Okay so gr8 news!! Oyshee said she'll pakka update within tomorrow night!! okay, i know thats not good enough like an update, but still yaaron, at least pata toh chala kab update karegi!!

Manyata's lips pressed into a hard line as she stared coldly at them: Akash, with a self-righteous smile plastered across his face, was approached them. His parents, whom the world now new as Chawdhry's long distance-cousin-brother and his wife, stood timidly behind them, with Chikki and Soni on either side of them. Chikki looked scared; Soni was worried: they were expecting an outburst anytime now. But she surprised them by smiling, and at her reply, Giriraj held his head high and Unnati smiled , both proud of her.
Manyata: Bilkul Mr. Chawdhry. Aur rishton mein aisa pyar aapko kahi aur dikhega bhi nahi. Woh kya hain na, hum sab rajwade hain. Hum harr rishte ko poori imaadari se, aur shaan nibhatein hain.
A: Aap rajwadon ke rishte toh hotey hi niraaley hain. Aap ke liye kaun kab kaise apna bann jaata hain, aur apne paraye, yeh koi nahi keh sakta.
Manyata: Koi apne apno ko apnane mein kitna bhi der karein, apne humesha apne hi rehtein hain. Jo apne hone ka daawa karke aapka istemaal karne ki koshish kare, woh kabhi bhi kisike nahi ho sakte.
Akash's face went cold for a second, his eyes burning with fury at the authority in her voice. His rigidness earned him an anxious touch from his mother, requesting him to stop, which he ignored completely.
A: Fayda uthaya, logo ke jasbaaton ke saath khelna toh aap rajwadon ke kahi showkon mein se ek hain. Tabhi toh aap inn sab baaton ke baarein mein itni samajh rakhti hain.
Manyata: Showk nahi, zimmedaari kahiye Mr. Chawdhry. Ek riyasat ko chalaane ke liye, harr tarah ki jaankari rakhna zaruri hota hain.
"Aapne bilkul sahi kaha Manyata"
Unnati heaved a sigh of relief as Rajmata made her way towards them, she wasn't comfortable at the way the conversation was heading. Chawdhry appeared suddenly, with the gleam missing from his face, while the Vermas stood straighter. Chikki and Soni took a step back, shrinking at her presence.
DS: Ek riyasat ko safalta ke saath chalaane ke liye, harr kism ki jaankaari rakhna bohot zaruri hota hain.
Chawdhry: Namaste Rajmata. Namaste Mahraj.
The Vermas and Chikki and Soni raised their hands in a Namaste, following Chawdhry; while theirs were timid and respecting, his was cold. Akash didn't bother to acknowledge her with a greeting.
Giriraj: Namaste.
DS: Aayi Chawdhry-sahb, aap sab ka swagat hain. Aap aaj humaari khushi mein shareek hone aaye, hume bohot accha laga.
Chawdhry: Aap bulaaye aur hum na aaye aisa kaise ho sakta hain. Waise kaafi acchi party hain.
Mrs. Verma: Haan bohot acchi party hain.
DS: Shukriya. Waise aaj ki party ka poora shreh, humaari Manyata ko jaata hain. Saari tayaariyan innhone ki.
Manyata smile finally as Daadi-sahb put a hand on her shoulder and beamed at her.
Chawdhry: Hum zara cchoti rajkumari ko badhai de karr aate hain. Afterall, hum sab aaj unke khaas din ka jasn mananeke liye yaha ikattha huye hain.
Manyata was about to follow them when DS stopped her, looking at her with concern.
DS: Beta aap theek toh hain na? Hume maaf karr dijiye beta. Hume inn logo ko bulaana para, aap toh jaanti hain na..
Manyata: Daadi-sahb. Aap bilkul fikar mat kijiye! Hum bilkul theek hain. Hum samajh sakte hain aapne innhein kyu balaaya, aur innse hume koi farq nahi parta.
These were the times when Rajmata realized how proud Manyata always made her. She caressed her face and she smiled.
Manyata: Daadi-sahb, hum zara J se milke aate hain.
DS: Theek hain beta.
After Unnati and Manyata rounded the corner, Giriraj went up to her and put a hand on her shoulder.
Giriraj: Aap fikar mat kijiye Maa-sahb. Humaari Manyata bohot samajhdaar hain. Inn sab cchoti-moti baton ka unparr koi asar nahi hoga.
Rajmata nodded in agreement, still thinking of ways to keep Akash out her way tonight while Manyata and Unnati hurried towards J.

Jainandini
Okay..so I can't even enjoy my engagement day at peace! He walks upto me, smirking in a way that makes me want to punch him. I would have, Really. If only I wasn't in my engagement party surrounded by family, friends and socialites!
A: Congratulations Jainandini.
I nod, grinding my teeth. What the hell is he doing here?!! I see his parents turn up after him, accompanied by Chawdhry, with Chikki and Soni behind. I smile the courtesy smile at them.
A: Toh finally tumhaari saggai ho rahi hain.
Me: Haan Akash'oops, Aryan. Aaj toh tum Aryan banke aaye ho na? Ya koi aur koi naam hain jo hume nahi pata.
