This is what I just wrote to Sanjay:
Dear Mr. Bhansali,
I have been your biggest fan since the days of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. As a girl, one of the things that I love is the fact that you empower your female characters. There's so much depth in every story you relate. Whether or not the movie itself is a blockbuster in the box office, I have always believed that you give the best of the best. Without any doubt, you have always been my favorite director.
This is the first time I am attempting to write to you, so I hope that you respond to me. In fact, I have a request to make. According to the latest news in the media, Jennifer Winget is no longer the female lead of your show Saraswatichandra. I read about the concept of the show and it's incredibly amazing. I believe that shows based on classic literature always turn out to be epic shows. I am sure this is going to be one such show. A show that will truly create history on Indian television. I am not sure if you have had the time to see Sanaya Irani's work on the small screen. She was recently part of the popular show called Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon. You should see some scenes of her previous show on Star One channel called Miley Jab Hum Tum and compare it to her work in Iss Pyaar Ko.. You'd see that she is the most versatile actress ever witnessed on the television screen. Iss Pyaar Ko was essentially the story of the male lead, yet Sanaya Irani left her impact through the character of Khushi that she played in the show. Sanaya gave herself to Khushi but I believe the character of Khushi returned nothing to her because it was so ill-developed. In addition, what makes her unique is her absolute devotion to her work. She is dedicated to her work to an unimaginable extent. I know your extremely busy, so I won't take more of your time. But Please please please consider having Sanaya Irani as the female lead of your show. You won't regret it, trust me.
Looking forward to your response,
Many Thanks,
Sonya.
