Chapter 11
He did with a pleased face. How he loved to see the concern for him mixed with anger! She looked all the more cute and angelic in this avatar. And he knew; the night was still young!
"Where are we going?" he asked, when she started walking out of the jungle.
"You are least concerned about yourself. But, Mr. I love you and I care about you. I'm not gonna let you die in this jungle. We're going back to the car." Kriya replied back, not stopping while walking around the tree roots that were heavily branched out as a result of its age.
"Careful." Rey immediately said as they continued walking. She had a slip up and the advantage of him right behind her was that he caught her from the back just in time. Balancing herself; both continued walking out holding hands and supporting each other in the dark.
When in open air, he asked, "Are you sure? This might be very uncomfortable place to spend the night."
"Better than you getting bitten to death." She joked. She saw he wasn't convinced. "Chillax, there's nothing I can't handle. You can make up for this later on." And then winked. Again, how happy he looked to have her and her fun state back in her life!
Rey pulled down the car's roof and both sat in the front seats pulled back so they were in almost laying position. They both say in silence gazing at the stars and just have each other by their side was enough for them. He turned to look at her. Her admiring face looked like that of glimmering stars. He slightly touched her hand. She didn't move her gaze but felt her flinch as soon as he had touched it, but then had eased up.
Rey thought back to Sharon and Swayam and their efforts to bring them closer. It had finally bore fruits. They were together. They were happy. This was heaven. "I can't believe they would do this." He said in a gentle voice.
She turned to looked at him. Rubbing his hand, she replied. "I can't either. But if not for them, we wouldn't have this time alone today. Plus, knowing Sharon, I'm not surprised. I knew she was up to something since the day I told her."
"What'd you tell her?" he asked.
She paused, thinking if she should tell. Then, she decided he has a right to know. She sat up and braced herself to tell him. Noticing the seriousness, he sat straight as well and squeezed her hand to let her know that he was there, no matter what it was that happened.
"It was after Shivam came back. She asked me why I won't let you back in my life knowing how much you loved me. She had asked me why I wasn't the same as before. I told her a story'" She recalled the story.
(Flash-Back)
"You will be the same as before?" Sharon asked, not able to grasp the thought. How can anyone respond so cool-ly after anything like this!? Was the question she asked herself, looking at Kriya for a hint of pain. None. She only found a smiling Kriya gazing back at her.
Kriya stayed silent for a second. Then with a deep emotion arising on her face, she picked up a stone close by. Playing with it, she asked, "See how calm the lake is?"
Sharon was confused but nodded a yes to the question. Kriya continued, "I was like that once. Calm'minding my own business, stretching out of my limit to reach my dreams. I wanted to do something. I wanted to show my passion to the world." She threw the stone in the lake. "And what happens when I throw this is?" the stone bounced a couple times before settling at the bottom. As an effect, the water rippled in circles.
Sharon listened quietly till then and asked the second Kriya paused, "If you wait long enough, the water will calm down."
Kriya smiled and replied, "The water will calm. But the stone is still in there. It doesn't belong there. Still. It's there. It wasn't needed. But it did come. From the surface, things calm down. The stone is still there though. Neither me nor you or anybody can do anything to change that now. The lake's course has forever been changed. It's the same with me. I will never be the same again. The pain will never go away, just like the stone. It will move away, go to the bottom, but I can't stop it if it ever does come up again." She got up saying, "Now I'll see you at night."
She patted Sharon's shoulder before turning to leave.
(Flash-Back Ends + Kriya continues)
"I had told her that just like the water in the lake will never be the same, I can never be the same either. Even if the trust comes back, which it has, I'll always be hurt. Past is past and there's no undoing it. I can't forget it. Though, I can forgive it." She finished with a soft smile.
Rey was touched by it all. He was glad she told him the real truth. He knew how bad he had hurt her trust. That trust might never be back fully and he knew it. He didn't blame her for it either. It was his fault. He created the whole mishap.
"Thank you." He said, catching his voice back. "Thank you for telling me'"
She looked down at their hands. "Please'" She looked up. "Please don't break my trust again. I won't be able to handle it again."
"I never will." He said, holding her by her cheek. A dried tear fells down her cheek as he caressed her, her hand on his. He wiped it away and took her in a hug. "These eyes will never cry again. I promise you that. Every minute of life will only be searching for a way to give you all the happiness you deserved in the last years."
She hugged him back, not knowing what would happen next. All she cared was that she believed his words and went with the flow. The competition would start and she wouldn't know when she could embrace him again this openly, without worrying about anything or anyone else.
"Rey'" she whispered, a hoarse, cracking one. By simply saying his name, he could figure out what she was thinking. He knew what was going on inside of her. The yearning could be seen in her eyes. He had the same temptation as hers. If only he wasn't the judge. If only they wouldn't have to hide from the world. If only they could avoid this all. They just got back together. Neither of them was ready for another separation. It was their madly, passionate love that wouldn't obey the laws of nature. If only they could break all the ties'
Yet, in each other's embrace, they felt like the happiest couple on Earth. Even with all these problems, they were at ease when with each other. All the tests of life were passed, all the tricks over, misunderstandings cleared, their part of the sadness gone; yet the pain of separation remained. There was no guilt of past deeds, no remorse. What laid back was plain and simple happiness' happiness that might last just through the night before they got back to everyone.
The pain just mended itself as they lay there silently, allowing the air around them to speak for them. Her head rested on his shoulder as she used it as a pillow and embraced him as if holding on to her precious teddy-bear. His hand around her like a protective figure.
She asked, "Why can't we stay like this?" It was a question that didn't need an answer. She knew it very well. She just wanted to ask it, nevertheless. It felt good to finally open up to someone she cared the most about.
He tightened his grip around her shoulder. She looked up at him as he tilted his head down.
"Nothing ever stays the same. Nothing is every permanent."
She nodded and closed her eyes, hating the next line she believed to be utmost truth. "Everything is constant. Everything but change."
For the next couple of minutes, neither of them spoke. They heard the rhythmic beats of their hearts, the wind howling around them as the atmosphere chilled up. A second later, he noticed her body freezing up to the wind.
"Hey'" he said, to get her to open her eyes. She did and sat up. She looked at him with questioning eyes.
"You're freezing up." He stated the obvious. Until he said it, she didn't even realize it. She was just carried away in him. She shivered as it dawned down on her. He handed her his jacket. "Here; there are no bugs here to bite me." He told her, making her smile.
"Can we take a walk?" she asked cutely as she pressed his leather jacket close to her body. He nodded and both stepped down on the road.