He came up closer, dropping his voice to almost a whisper.
A: Ek baat bato J, tumhaare iss naye aashiq ko tumhaare ateet ke bare mein pata hain ya phir humesha ki tarah isse bhi dhoka de rahi ho? Socha hain, agar usse tumhaare kartooton ke barein mein pata chal gaya toh woh tumhaare bare mein kya sochega? Kya woh yeh shadi karna chahega?
Wow'so he is threatening me. Old habits die hard. Too bad boy, coz no one blackmails J. I am about to give him a well deserved reply but I don't have too. Manyata does that for me. I look at her; she is standing beside me, face composed, eyes straight at him. She's really good at these condescending glares.
Manyata: Tumhe fikar karne ki koi zarurat nahi hain Akash. Kisko kitna pata hain, kisko kitna batana hain, kya batana hain, yeh humaara maamla hain, tumhe bother karne ki koi zarurat nahi hain.
We look at each other, and giving him the cold shoulder, leave them behind with him glaring after us. But his words are bothering me. I knew he thinks of me as a traitor'that I back-stabbed him by changing myself, but did he really expect me to go against my family? Did he really expect me to help him destroy the kingdom where I was born? How idiotic was that? I mended my ways, was that such a big criminal offense? I'm not that selfish to betray Devgarh'at least not anymore. Manyata's voice brought me back:
Manyata: J?
Me: DS ko inn sab ko bulaane ki kya zarurat tthee?
Manyata: Tu jaanti hain na Daad-sahb kya kehti hain?
Okay I did know DS's mantra: Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer. But that didn't stop my mood from ruining from Akash's presence. I frowned at her.
Manyata: Tu fikar mat karr J. Akash jaise log sirf bhowkna jaante hain. Woh humaara kuch nahi bigaar sakta.
Me: Hum jaante hain Jiji magar..
Manyata: Magar-wagar kuch nahi. Tujhe apne Jiji pe bharosa hain na?
I nod.
Manyata: Toh bass phir. Tu bass khush reh, apni party enjoy karr. Iss Akash ko hum sambhal lenge. Aur tu akeli kya karr rahi hain? Karan kaha hain?
"Banda aapki kismat mein haazir hain"
We turned around to see him grinning at us, accompanied by Vijay Bhai. Manyata and Vijay-bhai exchanged a grin, while I shook my head.
Manyata: kismat mein nahi khidmat mein.
Karan: Err..haan, wahi.
Manyata: Jiju-sahb, aaj aapka roka hain aur aaj hi aap humaari behen ko chorke yaha-waha bhatak rahein hain. Yeh sahi nahi hain.
Karan: Ab kya kare saali-sahiban, aapki behen hume bhao de na de, hum apne saale-sahb ko toh ignore nahi karr sakte. Saari khuda ek taraf, aur biwi ka bhai ek taraf.
He grinned and winked at Vijay Bhai, who smiled goofily at him, then me while I smacked at his arm.
Me: Oh please, hum tumhe ignore nahi karr rahein, tum doosri ladkiyon ki taraf dekh rahein tthe. Aur humaari shaadi huyi nahi hain by the ways.
Karan: Huyi nahi toh kya huya, ho jayegi. Uss mein kitna time hain?
Me: Zara sambhal ke, kahi aisa na ho ke hum mana karr de.
Vijay Bhai: Come on you two! Abhi abhi roka huya hain, aur romance karne ki jagah larayi karr rahein ho! Both of you are just impossible! Hain na Manyata bhai?...Manyata bhai?
Manyata: Huh?..Haan. Vijay-Bhai bilkul sahi keh rahein hain. Kya karr rahein ho tum dono? Now both of you, dance floor pe jao aur ek dance karo! Go!

Sanjeevani Parking Lot
Raveena stood in the parking lot, lost in thoughts when the sleek silver Mercedes parked beside her. The horn broke her reverie and she glared at the driver as she took a seat beside him inside.
Raveena: Dada, yeh hospital hain. Aap bhool gaye kya?
Rajeev grinned at her as she started the engine.
Rajeev: Nahi bhoole. Aur humne itni zor se bhi horn nahi bajayi ke awaaz bahar tak sunayi de.
Raveena: Lekin bajayi toh.
Rajeev: The real fun always lies in twisting rules, I have mentioned that before, haven't I Ravi ;D
Raveena: Aap kabhi nahi sudhroge! Kabhi nahi!
Rajeev: Agar hum sudhar gaye toh tumhaara yeh..yeh aise apae tereh-mereh sakal banaane ka aadat choot jayega..aur..
Raveena: Haan haan samajh gaye! Pata hain aapko, aapke colleagues ne agar kabhi aapko hospital ke bahar dekh liya toh woh sab toh behosh hi ho jayenge!
Rajeev: Aur tumhaare colleagues boredom se marr jayenge! I just don't get this sometimes!! Humaari behen hoke tum itni boring kaise ho?
Raveena: Hum boring nahi hain Dada!
Rajeev: Waise tumhaara woh patient kaisa hain? Kya number thaa woh..ha..patient no.101.
