Happy Navraatri 😊 I can't celebrate it though since it's not in my religion but in the future if I have any Hindu friends then they may invite me for some garba and dandiya 😃 I have seen Eid and Diwali really big here in England but not any other festivals which aren't from Christianity.

^ well even i always have known navratri to be more of a gujju thing. i mean most hindus know about it too, but i think it is more lavishly a gujju festival. i may be wrong though.

Hun, actually Navarathiri, as we call it in South Indian languages, is celebrated grandly in South India as well 😳. In fact, many of us were busy with that only; as lots of poojas and prep need to be done, since Navarathri marks the beginning of a streak of festivals till January (with lots of fasting in between)! its during this time that people set up specially grafted navratri golu dolls
This year we will be going to one too ⭐️.
But hope all of you are having a wonderful time 🤗🤗🤗
P.s. The song is ready, will be uploaded once melz gets here 😎

1) How do you celebrate Navratri every year? By going to garba with our extended family!
2) Are you a bigger fan of Garba or Dandiya? Dandiya, but I love garba too.
3) Does your family do anything special during the 9 day festival? Like fasting or anything of the sort? We do the aarti everyday, but nothing else special, no meat during Navratri though.
4) Do you look forward to this festival every year? Yes! lol I love Navratri. It's the only festival we celebrate almost like it is in India (at least, in my part of the US)
5) What is the best part of Navratri for you? The clothes!!
6) Have you ever celebrated Navratri with any celebrities? Nope
7) Is there a difference when it coems to Navratri in India & Navratri in the US/Canada/other countries? I've never celebrated Navratri in India, but in the US I have. So I would say it's different. But the clothes, music, and dancing is pretty much the same.
8) Your favorite part of the festival? Did I say clothes? And dancing til my feet hurt. lol
9) Your favorite Navratri song if you have any? I love them all!
10) What has been your most memorable Navratri & why? Last year, because all of the cousins, aunts, and uncles got together. It was almost like a family reunion!

Happy Navratri!!

Navatri Poems

The temple priest has rung his bell.
A cloud of smoke from candles and lamps
Haloes the Goddess, glowing bright
This beat of drums both maddens and dulls.

The incense burns: so heady the musk,
Our senses flounder in the flood.
This endless chant of sacred words
Soon drugs our lips and stuns our minds.

The Goddess, always staring down:
Her painted pupils cut through smoke
And read the secret thoughts we think.
We somehow feel this within our hearts.

To Mother, we know, we bow and pray –
Her form not just this image of clay.

Navratri

Nine nights for goddess Durga
Full of dance and songs
People worship her image
With flowers and prayers long.

May the Goddess bless us
With precious gifts to mankind
People praise her image
Full of beauty divine!
