AT KHANNA HOUSE

Angad is lying on his bed with his injured arm resting on a soft cushion…he is looking at the ceiling and the accident scene flashes across his mind…..Kripa's obvious concern…her tearful eyes and her feelings written large over her face disturb Angad a lot…..

ANGAD(thinking to himself):" Kripa ka jhooth uske chehre par kyun nahiin dikhaayi deta?......agar usne mujhse kabhi pyaar nahiin kiya aur jaisa Mom kehti hai, woh vaisi hai to use itni fikr kyun hai meri?....aur main? Mujhe kya ho jaata hai use apne saamne dekhkar….main uske saath is tarah kyun behave karta hoon? Mujhe uski kisi baat se koi farak nahiin panda chaahiye lekin farak padta hai…..DAMN YOU KRIPA!"

As Angad is lost in his thoughts, his landline rings and he is surprised to see the number flashing on the Caller-ID.

With a smirk on his face, he picks the call….

ANGAD(signature arrogance):" Hello."

Kripa's heart skips a beat as she hears Angad's voice and she can't bring herself to utter a word.She feels awkward.

ANGAD(grinning boyishly):" Wow, Kripa.Mujhe nahiin pata tha ki tum mujhse itna pyaar karti ho ki aadhi raat mein mujhe crank calls dene lagogi…ye hua na pyaar."

Kripa is taken aback by Angad's recognition of her identity and seems to lose balance for a second but her old defiance immediately leaps forth………….

KRIPA(tartly ):" Excuse me? Pyaar? Tum kya apne-aapko Majnu aur mujhe Laila samajhte ho?,,,,,,,,(PAUSES)…..Tumhe kaise pata chala ki mera phone hai?"

ANGAD(fingering the Caller-ID screen):" Technology, Kripa Sharma.Tumhaare brains kya summer holiday par gaye hain…..phone kyun kiya? Mere saath obsession ho gaya hai kya?"

KRIPA:"Tum apne dimag ki fikr karo jo hamesha garam rehta hai, samjhe?.....Maine insaaniyat ke naate phone kiya tha…ye poocchne ke liye ki tumhaara haath kaisa hai, superhero?"

ANGAD(sitting up):"Wow…bas yahi kamee thi…Kripa Maata ke insaaniyat par prawachan…how pedestrian!.....main theek hoon…zinda hoon….unfortunately!..aur tum(he moves a little and his arm aches)…ouch!"

KRIPA(alarmed):" Angad! Hello?Are you alright…kya hua tumhe?"

ANGAD(wincing):"Kucch nahiin. Bas thoda sa dard ho raha hai…..ab phone par hi chipki rahogi kya? Let me sleep."

KRIPA(relieved):" Haan-haan rockstar.Jaakar so jaao…apne pet pomerian ke saath."

She bangs the phone down on Angad and he also slams the phone down and slides under his sheets….muttering and cursing Kripa.