Raveena: He's better now. He's recovering. Bohot bara sadma hain Dada, apne aap ko na pehchaan paana. But he seems to take it sportingly. Himmat waala lagta hain.
Rajeev: I'm sure. He'll be fine Ravi, don't worry.
Raveena: Hmn.
They drove a while in silence, both thinking of patient 101. Finally, Raveena spoke.
Raveena: Dada, Karu bhai se baat ki aapne?
Rajeev: Kaka-sa se baat ho chuki hain humaari. Humne unhe bataa diya.
Raveena: Parr kya aapne Karu bhaiya se baat ki?
Rajeev: Umn..
Raveena: Matlab baat nahi kii.
He nodded.
Raveena: Aapko pata hain na abhi kya hone waala hain?
Rajeev: Don't worry.
Raveena: He's you're best bud! Aapko jaana chahiye tthaa.
Rajeev: And 101 is my patient. Hum unhe chorke nahi jaa sakte tthe.
Raveena nodded.
Rajeev: Don't fret Ravv. Hum next week jaa rahe hain na, we'll think of something! Aur tu hain na!
Raveena: Haan, haan. Aur banyiye hume bali ka bakra!
Rajeev: Cchoti behne hoti kis liye hain?
Raveena: Ah well. I'll think of something. As always.
Rajeev: Yeh huyi na baat!
Raveena: Waise hume aapki unn se bhi toh milna hain..
For the rest of the ride home, Rajeev had his jaws tight shut while Raveena snickered away.

Manyata watched and beamed at J as she approached the dance floor with Karan, hand in hand. Sometimes they reminded her of her and Uday. The way they sometimes bickered, for one, was quite childish. Just like they were.
"Kya soch rahi ho?"
Manyata turned her head to see Unnati looking at her. She smiled and took her hand.
Manyata: Tum dance nahi karr rahi?
Unnati: Yeh humaare sawaal ka jawaab nahi hain!
Manyata let out a sighed laughed.
Manyata: Tumhe pata hain tumhaari sabse acchi, sabse khaas baat kya hain Unnati?
Unnati: Kya Manyata?
Manyata: Kabhi kabhi tum bilkul apne Dada jaisi baat karti ho!
Unnati's throat tightened at this, but she managed to somehow maintain a straight face.
Manyata: Aur tumhaari ek aur baat Uday jaisi hain. Tum bhi hume zarurat se zyada samajhti ho:)
Unnati: Ab sabko samajh ne ki responsibility tumhaari toh nahi hain na. Kisi na kisiko toh tumhe bhi samajhna parega!
Manyata: Tumhe yaad hain Uday ke accident ke baad, party waali subha?
Unnati: Of course :D Woh dinn hum kabhi nahi bhool sakte :D Tumhaara chehra toh dekhne layak thaa.
Manyata nodded, smiling at the memory..
Flashback...
A week after Uday woke up, Manyata found herself inside the convention room, standing front of Vijay, her posture tense. She was going to pieces, and the grime face of Vijay she was facing wasn't really helping with her confidence. She had no idea Unnati and Jai were laughing silently behind her.
Manyata: Do I really need to do this?
Vijay: Yes.
Manyata: Magar yeh toh aap aur Unnati bhi karr sakte ho na Vijay Bhai!
Vijay: Karr sakte hain, magar Naani-sahb ne specifically tumhe chuna hain, iss liye stop grimacing! Come on, let's do it again.
Manyata: Mujhse yeh nahi hota..!!..Normal ball dance tak toh theek hain, magar yeh salsa-valsa mujhse nahi hoga!
Vijay: Manyata!
Manyata: Please Vijay Bhai..samjho na!! Dekho, mere toh pairon mein already dard karr raha hain. Kuch karo na!! Daadi-sahb ko samjhao na, Please!!..
Vijay: Ab tum humse aise baat mat karo! Tum jaanti ho agar tum hume aise request karogi toh hum mana nahi karr payenge aur'iss baar hum tumhe ha nahi keh sakte! Naani-sahb ke orders hain Manyata! Hume tum marwaana chahti ho kya?
Manyata: Vijay Bhai..
"Vijay Banna ka dimaag kyun khaa rahi ho? Tum jaanti ho na woh kuch nahi karr sakte?"
Manyata looked towards the door and saw him lounging against it. Catching her eye, Uday grinned at her and walked towards them. Standing between her and Vijay, he took her hand and pulled her to him, placing her other palm over his shoulder.
Manyata: Uday..?..
Vijay: Ab theek hain. Ab tum dono practice karo, hum Unnati ke saath reherse karte hain.
Uday winked at him, and Manyata gave both incredulous stares.
Manyata: Vijay Bhai, kya aaj aap dono subha subha hi shuru ho gaye?
Uday rolled his eyes and Vijay shook his head, clearly not amused.
Uday: Manyata..
Manyata: Nahi really! Tum abhi dance karoge? I can still see your bruises Uday! Aur Vijay Bhai aap? Aap maan bhi gaye?
