as the story goes..maan loved anisha before geet came back...and he is not able to overcome the truth that anisha is no more... so it will take time for him to understand the fact and accept geet!!!

PART 33
FLASHBACK
Geet got ready in her jeans and top while Anisha kept cribbing.
Anisha: geetâŚaaj aapka bday hain⌠aur aap dinner par chal rhai hain humare saath..aapke naye kapde kahan hain?
[geet..its your bday today.. and you are coming with us for dinner⌠where is your new dress?]
Geet gave a wide smile, "meine nahi khareedeâŚ."
[I didn't buy]
Anisha: why?
"woâŚI brought new strings for my guitar from that money na.."
Anisha rolled her eyesâŚit was useless to ask geet such questions. She was actually obsessed with her love for music. Maan came back with a bday card and a sorry cardâŚthat's what geet had demanded! It was Maan's punishment for not calling her right at 00:00 to wish her.
The three of them drove to thakur palace. Geet was awed by the grandeur of the place. Anisha held her hand and walked her in. geet kept admiring everything that came their way. as they moved, her finger's of the other hand entwined with Maan's and her head rested on his shoulder!
The hall was grandâŚand with the dcor it indeed looked like a king's palace! Geet was awed with its beauty. Anisha led them towards the couch and the servants, without further ado served them tea and snacks. Geet just kept looking here and thereâŚtouching the antiques and making faces!! Anisha smiled at her and continued speaking with Maan.
Geet: di..can I go and see that paining closely? Its so prettyâŚ
Anisha: of course geet,..aapko poochne ki kya zarurat hain?
[of course geet⌠you need't ask]
Geet walked towards a huge painting hung at a corner. Just then gayathri walked in with a big smile on her face. She went to Maan and Anisha and greeted them. Maan touched her feet. Gayathri was always impressed by Maan and she knew he belonged to a very reputed family.
Maan: thank you so much for the invitation auntyjiâŚ
Gayathri: arrey koi baat nahi betaâŚAnisha ke doston ke liye kuch bhi⌠bas aap sab khush raheinâŚ
[arrey that's okay beta⌠anything fro Anisha's friends⌠just that you all should be happyâŚ]
Anisha smiled and hugged her mother. Gayathri looked at the two of themâŚand looked at them quizzically.
"waise bday girl kahan hain? humne cake bhi order kiya hain unke liyeâŚ"
[waise wheres the bday girl? We have also ordered cake for her..]
Anisha was really touched by her mother's gestures. She hugged her tighter, "thank you maaâŚaur who wahan hain.. hum bula lete hain.."
[thank you maa⌠and she is there⌠let us call her..]
Gayathri held Anisha's hand and shook her head.
"arrey nahi beta..aap Maan ko dining hall le jaiyeâŚhum unko le aate hain..hume wish bhi tho karna hain naâŚwaise kya naam bataya tha aapne unka..?'
[arrey no beta.. you take Maan to the dining hall⌠we'll get her. we have to wish her also naa.. by the way what was her name..?]
Anisha, "ji geetâŚ"
She walked towards the dining hall..maan followed and the moment the walked a bit away from gayathri, Maan held her hand. Anisha got alert and looked at Maan wide eyes. Maan smirked naughtily and squeezed her hand tighter. She blulshed as both walked ahead. Gayathri noticed that little romance between them and smiled. she walked towards geet who was facing the paintingâŚadmiring itâŚwhen she heard someone speak out, "you love itâŚdon't you! Its beautiful!"
Geet jumped hearing that sudden voice and turned around to see who it was! Her hair covered her face and she heard the same voice, "happy bday betaâŚ"
Geet smiled and moved her hair away to see a very elegant lady standing in front of her, "thank you.." she said softly. But gayathri's smile vanished seeing the same girl standing in front her whom she had seen her in the mall with Maan the other day!!! So she was geet??? Suddenly she felt just too protective of her own daughter. She could be wrongâŚ.anisha loved geet like her own sisterâŚgayathri thought for a whileâŚmay be she was jumping into conclusions. She ignored all the negative thoughtsâŚbut she wanted to make sure! She led geet towards the dining hall but kept her eyes on geet.
Geet could feel someone's piercing gaze on herâŚshe cut the cake..she felt uneasyâŚAnisha gifted her an ipod..and she felt that heatâŚ.. even while having dinnerâŚshe could feel that burning gaze on her! while leaving, Maan waited for geet in the car while geet bid Anisha and gayathri a good bye! Anisha hugged her, "aap humesha aise hi rehna geetâŚ."
