues...slow motion build ups on? Seriously...why so different standards?

look i dunt need to know the entire history of his work...ive been watching his films ever since swati mutyam and sagara sangamam so save all tht extra writing describing his films and their achievements...i am more than familiar with his work...the other actors who make "boasty films" dunt have such work behind them (ram charan, balakrishna etc etc)...tht is wht anyone expects out of them, and they give that to the ppl...

this is NOT the kind of attitude that ppl expect from kamal hassan...hes someone whos been in the industry for long...he no youngster or nepotism boasting twit so it does look cheap on his part to do such things...so yes, to me it is an ego trip when an actor who used to pretty sensible up until the 2000s starts doing mediocre stuff, gives himself a title "ulaga nayagan" or "universal actor", dedicates a song to his so called "greatness" and seems to be doing films more as a form of "show off" rather than a form of "expression"...there is no sincerity to his performances in the last couple of years...its all done with an air and attitude of "oh i can do it better than hollywood" or "oh i can multitask so much ...see see..."

so yes, he did lose a considerable amt of his previous dignity...

He has been ulaganayagan since the 80s yaar...not new!!! And he makes one build up song in a mass movie...intact it was kamals attempt at bringing back his lost box office power...please tell me how viswaroopam is a show off too!! I personally think you are seeing what you want to see...

Just because he makes one song on ulaganayagan dies not make him go into ego trip...the fact that he did not succumb to mass movies being South Indian cinema in his hey days speaks a lot...if he was on ego trip he would have demolished his fan clubs...

I saw this movie "Hey Ram" it was very weird. Rani shouldn't do sex scenes. Also I didn't notice that was SRK till maybe a few months ago lol😆

India just sends anything to oscars for example "JEANS" another fazool movie

Are Yaar...Just because JEans went heyram is bad too?? And in a movie about Gandhian policies pre independence...and his discovery of Gandhi in his journey to Kill Gandhi...and you pick up one sex scene with his wife to call it wierd???

As I said earlier...A film proffessor who teaches cinema in Ohio film institute wrote a 14 chapter book on the movie..

Watch the movie..understand it and then decide if it is wierd on it !!

Ofcourse he is not as big as Rajni...Kamal makes offbeat movies in a mass hero worshipping industry...the fact that he is one of the biggest star itself makes Kamal unique !!

havent seen the film but from the promos...not interested at all...

and like i said, its not just the ulaga nayagan thing...remaking A wednesday...why not stick to the original script? why make it all "hero glorifying" (most reviewers said tht was the main problem)..the story was abt a common man so why does he need to play this stud who has the upper hand on the commisioner...there was no sincierty in tht performance...especially comapred to the simplicity and genuine-ness of naseer's performance which was wht it was "a scared common man"...kamal is no less an actor..he could have performed just as well if it wasnt his intention to show off...

and abt playing multiple or diverse characters...compare his performance in dashavataram to something like Michael madan kama rajan...the former is insincere...the latter is genuine...THAT is th difference...and that, is wht makes me think tht he isnt as good as his former self when he is acting...the actual performance is clouded by the showy-ness of it all..

And about Dasa...even A wednesday ...Fair enought !!! I had the same opinion myself...but you cannot accuse him and say he is on a ego trip...for one movie in his 50 yr career...2 to 3 yrs before that he was playing a panophobic..a village man..and a cop...one movie later..he is directing a complex script..playing a agent ..and dancer...I assure you look like you do appreciate kamal...first 45 minutes was sheer genius in acting...what you missed in Dasa and A Wednesday...you will see here !!!

Every actor is show off...what do you think Salman is doing when he takes of his shirt..atleast Kamal shows off by hard work ...by investing 100 crores...taking 2 yrs to make a movie..directing it( I am talking about viswaroopam)...I genuinely believe people with ego trip are mass stars...who think every thing goes...Kamal just works hard on what he wants to...

anyway...I get what you are saying...but I was just irked off by loss of dignity and sense frame you used...you should see viswaroopam on how much hardwork he did to make this movie in regional cinema !!!!