Vijay: Kyunki humaara paas aur koi option nahi hain. Agar hum tumhe iss tarah sikhaate rahein toh hamaari poori umra nikal jayegi! Aur agar aaj tumne dance nahi kiya sham ko, toh Naani-sahb hume gharse nikaal dengi! Uday abhi theek hain, aur Uday ke saath tumhe bilkul time nahi lagega, trust me!
Manyata: Parr Vjay Bhai, Uday..
Uday: Oh come on princess! Hum theek hain!!
Reluctantly, she agreed as Uday pulled her towards the center, providing space for Unnati and Vijay. After a few minutes though, as she moved along with him, trying to get the hold of the savvy steps, she agreed it wasn't that bad an idea. Soon, they matched each other's rhythm, and finally, Manyata began to smile.
After a twirl, Uday pulled her close, and whispered in her ear:
Uday: Dekha Princess, itna mushkil bhi nahi hain.
Manyata chuckled.
Manyata: Woh iss liye ke main tumhaare saath dance karr rahi hoon. Pichle teen ghante se Vijay Bhai ke saath bhi yahi karne ki koshish karr rahi tthee..
Another twirl followed, then a dip.
Uday: Aaj raat ho bhi tum humaare saath hi dance karne waali ho.
Manyata: Hmn.
After a while, the song changed, and the opening tunes of "Jee Le.." filled to room, she put her head over his shoulder and his hands held her a bit too close than the general distance.
Manyata: I can get used to this.
Uday: It's quite easy isn't it?
Manyata: Hum dance ki baat nahi karr rahein hain.
Uday: Accha?
Though he didn't admit, he knew she hadn't been talking about the dance; he smiled, knowing exactly what she meant. Manyata pressed herself closer to him, emphasizing what she really intended for him to understand.
Manyata: Hmn..dance toh main sirf tumhaare saath hi karr paati hoon. Tumhaare bina toh mujhse ek pair bhi hilaaya nahi jaata.
He played along, grinning.
Uday: Hmn..
Manyata: Main yeh keh rahi tthee ke..
She pressed herself to him even tighter, making his grin stretch all over his face. Her eyes closed on their own as she settled onto the comfort of his chest. Both didn't for once notice the giggles that left Unnati, or the goofy smile that Vijay was smiling.
Manyata: Yeh ehsaas..yeh khushi..humesha harr cheez mein saath hone mein. Sab kuch saath karne mein. Humesha ek saath hone mein.
He kissed the top of her head, smiling, and put his over hers.
Manyata: Being together, always. Humesha...
Uday: Humesha..
How could they have known that the age of their humesha was just a few more months.

Raj-purohit Ji was pacing in the study, deep in thoughts. For the first time in his life, he was nervous. He wasnt sure how he was supposed to break the news to Rajmata. But he knew it couldn't be dealyed. It shoudn't be delayed. Not any further. It was about Manyata..and so, it was about Devgargh. And it was about Jaigargh too. He knew he should have summoned Maharaj Giriraj as well, but now, he only awaited Rajmata. He need to discuss it with only her, he had decided later. Maharaj wasn't emotionally, or physically, fit to take what he was about to say.
His train of thoughts broke as he heard Rajmata approach, and turned around to greet her, bracing himself.
Guruji: Ghani-Khamma Rajmata.
Rajmata: Khamma-Ghani Guruji. Aapne hume bulaaya.
Guruji: Ji Rajmata. Darasal hume aapse kuch baat karni hain.
Rajmata: Ji. Aayiye. Baithiye.
Hesitantly, he took a seat across her. She sat at her throne. She noted that his face was pale, his posture tensed.
Rajmata: Aap kuch pareshan lag rahein hain.
Guruji: Ek bohot mehetwapurn vishay ke baare mein aapse charcha karni hain Rajmata.
Rajmata: Ji.
Taking a deep breath, he bagan.

Giriraj took a sip from his glass, smiled at J as she beamed at him as she danced, and as he saw Unnati walk to him, smiled at her. Unnati smiled back as she stood beside her father.
Unnati: Sirf ek hi drink ha Dad!
Giriraj: Don't worry beta, aaj ke liye ek baar pakre jaana hi kaafi hain.
Unnati: Seriously Dad, waise hi Manyata ka mood aaj kuch'aur upar se woh Akash..
Giriraj: Hum jaante hain Unnati. Lekin aap samajhti hain na, aaj ke jasn mein Chawdhrys ko bulaana..
Unnati: Important thaa. Hum jaante hain Dad. Bass hum Manyata ke liye thore tensed hain, aur kucha nahi.
Giriraj couldn't keep the curious worry out of his voice when he asked:
Giriraj: Kyun? Kya baat hain Unnati? Kahi uss Akash ne toh kuch..?..
Unnati: Nahi Dad, it's not about him. Aap ko pata hain na aaj date kya hain?
Giriraj: Hum jaante hain beta. Aaj Uday ko guzre poore..
Unnati: Dhai saal ho gaye.
Giriraj nodded, at a loss of words.