[just be like this forever geetâŚ]
Geet smiled..she could feel that love Anisha poured on her..may be she didn't have siblings that is why she was showering all her love on geet! Geet folded her hands for a Namaste to gayathri when she said, "just be careful geetâŚ.never ever hurt the one who loves you the most!"
PRESENT
Tears rolled out of geet's eyes. gayathri closed her own eyes to ease that burning eye.
"you destroyed her life geetâŚab aur kya lene aayi hoâŚ?'
[you destroyed her life geet⌠now what did you come for?]
Geet shook her head, "na..nahi aunty aisa nahi hainâŚâŚ"
[no..no aunty its not like thatâŚ.]
Gayathri: phir tumne uske saath aisa kyun kiya geet?
[then why did you do that with her geet?]
Geet just looked downâŚunable to answer! She just didn't know what to say!!! Gayathri gave her a frustrated look, "just don't destroy the lives of these two kidsâŚ.for god's sake stay away from them!"
She walked away wiping her tears. Geet just stood there...with countless teardrops rolling down her cheeks!! Dadima came running towards her and cupped her face, "geetâŚnahi beta..rote nahi⌠she..she is just not able to come out of that pain of losing her only childâŚ."

Geet hugged Dadima, "sab meri galati thi DadimaâŚ.meri wajah seâŚ"

She couldn't even continue and broke down completely. Dadima held her close to her heartâŚshe knew geet never cries⌠and if she does..then she is hurtâŚjust too hurt!!! And she needs to be with her! finally Dadima managed to console her and divert her mind towards dia and namra!
Later in the evening Maan found the house extremely silent. Usually his daughetr's run to him shouting "papaâŚpapaâŚ." When he gets back home..but what happened today? He kept his lappy on the table and loosened his tie! Nakul gave him a glass of water. He saw Dadima coing down with a serene smile on her face.
Maan: Dadima..ghar itna shaant kyun hain? dia aur namra kahan hain?
[Dadima..why is the house so silent/ where are dia and namra?]
Dadima: dono padhai kar rahe hain..
[both are studyingâŚ]
Maan: what? Them and studying? I don't believe thisâŚ.you must be joking right..
Dadima: aapko hum par yakeen nahi hain tho jaiye unko dekh aaiye!
[you don't believe us then go and see for yourself.]
Maan sighed and went to their room. To his surprise, both the girl were quietly completing their pending worksâŚwhich was one of the rarest sight in KM! he went closer, looking here and there and that's when he tripped with some kind of wire and managed to stop himself from falling!
Maan: ouuchhhâŚ..
Geet was laying on the floor on her belly,. Working on her lappy and it was put on charge. Maan tripped on that charger wire. She shouted without looking up, thinking it was either dia or namra trying to get away from studies!
"oyii badmashâŚ. Homework finish kiye bina room se bahar nikle tho mujhse bura koi nahi hogaâŚ."
[oyii badmash⌠if you step out of the room without finishing your homework then mind itâŚ]
Namra and dia giggled at Maan's expression hearing geet's words and kept quiet. Maan bent down only to see geet doing something in her lappy, chewing the end of her pen and then scribbling something on her notepad kept beside! Maan rolled his eyesâŚshe is madâŚcompletely mad!
Maan: aur agar mein gir jata thoâŚ.
[and if I'd have fallen down thenâŚ]
Geet was lost in her work. She didn't even notice the voice. She was too engrossed in something!
"tho bahut hi acha hotaâŚ.disturb na karo mujhe aur bachon ko bhi..badi mushkil se dono ko padhne bithaya hainâŚ."
[then it'd have been good! Don't disturb me and the kids too⌠I have made them study with great difficulty!]
Maan gritted his theeth, "GeetâŚ"
Ugh..this girlâŚ.doesn't even know that she was speaking toâthe Maan Singh Khurana!!! He rolled his eyes and went away! Dia and namra started laughing loudly at this. Geet finally closed her lappy and sat up, "oyee hans kaahe rahe ho?"
[oyee why are you laughing]
Namra: angel..aapne tho papa ko bhaga diyaâŚhehehe
[angel..you chased papa awayâŚ]
Geet's eyes widenedâŚohh fish!! Damn her..she was so lost in her work that she didn't even realize it was Maan!!!! And he sounded angry too!!!
