You guys may me wondering why I have updated so soon already, but this is not an update like all others. As I mentioned a few posts back, veteran actor Dara Singh passed away yesterday. Many people all over know him in different forms, whether it be as a famous wrestler, amazing actor, etc, but to me he is the image of Lord Hanuman in Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan.
I knew about Dara Singh after watching Ramayan for the first time a few years back, and he instantly became imbedded in my mind as Bajrangbali. Over the years ever since television became popular, we have seen many actors portraying the role of Lord Hanuman in various movies and shows, but very few have made their impact on me because they either lacked expression or strong dialogue delivery. One of the few who has touched my heart is Dara Singh. In fact, he is my most favorite out of the few because there was love, devotion, and affection in his acting. It was as if he had stepped into the shoes of Hanuman and understood his feelings.
I can never forget the Sundar Kand sequence of Ramayan, because it was that sequence which had brought out Dara Singh's true potential. The whole sequence was devoted to him since Hanuman is the main character in Sundar Kand, and Dara Singh portrayed it so beautifully that to think he is no more really brings tears to my eyes.
I hope his soul rests in peace and that he is blessed by God to forever escape the endless cycle of birth and rebirth. He has done so many good deeds in his lifetime and has moreover honored Lord Hanuman by portraying him so faithfully that there is most certainly a place for him in the highest heaven.
This is a small tribute I made for the man who brought Lord Hanuman alive for me.
I have made this in two shades, which is better?
More will definitely follow, though I cannot tell when.
