I am surprised that no one is mentioning about the medley of songs performed in the ME on Saturday. Was waiting for a thread on it...so anyway decided to write on it...I liked it because Iiked the fact that the characters in the show themselves performed on it and no one from other shows were brought. I alway prefer when the characters sing and dance because then it makes it more real for me...I also liked the fact how the songs were chosen to bring out thei personal feelings ...
Padma was singing...Yashomati mayeeya se bole nandalala , Radha kyyo gori main kyun kala...but whn she refers to Dev as her ladla or the favourite one...the camera is on Rohans face and he is trying to show indifference but there are tears in his eyes...Rohan is used to being apple of Padma's eyes as her only child and this is hurting him...
Mohini's mayeeya yashoda...by the way Mohini is a good dancer...which leads Radhika to her dreamworld where she is thinking about Dev distracting her and Dev is gazing at her seeing her lost in her thoughts (well this is a dreamworld for her)...
Gopal das sings a song which basically means that the family is all together and sharing their happiness...when he starts singing badi bahu is not impressed...then mohini and Padma joins by themselves...but they had to drag badi bahu who stands there with a sullen face...Mohini drags in Virat...who also sings and joins with hesitation...then Rohan is dragged in ...he joins but is not too happy...basically each and every character is behaving like they usually do and the song was a good way to depict their feelings.
This family is living in a bubble and the bubble will burst on day...but they are living like any human being does when they don't want to accept something that is right in front of their eyes...so in this way they are real to me.