Unnati: Manyata ne kabhi hume Dada ki kami mehsoos nahi hone di magar'agar hum sab mein se koi hain, jo Dada ko sabse zyada miss karta hain, jisse apni life mein Dada ki sabse zyada zarurat hain, toh woh Manyata hi hain.
Giriraj: Aapko pata hain Unnati? Ek waqt aisa thaa, jab hume yeh lagta thaa ke Manyata'Manyata Uday ke layak nahi hain.
Unnati: Kya aap aaj bhi aisa sochte hain Dad?
Giriraj: Unnati beta, aaj hum fakr se keh sakte hain ke hum galat tthe. Udayveer ke liye Manyata se acchi humsafar, aur Jaigarh ke liye, Manyata se behtar Maharani, aur koi nahi ho sakti tthee.
Unnati nodded in agreement, while smiling internally. This wasn't a mere phrase from her dad; it was a proof how much he had changed. Giriraj had turned into the person she always wanted him to be: a person who lived his life, without schemes and plans. All of which was because of Manyata. Manyata had not only changed her brother, she thought with a smile, but she had turned the stone that was Giriraj into a compassionate person. Unnati had once told Manyata that she was the breath of fresh air in her life, and now as she watched Manyata, discussing something with Dr. Uncle and Uncle Brijraj, she once again agreed to herself that she had been much more: Manyata was truly the angel that came into her life, and forever changed it for the better.
Giriraj was also thinking along the same lines. The girl his face brightened as he saw coming towards him was the same girl he thought less of once. The very girl who's life he attempted to play with. The girl, he remembered with dismay, he forced and blackmailed once. Manyata was nothing more than a puppet to him once, and today he, Maharaj Giriraj, Maharaj of Jaigarh estate, could go to any limits for her smile- simply because if his smile remained today, it was because of her. After Uday, Manyata had not only helped him with Jaigarh business empire and estate, she had provided them- to both father daughter- what they needed the most then. She also became their support, and nursed him back to health, caring for him like his own daughter. If Manyata wasn't beside them, Giriraj knew with certainty that they would never have survived the void that Uday's death gifted them.

Sanjeevani Hospital, Delhi
Slowly I limped back inside, struggling with my limbs. They are killing me. I faintly wonder how long this condition will last. The doctor had suggested it would take a few weeks. I grimaced...weeks. I hate this. What I need most now, I feel, is a long run..or some weight lifting. Anything rigorous. But here I am, stuck within the confines of this hospital. The nurses won't even let me take a stroll out in the corridors today.
Pathetic!!
To busy scowling, I didn't notice the cabin door open.
"HI.."
I turned towards the door, and grimaced at the girl. Nice smile, I thought. Too wide, but nice nonetheless. A round face with sparkling eyes. Hair curly, waving to the waist. Cute girl. The smile turns off as soon as she notices the confused look on my face. She has too, because I am confused. Confused and surprised at the voice, distant but known..
"Mere ilaava kisi aur ke chehre ki taraf dekha na, toh.. toh... toh dekhna main kya karti hoon!!"
I know this voice. I recognize it. It seems familiar; also too close. But whose is it?
"You okay?" the girl asked.
I nodded. Turning her smile again (too big, did I mention?), she walked to my bed and sat on the plastic chair beside it.
"Well, Hi again"
"Hi" I said, or croaked. My voice was thick, scratchy and hoarse with disuse. I was hearing myself for the first time but, I wasn't sure why, it didn't sound like me. Suddenly a thought struck me, making me forget how bad I sounded, and I asked:
"Do I know you?"
"Well, not yet. But we are soon going to"
"Matlab?"
"Matlab yeh, ke jab hum dono baatein karenge, toh jaan pehchaan aise hi ho jayegi" she replied with a wink.
I raise one eye-brow.
"Aur hum baatein kyun karenge?"
"Kyunki main yaha tumse baat karne aayi hoon. I have been sent here to talk to you."
"Talk to me?"
"Yes, talk to you"
She extended a hand.
"I'm Muskaan. Dr. Muskaan Chadda, the phycotherapist. Nice to meet you"

After pushing almost everyone to enjoy a dance, Manyata had wanted a quiet corner..a bit of privacy. But fate tended to avoid her deep wishes these days. Here she was, dancing as well. But that wasn't all. The feeling was back. That pull. It felt as if he needed her. Manyata clenched her teeth, closing her eyes, trying to calm herself. Trying to stop the urge to just get out and go looking for him.
"Phir toh tum poori zindagi humse peecha nahi chura paogi. Because I'll always need you."
Manyata let out an exasperated breath, which Giriraj noticed immediately.
Giriraj: Aap kuch pareshaan lag rahi hain beta.
Manyata: Nahi Dad.
Giriraj: Aap jaanti hain aap humaare saath share karr sakti hain.
Manyata: Aisi koi baat nahi hain.
She changed the topic.
Manyata: Dad, project J-D ke bare mein aapne kya socha hain?
Giriraj: Manyata, aap abhi bhi kaam ki baatein le karr baith gayi. Aaj Jai ki sagai hain, aaj toj thora kaam se fursat le lijiye!