"gusse me the kya?"
[was he mad?]
Dia: yesh yesh bahut zyadaâŚ
[yesh yesh very much..]
Geet just stood up and ran out. at this dia and namra started laughing loudly! Sigh papa and angel are specimen..dadima was right!!!! Meanwhile geet ran after Maan who was just getting inside his room.
"Maan..maanâŚMaanâŚ.."
He closed the door and she just bumped into it!!!
"OUCHHHâŚ!!!!"
He heard and immediately opened the door!!!
"geet kya hua..tum theek tho ho?"
[geetâŚ.what happenedâŚyou okay?]
Geet looked upâŚonly to see him in formals..he looked tired and was probably going to change!!! But oopsâŚ..
"Heartbeats are the biggest hypocrite in this worldâŚ
They beat in your bodyâŚ
But always dance to the Tune of someone else!"đ
She was reminded of the time when she used to drool over his looks..especially formal ones..that too secretly!!! She felt her heart beat after yearsâŚ. He looked the same..probably all the more beautifulâŚâŚshe didn't even realize what she was thinking! She just stood thereâŚgaping at him!!!
"why were you running like that?'
She snapped back, "wo..woâŚi..am sorryâŚwo i..i din't know tum they wahanâŚ"
"sorryâŚ" that word had never existed between them!!! even Maan felt the change..! he siged..a few signatures on some random papers had actually changed the entire relation between them!!!! he hated it. He just nodded, "umm its okay.." and shut the door!
Geet sighed and looked down!!! But she could still hear her heartbeatsâŚ. She looked around⌠and then placed her hands on her heart!
"this is not rightâŚjust not right!!!!"
She ran back into her room and found dia and namra engrossed in their studies!!! Dadima was just around the other end of the corridor when she saw Maan and geet's condition and both being so formal!!! She sighed sadly!!
"tchâŚtchâŚtch..ab tho kaafi time lagne wala hainâŚuff! Both are mad!"
[tch tch tch⌠now its going to take too much time!!! Uff..both are mad!]
A WEEK LATER
It was dinner time. Everyone sat and geet served them. she offered to serve dal to Maan to which he just shook his head, "no..thank you.."!
Dadima looked at dia and namra and the three of them sighed sadly!!! For dia and namra it meant- papa and angel are not on good terms and they wanted their papa to know how sweet their angel was! And Dadima was Dadima!!! Even that could not be helped! She wanted Maan and geet to at least interactâŚbut in vain! They were going too formal day by day!
Geet still cursed her heart for showing its presence with Maan around but she just ignored it. It was just not right!!! she had taken the complete responsibility of dia and namra! But never was a night that didn't go sleepless! Maan had closed the door of his heart tight⌠Anisha was an indispensible part of his life..then how could he just give her place to anyone??? And definitely not geet⌠because she held a very different position in his life! He knew he won't be able to do it so why to even try! He was happy living with Anisha's memories..and he would never ever betray her!
He took out Anisha's pic from the drawer with her holding little namra in her arms. Namra was just one month old then! Tears rolled out of his eyes thinking that she was never prepared for namra but still she did itâŚbecause he wanted namra! He kissed her face and kept it on his heart,...probably respect for her increasing ten folds!!! He remembered her words before she went for her delivery during namra!!!
She had been very weak and Maan was very worried about her. she was infact in the ICU a few days before namra. Her condition had worsened and there was very less chance of survival. Maan sat beside her, holding her hands with tears in his eyes. she held his hand and kissed them, wiping away his tears, "aap roo k..kyun rahe ho?'
[why are you crying?]
"aaj bahut darr lag raha hain AnishaâŚ"
[today am very scared AnishaâŚ]
She was finding it difficult to speak but still she managed to say a few words, "aap humara junoon hain Maan⌠aapke liye kuch bhiâŚâŚ"
[you are our obsession Maan⌠anything for youâŚ]
She said something more..but he could formulate only this much..the nurse took her away and all he could do was just wish and pray!
He opened his eyes and fresh layer of tears appeared in his eyes!!! even after this..how can he just accept anyone in his life?
Geet just lay on her bed..dia and namra were fast asleep! She kept staring at the ceiling aimlesslyâŚ. Just a signature and everything changed between them..and the saddest part..she can't even tell him what she felt!!!!
