@Red: đŸ€— đŸ€— (Aww...this calls for Double Hug, Dil se...for my chattan that became moum after ages...😛)

I read you, pal...Somewhere the orphan in her is always begging for attention...hoping her malleability will win her man over. With Yash she tried not to be what she was with Prashant...and she was happy even...loving without expectation gave her certain freedom. There was a sense of a liberated spirit in her those days (Mumbai)...She started to expect when she came to know about the baby and after Yash himself had atoned. And when that happened, she became scared...of her expectations and Yash's reaction. Prashant had pushed her aside and walked off...this time she didn't give Yash a chance to do that. She left instead. I completely agree with Samana here...in a twisted way she tried to make Yash atone for Prashant's cruelty and unfairness.

@INDU AND JIKKY- wonderful discussions. Indu you may proceed that Arti needed the attention coz she grew ur as an orphan but Imho its not attention seekingness its her feelings for her to be born baby AYUSH. Earlier it was PRASHANTH who ditched her during her preg, now she wants her new child to get a cent percent love from Yash. She dint want her child to loose the love like Ansh. I agree with you jikky let Yash search for Arti and absence may make miss her more.

Y did not want attention when he did get it he made aarti go

Both P and Y did not spare a thought for Aarti. Is all ME ME ME.
So Aarti is but a pawn in the game of chess the men are playing. She is just being what a wife is expected of being adjusting and amicable. You know like she said water taking shape of the vessel. She is totally blameless according to me.

Hey Deepti.

I think that is the most convincing argument I have seen about Aarti's situation and her life, post marriage no1 and marriage no 2. Of course also because it fits in well with my perception of her situation although I won't say she is totally blameless. 😆

Also, I think about how our society defines a woman's or a wife's role in a marriage and a husband's too is significant. Our Indian society has taught us from time immemorial that women are supposed to be the care givers and the men the providers. In our society this view holds true wether the woman is like Pari (independent, career minded) or the woman is like Aarti or Vidhi (who enjoys domesticity). Unfortunately, its a limited view of our roles in a relationship yet it is the prevalent view, something that is very hard to shed off. If you look at Aarti's marriages through this lens, I feel it is ironic that Aarti was the one who stayed true to how the society has defined her role and its both her husbands who didn't. Yet, in her first marriage, it was her the society blamed for the breakdown of the relationship and if her second marriage breaks down the society would still blame her and not anyone else.

DISCLAIMER: I am not saying that, that is how we all define ourselves in a relationship yet there is no denying that the society plays a role in shaping who we are. And hence the significance of that statement Aarti made of water taking the shape of the vessel. In my (probably very debatable) opinion both her husbands failed her and not the other way round.

@All, I think I have read some of the fantastic discussions ever on DC. Hopefully I can put down some of my thoughts over the weekend. I think the CVs are gearing towards a custody battle. How fascinating. I kept thinking about how I would deal with this case if I were to be Prashant's lawyer. đŸ€Ł

Imagine the ammunition he has against Aarti and Yash in terms of negligence:

1) Ansh Kidnapping
2) Yash's madness when Aarti was forced to take the kids away in fear of the effect Yash's behavior has on them.
3) The most recent runaway
4) and if Prashant truly decides to go with me as his lawyer then I would also include the fact that the kids were taken to the boxing ring to watch their Dad get mindlessly beaten by another guy on steroids. 😡

And so many other ethical questions arise: If a man has truly reformed, does he not deserve a second chance? I mean our scriptures and human ethics always proposes second chances. This show is about second chances too. So, in spite of all of Prashant's crimes does he deserves a second chance, that is if he has truly reformed and is repenting?

Another Disclaimer: I have no clue if Prashant has reformed or not but these are interesting questions to contemplate.

I think Aarti loves the idea of being in love like most girls. When she is in love, she gets all hyper coz in her insane mind she thinks when in love you should be like so and so. Like most girls she looses herself in that idea of love, which has lead her to where she is. It is a flaw in her system not being able to assess the situation properly. Like most girls, Aarti would be yearning for a fairy tale love story, which is why she thought Yash was her Prince Charming or Knight in Shinning Armour. 😛 (he wld look nice riding on a horse like a prince though😳)

Perhaps being like Indu said an orphan she feel that she needs to throw herself onto the person she loves. The fact she left is also related to the fact she is an orphan, the fact Yash cast her away, made her felt unwanted and emotional bruised, she felt unwanted like an orphan, which is why she took Ansh with her as he is the only prove she isn't all alone in this world. The new baby is also a sense of belonging for her too.đŸ€”

In a way she is like Yash only the other way around đŸ€”
I mean he is so obsessed with Arpita (who makes me đŸ„±) coz he think Arpita is the ultimate love, devotion and woman. Perhaps he never knew what is love really and think what he had with Arpita was the perfect fairy tale, so no one else can even come close. Yash is also lost in his idea of love without realising that love doesn't have a particular definition.

The only true love is the one we God has for us and how we love the All Mighty, everything else secondary. 😊