Manyata: Hum kaam kaha karr rahe hain? Hum toh bass aapse itna jaan-na chahte hain ke aapne iss project ke bare mein kya socha?
Giriraj: Sochna kya hain beta..we are doing it. Aap jaanti hain na? Yeh project Ud..
Manyata: Uday ne start kiya thaa. Hum jaante hain Dad. Issi liye yeh project hum karna chahte hain. Hume aapki ijazat chahiye.
Giriraj: Iss mein ijazat ki koi baat nahi hain beta. Waise bhi Jaigarh riyasat ke kaam aap hi toh sambhalti hain. Aap apne hisaab se Dhanrajgir's ke saath meeting fix ki jiye..hum pohonch jayenge!
Manyata: Ji Dad.
Giriraj: Ab kaam ki baat ho gayi, ab kya thora muskuraane ki takleef karengi?
Finally, Manyata smiled genuinely.
Manyata: Ji Dad.
Watching them converse effortlessly while dancing, the Verma's couldn't help the sense of unease that took over them. If they had agreed to attend the party, it was because they had thought someone they knew, someone who knew them, would be there: Moniya. Moniya, they remembered, had always given them their deserved respect. Had always been warm towards them. There was a time that they thought she would once be their daughter-in-law. But seeing her today, that faint ghost of hope slowly began to fade away. Today, she didn't seem like Moniya, rather she felt like Yuvrani Manyata in every sense. Not that she had been rude to them, but the daughterly warmth was gone. But what stung was that they could see it now, clearly, but not for them. For the Maharaj of Jaigargh. Chikki noticed the look of discomfort etched across their faces, and followed their gaze towards her. She saw what they were seeing, and felt a pang of sadness for them, while resentment towards her once-best-friend. She was too busy being upset, and didn't care to notice her expression.
The Vermas were comparing themselves with Giriraj, but never once the thought crossed their minds that whom they saw weren't the Yuvrani of Devgargh and Maharaj of Jaigargh, but they were watching a father whose concern was increasing with every passing moment looking at her.
Giriraj: Kya baat hain beta? Kya aapki tabiyat theek nahi lag rahi?
Manyata looked up at him suddenly, with wide eyes. It seemed as if his voice had brought her back from some sort of reverie.
Manyata: Umn..Dad, humaari tabiyat kuch theek nahi lag rahi. Kya hum kuch derr ke liye..?
Giriraj: Of course beta. Please aap kuch derr aaram karr li jiye. Hum le chala aap ko?
Manyata: Nahi Dad. Aap party enjoy ki jiye. Hum chale jayenge...Hum thori derr baad milte hain aap se.
Giriraj sighed, and shook his head in defeat.
Giriraj: Kaash hum aapko woh laake de paatte jo aapko iss waqt chahiye beta.
Manyata turned away and with difficulty, kept a normal pace as she walked out of the party. As soon as she was halfway up the stairs, away from the eyes of the guests and reporters, she broke into a sprint, breathing deeply, trying to exhale slowly, repeating the exercise again and again. Finally she let go trying to stop her stinging eyes from tearing, and they spilled as the memory came back...
FLASHBACK- 2 And Half years ago...
She was quite sure, as she woke up, that last night was not actually a dream. It couldn't have been a dream, at least plain logic said that. Not all of it!
Could all that have really happened? As she yawned, she tried to cling to the facts that couldn't have imagined. Like her being in her room. Because if she had been dreaming, she wouldn't have been here- she would have been in his room, beside him.
She felt totally content, happy; her heart felt full, oddly-at-ease again. Like it day of new sunshine after a long rainy night. She walked past the sliding glass doors to the balcony, smiling to herself. Slowly as she went to freshen up, all her thoughts consisted on one person: Udayveer.
And so, there she was after 40 minutes, at the crack of dawn, inside his room, looking at him as he slumbered peacefully. You shouldn't be here at this time, a small voice inside her head warned her. What if someone comes along? She quickly ignored the thought with a mental shrug. Who'd care to come here at this time?
J, the voice said, and her throat went dry.
I'll kill her if she did that after last night! She decided. And moreover, she really didn't think she'd be comfortable with anyone being inside his room at this hour when he was asleep. Especially, when he was sleeping without a shirt.
She gulped, noticing for the first time how perfectly toned and chiseled his body was. Strange na?, that little voice said again, when you weren't aware you weren't aware at all, now that you are, you are hyper aware of him..
A smile crept up her face as she took a seat beside him. From her vantage point, she could see the reddish line of the deep gash covering his neck: the center of the bruise was a dark red, with the skin swollen and purple around it. Seeing the bruise, she felt a pang of guilt surge through her again, and she leaned towards him and ran her fingers through his silky hair, caressing his head tentatively, and whispered.
Manyata: I'm sorry Uday. I'm so sorry. I promise I'll fix this, I'll fix everything. Main sab theek karr dungi.
