Humayoun Sayeed is older in age but he basically plays young roles like all the actors of Bollywood here. If a 46 year old Aamir can play a college guy in 3 Idiots, Humayoun Saeed can play a guy in mid/late twenties.. Mostly his roles have him of marriageable age like 28+ and I think he does play them convincingly no matter how much I hate having him in every show!

Oh I see...I've just seen a glimpse of him in Neeyat and he didn't look 28+ to me there...lol but then neither do the bollywood heroes trying to pass off as being in their early 30s many times...except for Aamir Khan.

LOLL...woww...this show had such a huge impact that ppl named their KIDS after the characters?? wow😆
How Javed Akhtar named his daughter Zoya
Well known writer Kamlesh Pandey who has given numerous hits on television has for the first time adapted a famous Pakistani show Dhoop Kinare for his Sony tv show Kuch Toh Log Kahenge. Starring Mohnish Behl and Kritika Kamra the show will launch on 3rd October at 8 pm. During the press conference, Kamlesh revealed a secret. He said this show was very famous 25 years ago and his good friend Javed Akhtar was so impressed with the female lead in Dhoop Kinare called Dr. Zoya that he named his daughter Zoya too!! How sweet
Actually I'm more concerned that the love story aspect was so popular. I really liked everything about the show but good lord the age difference made me feel a little uncomfortable. I even tried to put myself in Zoya's shoes but still couldn't envision myself falling for a man who was so much older than me no matter how charming, eloquent or classy he was.

So Zoya Akhtar was named after Dhoop Kinarey's Zoya? Wow, didn't know that! And I also read somewhere that people used to schedule weddings and social gatherings around the show so that they wouldn't have to miss an episode.
The naming-kids-after-characters thing reminds me ... a few years from now, be prepared to see hundreds of Edwards, Bellas and Jacobs as our kids' peers. :P

LOL honestly speaking Sarah, I feel that Dr. Ahmar is the real USP of this show...the love story is ok...I don't feel uncomfortable with it but I don't particularly feel like REALLY rooting for it either...maybe cuz Zoya's character isn't THAT interesting to me...I was expecting more when I started watching the show especially given how literally everyone is always RAVING about it...but over time, I found myself feeling a little underwhelmed in bits...as for the love story...honestly the WAY a relationship is developed is what would pull in the audience or not I'd say...and to me, that aspect was just about ok...Zoya's turning point came when she spent that night in the hospital next to the sick child and Dr. Ahmar gave her back her jhumke in the morning...I personally wasn't that taken in with that turning point...since then I'm watching the show but not with deep engagement...I find Angie annoying in many bits...ditto for Irfan...he talks TOO much sometimes and I can't follow all the fast pure Urdu...that Fassi/Fazi whatever character that is of Zoya's aunt is annoying...baaki sab toh waise bhi theek hi hai...the bits I can say I've REALLY liked are those involving Ahmar's memories of his father and his thoughts over that.

Ehmm...I know I have a thing for older guys. Sarah should not read this.

There is a lovely line they played from a Jagjit Singh ghazal..."hoton se chhu lo tum" at the end of the SBB segment:

"Na umr ki seema ho, na janm ka ho bandhan
Jab pyar kare koi, toh dekhe keval mann"

Ahhh...they played this ghazal...It's one of my fav JS ghazals...

That HS guy is SRK of our TV...toh samajh jao. Waise all these Pakistani TV actor playing heroes are usually b/w 30-45 years of age...some are younger too...but popular ones toh issi age bracket main hain...and they all usually play roles younger than them...😆heroins here aren't that old but not too young too...toh chalta hai I guess...

Anu...yes, DR Ahmar WAS the real USP of this show yaar. Bataya toh tha keh everyone was crazy about him only...lol. Hasina Moin ki heroins are usually like Zoya toh itni koi khaas baat nahin thi for that time. Irfan and Anjie wereirritating except some bits...baki I loved Zoya's father character. And I haven't watched it in a long time now but I loved the love story...I still would if I watch it...call it a childhood crush...I think there's a certain old school charm to it.
