Interesting discussions All regarding analogies with Chandni and HDDCS. I am going to name another that bears similarity in family set-up..."Khoobsoorat"...the one starring Rekha, Rakesh Roshan, and Ashok Kumar. In that movie, Rekha is the sister of the lady who gets married to the second son (of 3) of a family that is ruled with iron hands by the MIL. The MIL believes in the same "discipline" concept as shown here...the strict time table, breakfast together, no masti, no breaking rules, blah blah. Rekha visits her sister and turns the family over one by one by getting them to pursue their individual hobbies, which had all come to a stop because of MIL's Hitlergiri. There too there's a dialogue by the MIL, when she is pulled up by her husband for coming down hard on Rekha for causing havoc in her house... something like, "I've managed to keep this household together by being strict and maintaining discipline, otherwise the three sons would have gone three different ways..."

@Indu: Woww .. I faintly remember watching that movie .. it has the song "saare neeyam todh do" song right? That would so totally suit this situation later on .. imagine Aarti & Pari dancing to that around Gaya3 🤣
And wow what a similar dialogue .. as Gaya3 has said the same thing on Thursday I believe .. good catch!

I absolutely love it when film discussion gets incorporated with the episode analyses because it seriously adds so many dimensions to the scenario!

I haven't seen Chandni or Khoobsoorat, but I have watched HDDCS, and that movie has made me feel a whole spectrum of emotions depending on what time in my life I was watching it at. The first time I watched it I was like 8 and I hated it because my hero was left heartbroken in the end. I couldn't for the life of me understand why after everything she did to find him, would just leave him in the end to be with Ajay. At a time where love meant nothing but extravagant gestures, this was such a disappointment, because I found nothing in Ajay at that point that was worth staying for. So I boycotted the movie and told myself I would never watch it again, but a couple years ago my mom convinced me to give it another try, and it's really amazing what a few years can do to your mentality! He defined what it meant to love in every sense of the word, and the second time around I couldn't even imagine Aish picking Salman over Ajay.

It's the same for Aarti, Prashant taught her what it was like to love, but Yash will teach her the real meaning behind what it really means to love. So when Yash finally accepting that he has fallen in love with Aarti will only be half of the battle, the other half will be proving to her through his actions that she is someone who can be loved and cherished, because Aarti has forgotten what that really feels like, and after the double dose of rejection will probably never even try to imagine such notions because she considers herself unworthy of them.

But at the same time, Yash is also a lot like Aish's character, because right now he is dead set on never moving on from Arpita, just like all Aish wanted to do was find Salman again and be reunited with him. So it will be Aarti, who with her small gestures and loving personality will be able to bring Yash out of his deluded fantasies into the realms of reality, and open him up to love again. And the best thing is that she is going to be accomplishing all this by just being her, completely unaware of what her every little action is breaking the wall around Yash's heart brick by brick!

So really they both have their work cut out for them, they're both responsible from bringing each other out of their past disappointments and tragedies and lead them to a new future. Aarti will do it unconsciously, but I think Yash will know exactly what he is doing when it's his turn. And that's where the fact that he's a man of action will be his greatest strength!

Z, I am going to move the conversation from the Wardrobe AT to over here, because we've completely gone off track there, and Deeps might ban us from there šŸ˜†

But anyways completely agree with this! I love the names Yash and Aarti, they're so short, sweet and easy to say! And not just that but they also just seem to fit with their characters! You're also right when you say that in some weird way Smriti and Siddhant do sound quiet old and mature, especially Siddhant, it's such a mouthful šŸ˜†

Maham: Thanx for doing that .. as you said .. we can start anytime, anywhere šŸ˜†
Agreed .. and also remember how Shubhi made a thread on the names and their meanings -- the names really DID suit every character to the T! So I guess that's what went behind the name change.. and this name change can happen last moment too .. like even in between shooting of the first episode and all (learned this from previous show I watched where the PH gave a transcript of the first episode and exactly how much detailing goes into every single thing from the dialogues to the setting to the names ..)
So I am very glad to whoever suggested the name change !

Hey everyone!

Random announcement of the day...Since this is the 50th Episode thread, I figured I might as well say this here...
I am in LOVE with Yeh Dil Hai!
The lyrics are so, so, SO beautiful and I've been listening to the entire thing on repeat for quite a while now...When I first downloaded it yesterday, I was like, "This can't be 7 minutes long! It just can't!" But it is, and it's amazing!!!
"Kabhi tum bhi yeh keh do na, tumko hai meri zaroorat...
Mujhe har pal chahte ho tum, mujhko hai tumse mohabbat...
Dekhoon ab toh koi soorat aap hi bas dikh jaaye humein..."
That stanza made me feel so warm and happy inside after I nearly died from the shock of the lyrics! ā¤ļø And it automatically brought Friday's Yash-Aarti interaction to my mind...It was beautiful, listening to that!
"Bataoon kya andheron mein yoon kat rahi thi zindagi kaisi...
Magar ab hai zindagi mein meri roshni ek zindagi jaisi...
Unn raahon par chal denge hum aap raahein jo dikhlaayein humein..."
Isn't this BEAUTIFUL?! This story is going to be incredible. It already is, but this is only the beginning!

@Borna: The song is really beautiful...and the lyrics mirror the emotions of Yash and Aarti.
(Bold) These lines are so apt for Yash. It's like he's deep inside this dark tunnel, when he sees the light (Aarti) at the end...and when he steps into the light, he stumbles at the brightness of it (what he is going through now) till his eyes adjust and he walks stealthily without looking back (later). šŸ˜
