So where were we???oh yes...

KUSHI

You!!!!cried kushi and the stranger simultaneously.and then laughed.

"what a pleasant surprise!!!i never thought that I will be meeting you in my life again!!!"said kushi to the man in front of her.

"then you were wrong"said he with a grin."come,take a seat sankadevi!"

Kushi went to the table and sat on the chair facing the stranger(to us)but apparently someone who knew her very well to call her by her nickname.

"how did you ever land up here mukesh?nobody in lucknow would have ever seen you for the last 10 years!why did you runaway?and you stole a lot of things.you creep!my anklet,jijis ear ring,vimala marcys bangle,suren mausa jis honey pot,and you owl you even stole harishen chachus old trousers!!!!!"cried kushi!!

"Why, did you forget little prems teddy bear and nani jis specs!"said mukesh with a sheepish grin.

Kushi smacked her forehead."oh yess!!those too"

"well I took them as memories of my tranquil childhood in the worlds most beautiful place,"he said airily.

"Oh yes very tranquil"retorted kushi her voice full of sarcasm.

Then with a start he said,"they are all old tales,,leave it,,now,,why are you here?not to meet me ,I am sure,,you did not know my whereabouts,did you?or after so many years have you taken a liking to me,that you wanted to find me,and'."

"And what? you theif?"asked kushi with mocking anger.

"and say that you love me,,just like in those romantic movies!!!"he teased with a wink.

"oho shutup,you have not changed at all except your height and weight!,well I am here for the interview.,"she said while handing him the letter across the table.

"sankadevi,,,,,,"he sighed,"you have not changed at all have you?still late for everything!"

Kushi smiled cheerfully and bent her head gracefully as if accepting a compliment."so am I getting the job?"she asked.

"ofcourse you get it.its a good thing that I didn't give any word to the others who were here earlier."

"o thankyou so much.so tell me how did you get here?"

Before answering to kushis question mukesh ordered his PA to bring in kushis contract papers.which kushi signed without reading its contents as she was engrossed in talking with her old friend.

"well after coming from lucknow I had a hard time finding a place to stay.finally I ended up at an orphanage.that became my second home.they educated me.i went to a medical college.i started this nursing home as it was my dream.this is what delhi has made me.a skilled gynaecologist and an accomplished businessman at this age."he said very pompously.

When she heard him say these words she remembered her laard governor and smiled to herself thinking "still no one can beat your success"

"Did you say something?"

Kushi came out of her thoughts,"oh no,nothing..so by what time should I report here tomorrow?"she asked.

"Here?did you not read the contract papers?"

Kushi was bewildered at his words."no I didn't concentrate.why?whats wrong?"she questioned him.

"nothing to worry about,its just that you will not be working here ,instead youll be working in another branch of this clininc,which is situated at the 2^nd floor of the AR building."

"what?AR building?"cried kushi getting up from the chair.

"yes!sit down kushi.why are you behaving as if you have seen a ghost!whats wrong?"

Hearing her place of work kushi went pale and weak,,,"not where he is,hai DM I wanted to stay away from him,that's why I looked for a job in the first place,,but why are you trying to make me get closer?"

Kushi took a deep breath,paused for a moment and then spoke"I am sorry mukesh,but I cant accept this job!"

"what?i think I heard you wrong!kushi the contract is signed.you cant step back now.even if you want to you can leave only after three months.!"

Kushi came to her senses.she sat down again and thought "this doesn't mean that you will get to see him kushi.anyway it doesn't make any difference does it?you hate him don't you?" kushi gave a determined nod to herself.and then.."fine,ill do it,sorry its just that I don't know the place that you just told"

"dony worry,I will give you the directions.please report to work from day after tomorrow onwards.you should be there at 7.00 every morning,I know it is too early.but you are working under a psychiatrist and they usually start work early!"

Kushi agreed and shook hands with mukesh.before she left she promised to meet him sometime again.

She was fuming at the turn of events when she entered her home that she did not notice an elderly man sitting on a wheelchair at the verenda,she looked at him only when he coughed the third time to get her attention."ohhh bauji,,you have arrived already.oh im so happy."she gave him an adorable hug and went in to greet her mother.when she had finished hugging her mother as well buaji shouted at her "kushi,how long have we been waiting for you?arnav bitwa will be here in 10 minutes.get dressed quickly."

Kushi had almost forgotten that she had to go to shantiwan today.she really hated it.because this meant that she will have to stay with him under one roof and that would bring all the bitter memories of the past which she was trying to forget.but,she did not want to let down her di,,one of the most caring people in the world.so she hurried off to her room to change.she took out the red saree which was given to her by anjali.while she was wearing it,,,,,every time the saree came in contact with her bear skin she felt a strange sensation.and also the saree smelled like,,,like ,,it had his smell,,yes she remembered now,,it was when she was wearing this that arnav sing raizada first came so close to her,to kiss her,,she remembered it as if it was yesterday,he had her anklet with him,,he made her sit on the chair,at the pool side ,he himself put it around her ankle,he got up to go,but had turned around and had come closer,,she had stepped behind while he stepped forward,she leaned on the wall,,he had come even closer,,held her by her arms,his lips were inches away from hers,if it had not been for the phone call,,he would have kissed her''''''''''''''''''''''''..and now again kushi felt a thousand butterflies soaring through her body,,and there again a leap,a cheery leap somewhere in her abdomen! She hugged the saree tight to her body and smiled contentedly, she felt warm and strangely happy.just then she heard a horn beep,she rushed to her window.and there he was,looking at her through the window,,she did not know,but he had come five minutes earlier and was looking at her,,through the window,,he was amused to see her standing there in the middle of the room hugging herself as if it was very cold!!still she looked very pretty,her expression told him that she was peaceful thinking of whatever that was in her mind.how happy would he have felt,,if he only knew what she was thinking!.

Kushi was confused.it was very odd she thought. she really despised him a lot after what he had done to her.she hated him.but still there was some involuntary change in her body,,some unknown force that made her yearn for his presence, for his warmth,to be in his arms,.she had learnt when schooling that these were psychological changes that took place inside a woman simultaneously at a certain physical state.but she did not want to dwell on that fact.she had a lot of work right now.she put away her mullings about all that at the back of her head and came out of the room.the journey to shantiwan was event less except for the thousand times arnav and kushi glanced at one another without the knowledge of the other!.

The gupta family was warmly welcomed by the people at shantiwan.payal came running towards them and hugged them in turn.kushi felt very dizzy after the journey.so she excused herself and went in with her bag.arnav noticed this.she walked slowly towards their room.but stopped at the door,,her vision was blurred,she was about to fall down when strong and protective hands caught her from her shoulders.

"kushi"she heard his voice talking to her with concern."are you alright?"kushi shrugged him off,,her dizziness went away so suddenly.she turned and gave him a cold stare."I can help myself.dont ever touch me again"with that she went in directly towards the bathroom.aranv gave an exasperated sigh.and thought"I challenge you Kushi kumari gupta singh raizada,you yourself will hug me tonight"

In the bathroom ,kushi was leaning onto the wash basin,she felt dizzy again,,she had never been travel sick before,then why now?she felt sick,,and then suddenly she retched,.after about ten minutes in the bathroom she came out.she went to the bed and sat down.her bed covers were still there on that side.she saw one of his t shirt lying on bed,she took it in her hand and held it close to herself, miraculously she felt better,completely alright.after spending sometime sitting on bed she got up and went outside.to do the preparations for the function.she felt cheerful and she thought that she ought to be double cheerful for a reason that only kushi kumari gupta is in the light for now.
