Thank you friends for such wonderful comments. I read them multiple times as they filled me with sense of achievement.

Now from a writer's perspective, comes the hard part. Positive…romantic updates are much more difficult to write then dramatic ones. So please let me know if I start stretching things too much or if you start getting bored.

Also, most of you were ok with 18+ parts so you will get some such updates going forward. But mostly they will be within the story so I will put up a warning sign upfront.

Chapter 73 – Blissful Sleep

He was putting the last button of his shirt when she walked out. He had straightened his trouser and had dried his hands and legs where water had splashed over him.

Maan looked at her and passed a smile. She looked very innocent and beautiful in her wet look. Geet came closer and used her towel to dab away the water drops from his face and neck which he had missed. "Maan…thank"

Maan placed his finger on her lips before she could complete her word – "Shhh Mishti…we don't need words…we both know….kya maine tumhein Annie ke liye thanks kaha…nahin na….aur kahunga bhi nahin…main kya koi bhi nahin kahega….we know what she means to you….to phir tum mujhe aise kyon bol rahi ho….hmmm"

Geet hugged him very tight burying her face in his chest. Maan placed her on bed gently and semi sat with her placing his arm behind her back. She rested her head on his shoulder. "So Jao Mishti…so Jao….aur aaj sirf humare sapne dekhna…humari engagement….humari aane wali zindagi ke sapne"

Geet looked at his face – "Lekin…"

Maan placed his free palm on her face. "Jaan…meri aankon mein dekho…apna cehra dikh raha hai na…bas ise dekhte hue so jao…aaj in ankhon ki siwaye aur kisi ki tumhare khalyon mein koi jagah nahin" (This is courtesy GHSP khoon bhari maang episode scene)

Geet blinked her eyes once to say yes and then slept looking at her world in his eyes.

After few minutes, Maan felt her even breathing. Her eyes were closed so he gently placed her head on the pillow. He snuck her hair behind her ears and placed a soft kiss on her forehead. Covering her with a blanket, he walked out of the room.

Annie was lying on the sofa watching television. "Bhai, Geet Di…mera metlab Bhabhi so gayi?"

Maan smiled – "Haan…ab tu bhi ja kar so ja aur agar raat ko use phir se nightmare aaye to mujjhe bula lena…main yehi couch pe so raha hoon"

Annie– "But Bhai aap couch par saari rat"

Maan - "Don't worry Annie….just do get me so that I can calm her down…hmmm"

Annie nodded and got up from the couch. As she started walking away, Maan held her wrist. "Annie…tujhe meri kasam…sach sach bata tu thik hai na?"

Annie smiled and sat back beside Maan – "Maine aapko bataya tha na bhai…Bhabhi ne mujhe kharonch bhi nahin aane di…sab kuch khud pe le liya"

Maan - "Phir bhi Annie, this incident…what you had to undergo….what you saw…dekh if you want…if there is anything in your mind, you can talk to me…if you don't feel comfortable then, you can talk to Geet or Pari."

Annie put her hand on his and shook her head – "Main bilkul thik hoon bhaiya….sach mein…aisi koi baat nahin" She got teary – "Waise bhi Bhabhi takes care of me before herself…aapko pata hai….even when she was bleeding (sob) first thing she told me was not to worry…she told me it was not my fault…I was not responsible but it was her decision…even later at nights….she was struggling with her nightmares but she kept on talking to me…making me strong"

Maan – "Geet is a very brave girl who has immense love for her family"

Annie looked up to face her brother – "You know bhai…you are right…she cares for everybody…all of us and I am truly happy that now there is someone to take care of her…I know that your love is no less bhai….you have to take care of her bhai…baki sab ki chinta karne ke liye woh hain…hain na"

Maan nodded and kissed Annie's forehead – "hmmm…ab Ja, so ja…Good Night"

Annie – "Good Night Bhai"

Annie walked to the room while Maan settled in the couch. Raj, Rishab, Nisha and Juhi wiped their tears as they looked from above the stairs.

They went to bed silently praying to God for keeping their home's happiness intact. After weeks of agony many souls had a restful sleep that entire night.