Kriya continued walking in her own melody while Rey had stopped abruptly. She turned around to see his face. It was struck with sadness. She walked up to him and rested his head on his chest, putting her around his back. He clutched her back tightly, letting his hear weap.

In the classroom, SwaRon stood, dancing close to each other. Her head rest on his shoulder and they simply moved their feet little just to keep it going. All they were doing is letting their feelings flow as well. Eventually, his hold on her tightened as passion arouse inside of him. His hands gripped her waist tighter than before. She could feel her heart beating faster than before.

Rey hid his head in Kriya's nape, softly kissing her shoulder. She clutched shirt in a handful.

Pulling back and looking in her face, they stood very close to each other. Their faces, only few cm's away. Slowly, he moved his face in till his lips met hers. A soft kiss filled with intense passionate' a kiss that both of them longed for. It was hard to quite his inner demon after this. His hold on her took an aggressive turn, though she would pull apart every now and then to keep a tab on their surroundings.

Sharon was finding it hard to calm her heart. It refused to listen to her today. She had turned around abruptly, well aware that he had taken the step in closer to her. Swayam stood right beside her. his hand crept around her waist, making her shiver all over again. To hide her face, she turned quickly and hugged him, hands around his shoulder.

Both the couples stayed mesmerized in each other's touch. Each touch of them aroused a new feeling inside them. With each other, that moment might as well last for eternity. It held a special place in their heart. A night unforgettable for them.
