Part 3
Long Night of Emotions
Its been long night for entire team of ETF. Riya drove to her place and park the car outside her apartment. She looked at Asmani sleeping in the back. She lift her up and carry her inside their apartment and place her on the bed.
She start caressing Asmani's forehead and same time tear role down her face. She might be the best Mom in her daughter's world, but she herself is very weak from inside and misses her mother. She looked at her mother's picture "Mom, why did you leave me in the hands of that monster who destroyed your daughter's life and yet I can't hate the person who gave me another life in the forum of Asmani. I can't hate him" tears finally turning into devastated flood pouring down her face "I can't love him... can't live with him... but I can't see the pain in my daughter's eye for her father. She doesn't tell me, but I know she is dying inside to meet her father and gather his love into our lives" she looked at her mother's picture with pain effecting her deeply inside "and frame us in happy family. I don't have the heart to destroy my daughter's happiness" Riya wipe her tears.
Riya heard door bell and knew her Dada came to check upon her like always after she moved out of his flat. She cleared her tears and fixed herself up before rushing to open the door.
Riya without looking she said "Dada, what took you so long when we left together?"
Voice: I ain't your Dada
Riya look upwards... froze on the spot... only for awhile...than reacted strangely... she pulled him inside and trash him inside her bedroom.

Far away in small town in Mumbai... there is tiny house and inside three figures playing in the dark. Two figure ran away hiding while third person is counting, but the counting turn into horrifying scream.

Riya listen to her Dada patiently, but her mind is inside her room. She kept on thinking why is her past coming back now after she started to understand her present without her past anymore.
Riya's Dada: What's wrong? Ritz
Riya: Nothing Dada, but just worried about Asmani and if I am not beside her than she's wake up crying otherwise I don't mine chatting the entire night away with you Dada.
Riya's Dada: You are right... I'll leave now and see you at work tomorrow.
Riya hug her Dada...
(If you haven't figure out who is Riya's Dada than its Rathore. Rathore is her Masi's son, but more like her father figure. You'll learn more - once things progress).
Riya rush inside her room and saw her past looking at her and her daughter's pictures...
Riya grip the handle tightly.
Riya: Why are you here? Why now?
Riya notice him snapping out of him thoughts and looked at her. As if he's trying to study her and her daughter who is sleeping peacefully.
Finally Riya heard his voice "why have you stop wearing your marriage symbols" he asked her.
Riya: Why should I wear them when my marriage itself doesn't have meaning in our lives.
She looked at him.
He looked at her.
Riya looked at her daughter for moment "can we please talk outside because I don't want my daughter to wake up" he nod his head. While walking out he looked at Asmani and her innocence just kept on questioning him.
1:00am
He stood looking out the window while Riya still inside the room. He kept on thinking about the past. He can't believe one lie changed his entire life. He hates the moment his life shattered because of that lie.
Riya came out and found him staring out the window "seriously, Arjun why are you here" she asked him.
Arjun turn around and look at Riya.
Riya: Why are you here? Why now? I've finally learn to establish my life and now you are back. Why? Why now? Why?
Arjun: I don't now what life has stored for us anymore. I won't seek your forgiveness; but one question haunts me.
Riya: What question?
Arjun: Why didn't you tell me that you were pregnant when you left? Would you think I would have let you go? If I knew about Asmani?
Riya: Would you have believe me? If I told you that I was pregnant what would have you done?
Arjun doesn't have answer...
Riya: I know, what you would have suggest that I abort the child. What changed now Arjun? What?
Arjun kept silent.
Riya: If you don't have any answer to my question than leave. I don't want my daughter to know that you are her father. Let her just know you as her uncle nothing more. Otherwise she'll built up hopes and I can't shatter her hopes.. If she ask about you.
Arjun: I won't make any denials that I was blind behind a lie. I won't say that I wasn't wrong at the moment or anything that harms you; but if I have your permission than may I please stay here with you and our daughter. I've only met her today' but every time I look in her eyes. They question me. I just want to be apart of her life now. I now its hard for you, but the sake of our daughter. I promise I won't tell her anything until you agree with me.
Riya just stood numb. She doesn't know if she should give him another chance or forget him and move on. She saw her mother's picture and remember her words. She closed her eyes and saw Asmani's face. Her expression shows how much she misses her father. She never told her, but she can notice the empties in her eyes.
