Madh Island may be a tourist spot for many but for Kanchi Kaul, it's quite a different story. Recently, the 'Ek Ladki Anjani Si' (Sony) actor had a dreadful experience as she shot a scene there.
"It was a romantic scene where Shakti (Anand) and I had to play with the water on the beach. But the water was so dirty, that the shoot turned out to be a nightmare," Kanchi confesses.
Infuriated she says, "It was supposed to be a lovey-dovey scene as part of the honeymoon episode. But the water was as bad as those passing sewage pipes." Not surprising then, shooting for the scene was way too difficult. "I ended up scrubbing my legs for a good half an hour after the shoot!" she adds.
So why didn't they change locations? "Changing the location was out of question as we had deadlines to meet."
But the actor is quick to point out that it's not just the Ganesha idol immersions that are causing this menace. "I think it's the oil tankers more than anything else. What else can explain the black dirty water? In any case, I hope I don't have to go to Madh Island anytime soon," she signs off.
