Here is Part 4.

Part 4

It was morning and Khushi got ready for morning puja. She wore a beautiful yellow sari with red border. Payal and Khushi went down to the Mandir. Everyone was already present except Arnav. He never came for morning arti. Anjali looked at Khushi and smiled.

Anjali – " Kushiji aaj arti aap kijiye"

Khushi took the plate containing diya from Anjali and was about to begin when a voice called from behind." Wait". Everyone turned and saw Arnav standing on the stairs. He was wearing a white kurta pajama. He came down to the Mandir. Everybody was staring at him. He looked at everybody with a questioning look in his eyes.

Arnav – " What? Why r u all staring at me?"

Anjali – " Chottey how come u came for the morning arti?"

Arnav – " Well di, it is the first day of our marriage and so the newly wed couple will have do the arti. Isn't it."

Everybody just stared with their mouths open.

Arnav – " Well Khushi can't do this arti alone can she?"

He went to Khushi and held the plate she was holding with his right hand. Khushi just stared at him and he smiled.

Arnav – " Should we start the arti now?"

They did the arti together.

After the puja Anjali took Khushi to the Kitchen for another ritual called "Chauka Pujan" in which Khushi had to make some sweet. Khushi made jalebi's. Then came the "Muh Dekhai". The whole day passed in completing the rituals. Arnav was really restless. He had not seen Khushi since after lunch. God knows how many more rituals were left? Ultimately the night came.

Arnav was sitting in his room working on his laptop. Well not really working because he kept looking at the door every 10 secs. When will she come? Then he heard some footsteps. He concentrated on his laptop and started typing vigorously without even knowing what he was typing. Then the door opened and Arnav's heartbeat started beating wildly. She came close and he looked so hard at the screen of the laptop that his eyes started watering. Well he would not let her know how restless he was for her. Then her hand came on his shoulder and he smiled at the screen of the laptop. "Chotey". Arnav jerked his head up and saw Anjali standing in front of him.

Arnav – " Di ?"

Anjali – " Yes! What happened?"

Arnav – " N..No! Nothing!"

Anjali smirked.

Anjali – " Chotey u will have to leave the room for a while."

Arnav – " Why ?"

Anjali – " Don't ask questions. Just go."

Arnav (sighed) – "Okay!"

He picked up his laptop and left.

As he left NK and Akash entered the room with flowers. They decorated the room and bed with flowers. After the decoration was done Payal brought Khushi into the room. Khushi was wearing a red and pink bridal lehenga and a heavy ruby set. She was looking very beautiful but she was really nervous. Anjali smiled at Khushi and took her to the bed. She made Khushi sit on the bed and looked at her. Anjali could tell that Khushi was really nervous. She was clutching her dupatta so tightly that her knuckles had become white. Anjali looked at Payal and they both frowned at each other.

NK –" Di should we call Nannav?"

Anjali nodded her head and NK and Akash went out.

Anjali sat near Khushi and held her ice cold hands in hers. She looked strangely at Khushi.

Anjali – " Khushiji r u alright?"

Khushi –"Yes."

Anjali frowned and then comprehension dawned on her. Khushi was a virgin. Her nervousness was that of a virgin bride. So they did not cross their limits in those 6 months and dadi had called Khushi a characterless girl. Anjali smiled at Khushi tenderly.

Anjali – " Don't worry Khushiji. It will be all right."

Khushi looked at Anjali with a confused look. Anjali smiled and then went out with Payal.

Khushi was really afraid. In other circumstances Khushi would have been nervous but not this much. A part of her wanted to belong to him and another part was repulsed by the way he had treated her amma. Tonight she had to resist him. She would not give herself to a man who insulted her amma even if she loved him. She knew that if he touched her she would melt in his arms and then she will not be able to stop him. She had to do something fast. Think Khushi. Suddenly she heard footsteps outside the door and then the door opened.

Arnav entered the room and saw the decoration. His eyes moved to the bed. His bride was lying on the bed facing the other side. He went on the other side of the bed and saw her face. He saw that her eyes were tightly shut. She was faking sleep.

Khushi could feel that Arnav was standing above her. her heart started to beat faster. Then she felt that he was coming closer. Probably he was leaning over her. His breath was fanning her ears. She had started feeling hot because of his nearness. She shut her eyes very tightly. Her face was hot and she knew she was blushing. Then she felt his finger touch her nose.

Arnav (whispered in her ears)– " Its red again."

Khushi did not open her eyes. Suddenly she felt cold, as his breath could no longer be felt. Then she heard the bathroom door. She opened her eyes and saw that she was alone in the room. Khushi smiled a little. So he knew she was not asleep and yet he didn't do anything. She was relieved and slept.

Arnav came out after sometime and saw that Khushi was sleeping. This time her sleep was real. He smiled and got into the bed beside her.

Khushi and Arnav are sleeping entwined with each other. Both are sleeping on their sides facing each other. Khushi's right leg is on Arnav's legs and her hand is on his left ear. Arnav's right hand is on Khushi's bare waist as her dupatta is lost somewhere in the bed. Their faces r so close that their lips r almost touching.

WHEN I STARTED I DIDN'T KNOW THAT IT WOULD BECOME SUCH A LONG OS. DO U THINK I SHOULD CUT IT SHORT.