Riya snap open her eyes "you are right... its hard for me to say anything at the moment... I need some time" he look at her with hopes "take much time as you want" he told her.
Riya and Arjun froze the moment they heard Asmani crying and kept on shouting for her father.
Automatically, Arjun's eyes got moist.
Riya rush inside her room and saw Asmani sitting on the bed (rubbing her eyes) and kept on asking for her father. Riya felt helpless. She tried calming Asmani down. Every night she would make up crying for her father. Riya look outside her room and saw Arjun standing there with moist eyes. She knew her one reply can change many things either if she liked it or not.
Riya lift Asmani in her arms "enough princess enough" she look at Arjun "if you keep on crying than your Dad will go away" Asmani stop crying and look at her mother with many questions in her eyes.
Asmani: Dad? You mean Dad is here to meet me? Where is he?
Riya: Look outside our room
Asmani turn her head toward the door and saw Arjun standing there. Arjun had tears in his eyes. Asmani isn't surprise because her heart knew Arjun is her father.
Asmani whisper in her mother's ear.
Riya put Asmani on the floor.
Asmani ran toward Arjun.
Arjun kneel down on the ground and Asmani flung herself in Arjun's arm "Dad" only words escape out of her mouth.
Riya just looked at the father and daughter moment with a smile. Her smile isn't from her heart, but she is happy for her daughter. Asmani means the world to her and if she is happy with Arjun in their lives than she herself doesn't have a a problem.
Arjun hugged her tightly and kissed her all-over-the-face. Asmani also kissed him on the cheek "Dad, you won't leave me anymore" she asked him.
Arjun look at Riya...
Riya look away wipe her tears than she walk toward Asmani and cup her face "princess, why do you fear because we won't let Dad go any where anymore, but you have to promise me that you won't call him Dad at our work" both Asmani and Arjun look at her with confusion.
2:30am
Riya doesn't know how to explain her daughter, but she doesn't want anyone to know about her relation with Arjun because she hasn't forgave him for his deeds... only on the sake of her daughter.
Asmani: Mom, why can't I call him my dad like others kids do?
Riya sighs
And she lift Asmani in her arms "because not every kids have Mamu like you and we haven't told him yet about your Dad's return" Arjun look at them "do you want your Mamu throw your Dad out" Asmani shook her head negatively "than you have to promise me" Asmani nod her head (positively). Riya kissed Asmani's forehead.
Riya: Now be good girl and give your Dad a hug before Mom make your milk ready than I put you in bed. Tomorrow you can't miss school.
Asmani lift her arm toward Arjun...
Arjun took Asmani in his arms while Riya went to paperer the milk for Asmani after she made Asmani drink her milk. Once Asmani finish her milk Riya try putting her to sleep, but she won't sleep. She kept on looking at Arjun.
Riya sighs again.
Arjun: Riya, I think I should leave now
Minute those words hit Asmani's ear. She start crying. Riya looked terrified even Arjun.
Together they ask Asmani what's wrong.
Asmani: Dad, you said that you won't leave me than why are you talking about going. Please don't leave me. You know people at my school say that I am bad girl because my father doesn't love me.
Arjun took Asmani in his arms "nahiin beta, I am not leaving you anymore lekin I don't have my things here. Its at my place" while talking to her and cradling her same time. She already fell asleep.
Riya move aside and let Arjun place Asmani on the bed. Also tucked her tightly and kissed her forehead.
Riya lead Arjun out of her room. She close door behind. Arjun look at her and thanked her with his eyes.
Riya: If you can come around 7:30 in the morning when I wake Asmani up for school she won't panic if she doesn't find you beside her. I hope you don't mind.
Arjun: I don't mind, but I don't understand why you restrict Asmani to call me Dad outside your home.
Riya: If you are thinking that I am not happy about your arrival in Asmani's life than its nothing like that, but I need time to except our relation again in publice; and plus if Dada come to know that you are the same person who gave his sister pain. I don't know how he'll react.
Arjun: I understand and its not easy for you to forgive me. Take your time. At least I get to be apart of Asmani's life. It means a-lot to me.
Riya: Alright, but what do you want us to do. I mean should me and Asmani shift to your place or you should come here.
Arjun: We'll decide tomorrow. Its already very late. See you tomorrow.
Riya: Yeah. Goodnight
Arjun: Goodnight
Riya close the door after Arjun left. She went inside her room and slept peacefully beside Asmani.