Next Day 2^nd December 8:30 AM

Chaiyiji came down to find whole house buzzing with activity. Servants were running here and there, tidying up the house. Someone was putting on the lights and everybody seemed to be on phone except for Nisha who seemed to be discussing with Nakul on some elaborate menu. As she walked down, she saw that Pari talking – "Ji….thik hai…we will be there by 1:00 PM today. We want all dresses to be fitted and ready by Friday evening"

Rahul was on phone as well – "I need white orchids and carnations in white and red….no roses…no no"

Chaiyiji was confused and went and sat near Raj who was again on phone – "Yes…even business class will do….ok I will email you the details of people and destinations…Thanks"

Raj kept down the phone. Chaiyiji – "Bhai sahib kya baat hai….badi raunak lag rahi hai"

Raj smiled – "Haan Preeto…actually kal Geet ka rishta pakka ho gaya hai and Saturday ko hi engagement hai…so I was talking to all our relatives and trying to arrange for their flight tickets"

Preeto – "Kya…lekin kaise….aur ladka kaun hai"

Raj – "Bata raha hoon baba…Maan ke saath Geet ki shaadi pakki ho gayi hai"

Preeto was shocked – "What!!! Geet ke bare mein sab kuch jaante hue bhi Rishab apne bete ki shaadi Geet ke saath karne ke liye tayiar ho gaya…sach mein dosti nibhana to koi use se sikhe nahin to aaj ke zamane mein kaun aisa karta hai….but I am surprised ki Maan also agreed…is it because of the way Geet helped…"

Raj interrupted – "Tum galat samajh rahi ho…koi ehsaan nahin kar rahe hain woh log…Maan aur Geet ek dusre ko cahte hain…bahut pehle se bas humein kal pata chala"

Preeto was surprised even further – "Sach…matlab even before Naintara's proposal came?"

Raj just nodded. Just then Annie came out along with Geet from the bedroom. Raj was worried about Chaiyiji's reaction.

Preeto came closer to Geet and put her hand on her head – "Jiti raho beta…main bahut khush hoon…abhi bhai sahib ne bataya tumhare aur Maan ke bare mein."

Saying this Preeto hugged Geet – "I am sorry about everything beta…mujhe nahin pata tha….sach mein"

Geet came out of hug and held her hand – "Kaise baatein kar rahe ho chaiyiji…main aapko bachpan se jaanti hoon…I know that you may not show it always but you love all of us…aapko maafi maangne ki koi zaroorat nahin"

Preeto just smiled and hugged Geet again.

Somewhere all were shocked at Preeto's reaction but not really. She was a woman with harsh tongue but not a bad heart. She was no different from those who loved to gossip, tease and sometime did not realize how hurtful their open comments were.

Preeto - "Lekin Raj itni jaldi karne ki kya zarrorat thi…thoda time to dena tha na engagement ke liye"

Raj – "Woh to thik hai Preeto but I felt that they have undergone a lot already. Bas ab aur nahin tadpana hai mujhe inhe"

Annie suddenly exclaimed – "Oh my God!!! It is 9:00….Bhabhi I am going to get everything ready with saloon….please aap jaldi se breakfast karke taiyaar ho jaiye…Pari Di aapne baat ki boutiques mein"

Pari answered – "Haan….we have 1:00 appointment at Anamika's and 11:00 appointment at Rohit Bal's boutique…Tomorrow we will go to Zaveri and Mehrason for matching jewelry"

Nisha smiled – "Thik hai…Geet beta chal pehle kuch kha lo phir medicines bhi leni hai na…take it easy and tell Pari and Annie if you need rest or anything else…is sab mein bas teri tabiyat thik rehni cahiye nahin to tera doctor humein chodega nahin"

Geet blushed – "Mumma!!! Bus karo"

Everybody laughed.

Preeto – "Haan bhai yeh baat to soleh aane sach hai….waise bhi woh angry young man baat baat pe bhadak jata hai…chalo chalo bahut kam hai….Raj you tell me ki kis ko phone karke invite karna hai….let me help you with that"

Saying this everyone parted to get busy.
