(It is dinnertime and Runjhun goes to the kitchen to get a plate of food for Guddu. She comes back to the room and places the plate and a glass of water on the table)
Runjhun: Come on. Start eating.
Guddu: (looking at the single plate on the table) Where is your plate?
Runjhun: I will eat later
Guddu: No. You will eat now. It's our first dinner as friends
Runjhun: But...
Guddu: Are you thinking about this morning when I lied to you?
Runjhun: No. Nothing like that
Guddu: I know that you are thinking about that.
(Runjhun still stands and stares at him)
Guddu: Ok. I am sorry. (holds his ears) I really truly want you to eat with me. Please go and get your plate
Runjhun: (happy) Ok. I will go and get it
(Runjhun goes to the kitchen to get her plate and is stopped by the Mamis on her way out of the kitchen)
Billo Mami: Runjhun. Where is mine and Buntu ji's food?
Runjhun: It's ready. I will go and heat it
Kalsanwali Mami (staring at the plate in Runjhun's hand) Who is this plate for?
Runjhun: Me
Kalsanwali Mami ( grabs the plate from Runjhun's hands) Not anymore. (She starts eating from the plate as Runjhun stares at her)
Mittho Mami: Stop staring and go get mine and Pandey ji's food. Send it to our room
Runjhun: Ok Mami. I will send it right away
(Guddu is standing at the top of the stairs and decides to intervene)
Guddu: No. You will not Runjhun. These people can get their own food.
Runjhun: I will do it. It will take 5 minutes
Guddu: I do not care if it will take 5 seconds. You are not going to serve food
to these people
Mittho Mami: Aai Hay Guddu. Why can't she serve us food?
Guddu: Because she has been working like a slave for you her entire life. It is time for all of you to get up and do your own work
Kalsanwali Mami: Guddu. Why are you getting involved?
Guddu ( starts walking down the stairs) because I want to get involved. Do you have a problem with that?
Kalsanwali Mami: (scared) No.
Guddu: Good
(Guddu comes and grabs the plate out of Kalsanwali Mami's hands and puts it in the kitchen. He pulls out a plate and starts putting food on it. After he fills the plate he puts it on the side. He then brings out all the food that Runjhun has made and puts it on the table. He takes some containers and starts filling them with food)
Billo Mami: Guddu. What are you doing with our food?
Guddu: Don't ask questions. You will see.
( Guddu quickly sends an SMS to Kukkan)
Kukkan: Bhaiyya. What happened? Why have you called me here?
Guddu: Beta. Take these containers of food to the charity kitchen down the street
Mittho Mami: What? You cannot do that. This is our food
Guddu: (angry) You have not seen what kind of things I can do. This only a trailer
Kalsanwali: I will call my father and he send people to beat you
Guddu: We will see. My work will be done before you can call your father
Billo Mami: Tau. You have no right to take this food
Guddu: First of all. I am the son-in- law of this house. I have every right
Second thing is that you people did not make this food., so I do not need to ask for your permission. Third. I can do whatever I want and if you try to stop me you will regret it.
(The Mami's knew what Guddu was capable of so they decided to not say anything. They looked on as Kukkan picked up the containers of food and left)
Kalsanwali Mami: Now what do we eat?
Guddu: Food. That you will make yourself.
(All three mamis were shocked)
Guddu: That was a little shock. Now for the bigger shock. You three will make food for everyone everyday and if there is any problem in that food then I will take care of the person who made it in my special style. Do you all understand what I just said?
(All three Mamis shake their heads yes)
Guddu : Good. I am glad you understand. It is in your benefit
Guddu (to Runjhun): Let's go and eat
Runjhun: But..
Guddu: I do not want to hear your support for your Mamis. I already know that you think that what I have done is wrong. But I am doing this for them. If you leave this house who will do their work? It is better that they become independent now.
(Runjhun thinks about what Guddu said and nods her head. Guddu smiles and heads towards the kitchen to get the plate that he had filled earlier)
Runjhun: (sees the plate): Who is that for?
Guddu: You. Of course
(Runjhun smiles and takes the plate from Guddu's hands)
Guddu: Let's go and eat.
(Guddu starts walking up the stairs with Runjhun following close behind)
