Chapter 10: Ok, but nothing special

Precap: Rano asks Geet about how she likes Maan to which Geet says that he is ok but nothing special.

"Kya? Maan koh pata chala toh uske ego ko kitni theese pauchegi. (What? Maan's ego will be hurt big time if he come to know.)" Archana said. Rano had called Dadi to tell her the latest developments between Maan and Geet. Dadi was now informing Archana about what Geet thought about Maan.

"Issi liye toh hume usse batana hoga. Maan ki naak humesha upar rehti hain, kum se kum Geet ki wajha se to woh wapas zameen pe aaegi. (That is exactly why we should tell him. His nose is always flying in the air, at least now it will come back down to earth.)" Dadi and Archana smiled a little evilly.

At dinner Maan was sitting quietly and was having his meal. The poor devil had no idea what was coming to him.

"Arre maa, pata hai, maine aaj Rano se baat ki. (Oh, mom you know I talked to Rano today.)" Maan perked up his ears.

"Woh mujse pooch rahi thi ke kya meri nazar main koi ladka hain Geet ke liye. Rano ko ab jald se jald uski shaadi karwani hain. (She asked me if I know someone for Geet. Rano wants to get her married off as soon as possible.)"

(Note: M - ... stands for Maan's thoughts !!!)

M - 'Mom, main hoon na.' (Mom, I am there na.)

"Toh kya bataya tumne. Kya tum kisi ko jaanti ho, uske laayak? (And what did you say? Do you know someone good enough?)" Dadi said the last word a little bit stressed.

M – 'Dadi, main aap ko nahin dikha kya?' (Dadi, can't you see me?)

"Pehle toh socha ke Maan ke bare main bolu… (At first I thought about asking for Maan…)"

M – 'Maa, I love you'

"Lekin phir socha ke woh to naa hi kahega. Aaj tak kisi ladki ko haan nahin ki to Geet ko kyun karega. Toh maine Rano se keh diya ke agar ladka miljae aur baat pakki hoyae to hume shaadi pe zaroor bulae. (But then I thought he will say no only. Till date he hasn't said yes for any girl, why will he say yes for Geet? So I told Rano to invite us for the wedding if anything gets fixed.)" Archana tried very hard to keep a straight face.

M – 'Kya, meri Angel ki shaadi kisi aur se?' (What, my Angel is to get married to someone else?)

"Phir bhi, accha hota agar Rano Geet seh ek bar Maan ke bare main pooch leti. (But still, Rano should have asked Geet about Maan.)" Dadi said.

M – 'Correct, akhir uski pasand bhi toh important hain. Aur mujse ziyaada charming aur pyaar karne wala bhala koi hosakta hain kya?' (Correct, after all her opinion is also important. She won't find a more charming and loving guy then me afterall.)

"Rano ne pooch rakha tha Geet seh. Geet ka maan na hain ke Maan theek hain lekin kuch khaas nahin. (Rano had already asked. Geet sadi he is ok but nothing special.)" Cutlery fell and Maan's face reflected his feelings like a mirror. Dadi and Archana looked at their plates. They neither talked further nor looked up before Maan didn't leave the dining table, afraid their laughter or even the slightest giggle could ruin their plan.

Maan's ego was hurt big time and Dadi and Archana congratulated themselves for doing such a good job.

All night long Maan thought about Geet's words. He wondered why she was so different. Maan just had to stand on one place for less than a minute and a bunch of girls would try their luck with him. Then there was Geet, who didn't even acknowledge his efforts to make her happy.

After thinking a lot he came to following conclusion: Geet was not really convinced about him. Rano wanted to get her married off soon so he had very little time on his hands because Maan Singh Khurana had a new aim in life and that was to make Geet his wife. Geet or no one else.

Maan had made some arrangements. He desperately needed help to do all this and there was only one person he could confide in without hesitation.

Adi listened to his plan. He was eager to find out who the girl was that had stolen Maan's heart. First things first, he had to go to the shop.

Adi had called the florist and instructed him to keep the flowers the same way he had showed them.

As Geet opened the shop she saw a beautiful decoration with flowers spelling the word 'SORRY'. The flowers were yellow and white roses, surrounded by a red shaped heart. Geet's heart skipped a beat as she saw a note with her name written on it.

Dearest Geet,

I am 1000 times really sorry for what happened the other day. If I would have known you would feel so bad I wouldn't have done it. Believe me, I had no bad intentions. It is just that I have special feelings for you. Please forgive me. If you do, I'll meet you on Saturday at 7pm for dinner.

Adi was watching her from behind a pillar. He saw Geet smile and hold the card close to her heart. So the plan worked. Someone tapped him on his shoulder and he dropped his phone.

Pinky was standing there and giving him a questioning look.

"What are you doing here? And why are you smiling at Geet?"

"Nothing, I was juuusssttt…yyyooouuu kkknnnooowww…" Adi started to stutter as he was nervous.

"Did you do all this?" Pinky further questioned him about the flowers. He nodded but quickly said:

"I got orders to do so."

"From whom?"

"Maan sir."

"Oye Maan jiju?" Pinky was excited. Geet had obviously told her about the kiss and how she felt bad. Pinky had smacked her forehead, just like Burger. Getting kissed by Maan was a unique thing and here she was crying instead of jumping in joy.

Adi looked confused. Pinky pulled him to the nearest fast food restaurant where she ordered something to eat, on Adi's expenses of course. She told him how she and Burger had tricked Maan to go to Beryy's and then on Geet's birthday how they made the last gift disappear which resulted in Maan kissing Geet on the cheek. Adi was astonished. She further told him how Geet was upset about the office scene but Adi already knew that.

"Our Geet is still so innocent you know. She isn't really like all the other forward girls from Delhi." Pinky concluded. Adi figured that out by himself. He liked the idea of Maan marrying her rather than any of the other girls he had met before.
