Part 13
The next morning Vishaka found all her makeup on the floor broken in pieces. Radhika stood near her door smiling mischievously .
"Muhjese pagan lena ..yehi ajan hota hai ..samji .." (this is what you get for clashing with me) Radhika said chewing her gum walking around the room stepping on another piece of makeup
Vishaka gave Radhika one furious look "You ! .."Vishaka swore within
Radhika just chuckled mockingly "Tsk tsk tsk ..aaj toh tuhje collge jana hoga ..makeup ke bigair .." (Tsk Tsk tsk ..what will you wear on you face now to go to college )
Vishaka just shouted for her mother "MA!!!"
Arpita came and saw this .She started shouting at Radhika .
Radhika just yanked uninterestingly and chewing her gum .."Abb hoga ya .."(ok ..you done now?) She said and walked away leaving Vishaka and Arpita baffled. It felt as if all this scolding a screaming didn't affect her at all !

Vikram was ready to leave.They all said there good byes and Vikram took Dadima's blessings and thanked her for letting him stay here.. Dadima told him to come again whenever he like ..
Vikram hugged Dev brotherly "bro ..don't loose that girl ..I could see it in you eyes that you love her.." He advised glancing at Radhika who was talking with Dadima .
Dev smile boyishly "thanks man…just waiting for the right time"
Vikram smiled wishing Dev good luck and sat in the car

Radhika and Dev were having kulfi together in the valley .
"Tum jaanthe ho …tumhare saath rekar na ..muhje ajeeb se khayal ane lagein hain .."
(you know ….ever since I started hanging around with you ..I started getting weird thoughts..)
"Jaise ke?"(Like what?)
…"main sochri thi …ke muhje sab ko unke paise wapas dene cheye…maine sab ke saath bohut bura kiya ..…lekin main paise wapas kahan se laon …maine sab paise garibon aur bachon keliye karch karliya." (I was thinking …to repay everyone whom ever I stole from .Im starting to feel bad .but I don't know where to get the money from , I spent everything I had to the poor and the orphanage ..) She said chewing her gum worriedly
"Tumne bohut ahca kiya ke tumne sab paise tumhare liye nahi rake . Phir bhi joh tune kiya ..galat tha (Its good that the money you had you gave it out but it was still wrong what you did ..)
Radhika lowered her head cutely . Dev saw that she was feeling bad and something clicked !
"main jaantha hoon ke tumhe paise kahan se mile ge .."
(I know where you could earn money ..)
"KAhan se?"" she asked anxiously
(From where?)

The next day Radhika entered the Rajpurohiti building .He always passed by it but never entered . ,Dev proposed she works for him in the office, he had many files lingering around and wanted them to be organized alphabetically . He needed help to arrange his office and place things in order. Radhika was chewing her gum seeing such disorganized office ..!
"Kyun beh ..kabhie safai nahi ki yahan!" She asked
(What the heck! Don't you ever clean up here?)
"I didn't have time to work on it ..but you can help me . And I will pay you .."
Radhika was apprehensive.. "lekin main ..tumse paise nahi lesakthi " (But I cant take money from you) she said chewing her gum
Dev smiled hearing this but he wanted her to work for him so he can see her more often .
"Comeon Radhika .…just pretend Im your boss and you have to do what I tell you ."HE said ordering yet teasing
"Theek hai ….lekin muhje taqakana maat!"she warned
(Fine ..but don't make me tired ..)
Radhika started working and arranging all the files alphabetically .Dadima saw this wondering what Radhika was doing but Dev informed that she will be working here . Dadima found this very helpful and thanked Radhika for joining in .
Radhika had her duppata tied to the side and few tresses lingering over her forehead after working a lot. She was looking at each file and placing them in their rightful place. Dev had to talk to one of the contractors for the Ashram work. Radhika took a break and sat on the floor taking out her note book .Dev walked in not seeing Radhika , he frown his brows and saw her sitting in the corner writing something in her note book . She looked little a little girl sticking out her tongue cutely as she wrote . He chuckled just adoring her . She seemed so oblivious that he was standing there watching her ..
"Radhika?" He said after awhile
Radhika jerked up and put her note book away
"Kya kari ho .."
(what are you doing ?)
Kuch nahi bas ..thoda aram kari thi ..tumhare paas kitne sare files hain yahn ..aur itna kilaar para hai .."(nothing ..just taking a break , you have so many files lingering everywhere ..) She said looking around
"Yeh sab ek din main nahi hoga tum kaal wapas aogi na.."He said
(but this wont be done in one day , you will have to come back tomorrow )
Day by Day Radhika seemed to become more and more polite and slowly her bad habit of stealing drifted away . Dev saw Radhika face brightening up more and more. She seemed to be smiling more and joking around with the villagers. Everyone saw a change in Radhika but she was still rude to her own family who never appreciated her.
.Radhika always stayed by Dadima's side. She learned a lot about her religion and started going daily to the temple . Radhika was somehow loving what she did , she usually went to the orphanage and helped give out toys and clothes with dadima . She felt happiness within doing all these charity stuff. She stopped taking peoples money but didn't stop warning someone with her knife if he was doing something wrong . She always caught the people who were doing mischief and teach them a lesson .
Dev felt proud that Radhika bad habits drifted away and was concentrating on doing good deeds . HE loved her even more when she showed her caring and sweet side.

