Nice post - Sobti is truly a class act and his performance is so subtle and nuanced that u forget he exists at all and only see Arnav - thats a sign of a great actor. I think its easy to overact, especially in emotional or dramatic scenes but i dont think he ever did. His restraint stood out in a sea of drama, which is what made him so real and believable. And he definitely doesn't need any dialogue to convey what he's feeling, his eyes speak volumes :)
I also think he's a naturally gifted actor who has been steadily honing his craft, his skills, and working hard to get to the place he's at now. But I think he's going to keep on getting better actually, he seems to always be learning and looking to improve. Even in the show, he started off well but just seemed to get better and better till the end, even with hardly any storyline or ASR-worthy dialogue, u couldn't look away.
I'm hoping he carries on being smart and plays to his strengths and really makes a mark - honestly, he's the one to watch out for, i am hoping for and expecting some great things from him. But yes, would so love to see him work with Sanaya again, i think together they're more amazing and no one can match them. They converted a serial-hating 'angrez' into a full fledged gol-gappa, jalebi and chamkili gota loving fan - i'm totally addicted and they are totally worth it :)