She leaved closer to kiss her forehead, but decided against it, worried that it might break his sleep. Instead, she blew him a kiss, and stood up ready to tip-toe back when his hands caught her wrist and pulled her back, making her fall flush on top of him, hands over his bare chest, faces almost touching. The sudden movement had left her breathless, and her being this close to him also didn't help (which happened to be the first time since their changed relationship), nor did the way he was looking at her. The moment settled in as they stared at each other's eyes, and even with his cheek swollen red and a bandaged forehead with an almost 5-day old stubble, Manyata thought he looked almost angelic- just the what he was: her angel.
Uday was smiling. It was the first time he had woken up with her face in front of his eyes, he realized he could do the same for every morning till his last breath. His hands wrapped themselves around her back, securing her to him.
Uday: Kya baat hain Princess? Itni subha subha?
She could clearly see by his expression that he was amused as he caught by surprise.
Manyata: Tum..tumhe kaise pata chala main hoon? Tum toh so rahe tthe na?
Uday: Sawaal ke baad jawaab aata hain, sawaal nahi.
Manyata: Mujhe jaana hain. Choro..choro mujhe.
Uday: Yeh humaare sawaal ka jawaab nahi.
Manyata knew she shouldn't have sneaked here like this. You took the risk, now deal with it! the annoying voice said again. She wanted to command him to let go off her; intended to struggle free out of the case of his arms. But instead, she found herself pressing closer to him, losing track of conscious thoughts after she risked a look at his eyes. And that was it, from then on, time stopped for her.
Manyata's soft-wet locks fell over and touch his cheeks gently, and he brought his hand to tuck them back behind her ears. Her eyes closed on their own at his touch, and when they opened, Uday felt himself drown in them. Holding her close to himself, Uday didn't know which one was the reason to this unbound joy that he was experiencing at the moment. Was it the way she had responded to his touch, or was it the love shinning like a light-beacon in her eyes. Whatever it was, it was enough to drive him crazy.
Uday: Manyata..?..
Manyata: Uday..
Knock. Knock. Knock.
Manyata froze as three knocks at the door brought her back. She looked at him with wide, panicked eyes. He looked at her.
"Open up Manyata, I know you're there."
Manyata heaved a sigh of relief, relaxing against him- It was just Unnati. Uday released her and she jumped up, then straightening her dress and adjusted her hair before walking towards the door.
"Dada?..Manyata??.."
She opened the door to find not only Unnati, but Vijay, both looking at her with amused expressions, arms crossed over their chests. She tried best to hide her embarrassment, but couldn't. Uday was having a difficult time trying to control his sniggers as he saw Unnati's expression.
Manyata: Umn...tum dono mujhe aise kyun dekh rahe ho?
Vijay couldn't help but egg her on. He pulled up a stern face and said in a clipped voice:
Vijay: Good Morning Manyata.
Unnati followed his lead.
Unnati: Good Morning Manyata.
Manyata: Good morning..
And that was it. Uday burst out laughing at her voice, holding his stomach as he did so. Unnati and Vijay joined him, and Manyata's eyes darted from them to him, gaping at them incredulously.
Uday: Hey..hey guys.
Unnati stood beside Manyata and pinched her cheeks, and her expression only catalysed Uday's laughter.
Manyata: Unnati!?!
Unnati: Pata hain tum kitni cute ho? Hii Dada, feeling better?
Uday: Morning Cchoti.
Uday started to sit up naturally, but yesterday's exertion had taken its toll. He wavered, and almost fell back on the bed. Almost. Unnati had suspected it, and was about to get to him when but didn't; she was stopped by Vijay's hand on her shoulder, and she looked back and saw that it wasn't needed. Both Unnati and Vijay shared a smile and beamed in unison at Manyata as she rushed towards Uday, and her arms stretched out just in the nick of time and held him as he wavered, then helped him up slowly, adjusting the pillows behind his back for him to recline.
Manyata: Yeh kya karr rahein the tum Uday? Main paas mein hi khari tthee na, mujhe ek baar keh nahi sakte the?
Uday: Manyata..
Unnati beamed at the two, enjoying the sheepish grin on Uday's face as Manyata fussed over him. Manyata turned at both of them suddenly, hands on her hips, expression outraged.
Manyata: Aur Unnati, tu apne Dada ko kuch keh nahi sakti?
Unnati: Manyata hum toh..
Uday: Ab tum usse kuch kehne ka mauka dogi toh kuch kahegi na!
Manyata: Tum toh chup hi raho! Harr waqt mann-maani! Agar abhi lag jaati toh?
Uday kept quiet, watching her with joyous amusement, while Unnati got the hint and signaled to Vijay.
Vijay: Umn..Unnati, shayad hume Maami-sahb bula rahi hain. Hum chalte hain. See you both at breakfast ;)
Unnati: Manyata hume bhi lagta hain hum kuch bhool rahein hain, hum dekh karr aate hain ha? Tum kahi jaana mat, hum bass abhi aaye!
Manyata: Unnati..?..Vijay Bhai..
Both slipped out of the room, grinning ear to ear as Unnati closed the door behind her. Manyata stared after them, not sure what had just happened. Using her distraction in his favor, Uday slipped out of the bed and stood behind her. She sensed him and turned around.
Manyata: Uday tum uth kyun gaye? Tum..
