I keep comparing this track to the kidnapping in my head because I know the CVs are sort of weaving a parallel story. But the only reason that Yash was allowed to redeem himself in the Ansh kidnapping drama was because, to put it baldly, they needed his money. Yash could do something to save Ansh when Aarti was completely helpless. Even though Aarti wanted to go looking for him herself, Yash made it clear that they would do better together and Aarti saw reason.
But in this situation, if Palak regresses further (because this is the dumbest plan I have ever heard!), what will make Aarti necessary to fix the situation, beyond all rejections of Yash and the family members? What about the situation with Palak is going to make Yash so helpless that he will need Aarti to step in? I can see where Aarti, not the Arpita clone, but the real Aarti would be the perfect person to help Palak deal with the finality and permanence of death, but what is going to make Yash and the Scindias see that if Palak does not accept Aarti as Arpita?
Dying here!
@Sam...
Palak's regression (an umbrella cover for any negative reaction to the dumbest plan) would be a situation that Aarti has herself initiated, planned, and executed (God, Aarti!) unlike in the Ansh kidnapping where there was free-will operating on the part of Ansh. He chose to run away. One could say that was unpredictable, understandable, but unpredictable. Here, I have to say, everything is of Aarti's making. The only free-will that Palak can work with is to chose to accept Aarti's closure or not. If the former works, three cheers and the question becomes moot. But if not...
So, to answer your question, my guess is that Aarti plans to come as Arpita to bring a closure to Palak as I fantasized days back...and say the new mother is Aarti who will be someone she herself has assigned to take care of her or some such. But let's say that Palak the child, buys into Aarti's act completely and refuses to let go of Arpita, then falls sick and what not. And Aarti's plan may backfire since now, she has to permanently take the place of Arpita that I'm sure she probably didn't bargain for and is forced to stick around...
EDIT: I didn't provide an explicit answer. What I meant to say is that Yash would be helpless and would need Aarti to continue with this playacting...I
P.S: I got what you were saying about many flashback moments playing out on this day...What a visionary you are, my friend...😊 Thanks for the heads-up!
