| Salil Ankola has come a long way. The cricketer turned actor has performed in a number of TV serials like Chahat Aur Nafrat, Lekin Who Sach Tha, Kora Kagaz and Noor Jahan. Lately he stole the thunder in Asha Bhosle's music album Kabhi To Nazar Milao. And if that was not enough, Salil is all set to hit the big screen -- with three movies lined up for release. The star with drop dead good looks is a nice, simple and down to earth person. Yashica from Mid-Day.com met up with Salil to find out how he spent his five years in college. To begin with, Salil did his college from Nashik (Junior college) and Pune (senior college). Nonetheless, he's a role model for quite a few Mumbai college goers. For Salil college life was much different from the average collegian. He was not a party animal. No way please. Says he, "The only time we did party was when we won a cricket match." Salil could hardly attend any lectures. But hear me out before you say 'he's just like me' . His reasons for missing lectures were entirely different from yours and mine. His first love was cricket and he spent a large part of his time on the grounds. He started playing official cricket right from 11th standard. And if you ask him about the most memorable moment during his college life, pat comes the reply, "The day when my team won Pune University intercollegiate zonal championship". And what about college affairs, didn't girls go crazy behind him? Did he have anyone special then? Smiles Salil, " I met my wife in college". Let's hope the magic continues and he makes it big in the films. |
