He knocked at the glass door, peered through it and glanced at the lady in. Beautiful, he amused. She was busy conversing on the phone, he noticed at one glance.
Doctor: "Yes, come in!", she gestured him to have a seat while she was saying her last words in a hurry, with a second lasting blush before putting the phone down. "Call you in a few, bye" She look up to the patient, "Yes?"
Patient: "No, I didn't. I've got a cold too."
She nods and examines the young man.
"Your body temperature is 102' F. You must take medicines for at least three days." She got busy writing on a piece of paper, which allowed the patient time to think.
The doctor chuckles, he so reminded her of someone. "You shouldn't. You must take rest"
She looked up at him, doubtful with his choice of words, "You needn't. But, if the fever persists for more than three days, come to the hospital." Fumbling on her words, trying to be as formal as she could.
"Thank you, Ma'am" He utters the kind words with a wide grin and a sweet tone leaving the doctor staggered.
Amazed, she managed to voice the words forcing a fake smile on her face, after a second or two, "You're welcome."
He leaves the cabin with a smile, but not before turning to throw a last glance at her. He was left disillusioned for she was way too busy with her mobile to notice him.
Pressing his number on her phone, she honestly made a silent prayer that she was not disturbing him.
Scene Changes:
Clad in a 3-piece aristocrat looking dark blue suit, a white shirt with single-lengh French cuff links and a silk grey-purple tie, Arnav Singh Raizada stood, almost beginning the presentation with the B1-LED-PICO projector.
"As Chair, it is my pleasure to introduce to you Mr Atul Joshi, our new Executive Vice President. Everyone is present, so we can skip the apologies. We will commence as soon as the last person signs the attendance sheet."
"Let's get started, I'd like to share some thoughts on" he was about to commence his presentation, when a clear tone was heard echoing in the room. Contemplating on who could be giving him a call on his private number, he excused himself out of the conference room.
Upon seeing the Caller's ID flashing on the screen, he accepts the call with a melancholy tone and wearing a genuine apprehensive look on his face, " Hey Love!"
The sweet voice of a lady replied, "Sorry, actually there was a patient who came over," hearing no reaction she continues, "I didn't disturb you, right?"
Smiling against his will he adds, "No, nothing like that sweetheart. Well, i was just to start the conference but.. Anyway, you wanted to tell me something?"
After a meditative moment, she decides upon the words to be used to explain to him her sudden approval, "Uhh, actually, i pondered on what you suggested last night and.."
As if by telepathy, he could tell what was going in her mind. She was not going to pay lip-service to his words and he, was for one second so gratified to the fact that she might have abided by his proposal, "Oh My God, Love, you've accepted it.. right baby?" He leaned on the door with his back, anticipating a yes
She laughed for she could actually imagine him jumping in happiness, "Yes, you were actually right you know. And now you moron, don't be late. Come and fetch me. Okay?"
A chuckle left his mouth as his eyes were now moist, "Am coming right now, i can't wait to take you home!"
As realization dawns upon her, she voices her feelings, "No Arnav, use your brain sometimes, look, there are formalities to be completed here, so it will take a while na? But I won't make it more than an hour. And why are you SOOO bent on bringing me home? I want to have a classy dinner in an open air restaurant, with my husband s'il vous plait!"