One day Radhika was passing by the temple and saw Dev rushing down the stairs .
"Radhika ..Thank God you're here….Dadima really needs your help to serve the priests in the temple ..I have to go to the mutt for something urgent ..can you …" He didn't complete and Radhika knew exactly what he wanted
"Abeh ..tuh fiquar maat kar …main sambhaloungi ..dadima ki madad zaroor karoungi "(don't worry about it ,I'll take care of it and help Dadima ) She assured.
…."Dadima kehti hai ..ke acha kaam akrne se puniya milta hai ..aur sare paap dul jahthe hain .." (Dadima says doing good deeds wash off your bad ones..) she trailed of cutely
Dev smiled sweetly , she was definitely changing in a good way .
"Thank you so much Radhika .."he said gratefully and left ..
Radhika was at the temple helping Dadima pour food for the priest that came for a pooja . Shastrijee was very delighted to see Radhika doing good deeds and Dadima felt proud that she could bring a change in Radhika, she was more polite to the elders and helped them if they ever needed anything .
Radhika would love to go to the orphanage with Dadima and Dev and see the bright smile on the kids faces receiving new toys and clothes. Dev always felt his heart getting pulled towards her and his gaze would never leave from her .He always beamed seeing her interaction with the kids…Dadima caught Dev loving gaze on Radhika
"kyun re ? Kya dekra hai ?" Dadima asked teasingly making him come out the trance ..
(who are you looking at ?)
Dev got a little embarrassed and found an excuse that someone is calling him
"ughh.. Kuch nahi …Dadima woh ..Madhav ji bhulare hain .."HE quickly walked away
(ugh..nothing ..Dadima ..Madhav is calling me ..)
Dadima laughed seeing this …Now she was certain that Dev was in love with Radhika …
At home Dev was looking at some files…Dadima came in with a glass of juice
"Thanks Dadima .."
"Dev do..you like Radhika ? She asked slowly
Dev narrowed his eyes knowing that she caught him gazing at Radhika in th eorphanage ..
He couldn't hide this from Dadima ..
"Dadima ..I don't like her …."
Dadima got confused..
"I love her .." HE grinned boyishly and hugged his grandmother
Dadima eyes brightened up "I knew it right from the beginning! "
Dev moved back "But I don't want to tell her just yet .."
Dadima nodded understanding , she had a excited smile on her face "She's perfect fr you ..unlike those foreign girls you met in America" She said grimacing
Dev stared laughing as Dadima teased him .

Dev was in his room , he didn't know how long he could hold himself for telling Radhika that he loves her . Dev took a deep sigh not knowing how to tell her that he's madly in love with her He had to say it it was just getting so restless for him to keep this inside him
Radhika was still the same but her lovely qualities started showing as she worked for the Rajpurohiti . Arpita was just boiling with jealousy seeing the whole village adoring Radhika now . Arpita would detest Radhika for becoming so close with Dadima .
Tara Shankar felt nice that her daughter was getting on the right path . He barely got any complaints and this was a huge relief. He didn't mind her spending time with Dev ,as long as it was a good influence

It was sunset and all the villagers where heading in their own home .The silence came upon the village , appearing very calm .
Radhika was coming down the temple stairs .She saw Dev sitting hanging up from his cell phone . He looked little sad ..
"Abeh ..tuh …itna udas kyun hota hai beh ?"She asked chewing her gum concernedly
(Hey ,why do you look so sad?)
Dev looked at her giving her a smile" Kuch nahi ..bas..Ma se baat karatha …I'm missing her a lot .."
(Nothing , I was talking to my mom, )
Radhika gave him a comfort smile , she understood very well how it felt like to miss your mother ..There was a brief silence between them
"can I ask you something ?"
Radhika gave out a nod
"Tumhari Ma…kaise …" Dev couldn't finish and let her understand what he wanted to say ..
(How did your mom ...)
Radhika smiled sadly "…Bohut bumaar hogi ..aur …main Ma ke saath baithi thi ..phir unhone ankein baand ki aur ..is duniya se chalegi …. "
(She got really sick , I was sitting beside her .She just clsoed her eyes and she was gone ..)
Dev saw the tears reflecting in her eyes thinking about her mother ..Radhika just looked away not wanting him to see her like this
"Radhika?" he called
Radhika sniffed lightly quickly wiping her tears ..
"H..han ..bol na.."She said not able to face him now …
Dev heart pained knowing that she was probably crying but didn't want him to see..He wanted to make the atmosphere lighter
"Tum ..aise ladki ki tara kya rori ho ?" He asked teasingly trying to cover up his sadness
(why are you crying like a girl .?)
Radhika smiled hearing his question and turned to face him
"Main nahi rori! Aur Mera mazak maat ura ..samja ..!"(I'm not crying ! And stop making fun of me ..understand!)She said trying to be tough
They both tried to cheer each other up
"Come lets go and eat some mangoes .."he said wanting to change this sad atmosphere
"Aur thoda sa masti bhi karthe hain .." She said taking out her sling shot with a playful grin
(And have little fun!)
"Sure ..lets go .."

Radhika was overwhelmed by this she could feel her throat going lumpy and her breathing going unsteady ..But she controlled herself and had a mischievous glint in her eyes .
"Muhje paana ..itna asaan nahi hai ?" She said shaking her head challengingly
(It wont be easy to get me )
"Main kisi bhi haq thak jasakta hoon ..tumko paane ke liye .."He argued firmly approaching her even more..

The thunder struck hard and Radhika startled feeling frightened by the big noise. Her hands clutched on his shirt and hid herself in his chest closing her eyes tightly .