Uday rolled his eyes, not letting her complete.
Uday: Hum theek hain Princess. Dekho! I'm fit as a horse!
He stretched his arms, faintly showing off, and winced as his back hurt. Manyata shook her head, arms crossed over her chest. Seeing her expression, he gave up the machoism and reached for his button-down shirt. He gave a shrug.
Uday: It's nothing.
A silent, critical glare was the response.
Uday: Halki si chot hain Princess..aoo..
Uday shook his head internally. God! What was going on? He thought. Aaj toh popat ke uparr popat ho raha hain. He smiled, doing his best to cover the grimace that followed when he tried to get the shirt on. Manyata sighed, and simply took the shirt from his hand.
Uday: What..?
He didn't need to complete. Uday wasn't sure exactly what he felt when Manyata gently took his left hand, and after pulling the sleeve up after gently nudging it inside, she went for the right, repeating the process, but whatever it was, it felt good. Strange, but wonderful. Just right. Looking at her as she helped him with the shirt, he didn't even realize when he'd stopped noticing the pain in his shoulder. He could only see her cheeks going red, which only stretched his smile wider.
Manyata blushed heavily, noticing the smile and the way his eyes were watching her as she buttoned up his shirt (leaving 4 buttons open from the top), but didn't look up at him. That was till she was done. When she did look at him, her eyes had teared up. Despite the pain, his hand reached out and touched her face gently, concern etched on his face and deep in his eyes.
Uday: Princess?
Manyata: I'm sorry Uday.
Uday: Kis baat ke liye?
Manyata: Meri bewakoofi ke wajah se yeh sab..
She couldn't complete as words failed her. She couldn't believe she had been this stupid and careless. How had she let him drive away when he was that furious? How could she?! Uday pulled her to him and her tears spilled. She closed her eyes and clung to him while he stroked her hair, forgetting the ache in his back completely.
Uday: Don't be silly. Tumhaari wajah se kuch nahi huya.
Manyata: Maine bohot galtiya ki hain na Uday? Tumhe bohot takleef dii hain maine!
Uday: Unn sab baton ka ab koi matlab nahi hain Princess. Bhool jao woh sab.
She pressed closer to him, her tears wetting his shirt. All that came out of her was a weak whimper:
Manyata: I'm sorry.
When she looked up to face him, she was determined. She took both his hands in hers as she continued:
Manyata: Main vaada karti hoon Uday, main sab theek karr dungi! Apni harr galti sudharungi! Sab pehle jaisa ho gayega! I promise!
Uday: Hum jaante hain.
Manyata: Uday, tum..tum dekhna. Tumne jo mujhe maaf kiya hain, iss faisle parr tum kabhi nahi pachtaoge! You'll be proud of us one day!
Uday: Hum jaante hain Princess.
Manyata: Bass tum mere saath raho. Mujhe..mujhe apni zindagi mein tumhaari zarurat hain Uday. Mujhe tumhaari bohot zarurat hain. I need you. I need you to need me!
Uday: Phir toh tum poori zindagi humse peecha nahi chura paogi. Because I'll always need you.
Manyata: Promise karo Uday. Tum phir kabhi itne laparwa nahi hoge. Humesha apna khayal rakkhoge!
Uday: Manyata..?..
Manyata: Tum nahi jaante main kitna darr gayi tthee! Tumhe uss..uss halat mein dekh ke. Mujhe laga..mujhe laga jaise maine..jaise maine tumhe kho..tum soch bhi nahi sakte main..
She trailed away, breaking eye-contact. The mere memory of him lying lifeless shook her to the core. Uday made her look at him, and with the pang of guilt he felt at the tormented expression on her face, it also warmed his heart as it showed what he meant to her. How much she did love him.
Uday: I'm sorry Princess.
Manyata: Don't put me through that again. Please don't do this ever again Uday!
Uday: I promise.
Manyata: I love you Uday. I..I love you.
And then, her heart almost stopped. It thudded, stuttered, and picked up with double speed. Because what happened next, she'd remember till her last breath.
One moment, she felt his answering smile lit up her entire being and at the next, before she could make out what was happening, Manyata felt his lips crush hers.
And...it was simple as that. All pain dissipated, every guilt gone, all doubts cleared and the fears were put to rest. What she felt was not mere passion, but a bruising tenderness and a love so strong it made her shake inside.
Manyata felt the tender pressure of his lips on hers; she could hardly bear the sweetness of it and before she knew, her slender arms went around his neck, every part of her fitting to him as if she had never belonged anywhere else, and she was kissing him back with equal passion. He felt her tremble, and realized he had too- not just from emotion, from the intensity that was making him dizzy and drunk with happiness. They were drowning, both of them, in the joy they felt surjing through them. Uday's love bathed her, shone through her while hers lit every dark place in his soul like a sun. Manyata felt some of her heady joy spill over into tears. Her throat ached, but these were sweet tears, not the salty tears of pain, and she felt her lips smile as they moved in sync with his; she had never been so happy in her life.
She had come home.
This was where she belonged, with him, in his arms. With Uday, she was home at last.
