@current: You nailed it completely. Shyam is the good, but boring character...he is not an (or is not shown as) intense character like ASR. He is friendly and understanding...and again very bland because he seems to be a little too perfect. That could change though in upcoming episodes if he's really married to Arnav's sister, but right now there is nothing much intriguing about Shyam since he represents the 'attainable'

What makes me mad is that he's not even that intruging to begin with, so I am disinterested by his role. He's only yawn worthy, and it's a pity he's being stereotyped in such a manner. How's ASR going to be jealous of a man that stands no chance in front of him to begin with? ASR's shadow is more interesting than Shyam's presence in a scene. I'd have liked him more (or well, have strongly felt abut the character) had he been shady and gray from the start. Yet he's shown to be that common man always shielding the girl (as if women are so weak), protecting her from harm's way, and firing from the back. He's not really devious and shrewd either to have his presence strongly felt; he's somewhere in the middle and hence I feel he's average.

When I see numerous posts on the forum relating to Shyam, I wonder why folks even waste an ounce of emotion on him, because we all know he's got nothing on ASR. He's that predictable. 😆 Cmon, the man even tries to hide away from ASR's car! 🥱

Great topic Zainu, he's an antithesis of ASR in all ways. Kya baat hoti agar ASR is shown to be jealous of a man that matches his demeanor, status, and aura. Mazaa aayega then.

Thanks for liking the post and agreeing..I guess creatives for hindi soaps always go for stereo typical roles...typecast middle class boy who has to be the villain..Yes it would have been different if the person had been a notch higher than ASR..then sparks would fly..

and I love the way you put it ..but in a hindi soap the villain always has to be either a complete joker

or a dud ..I have yet to see someone create a villain much better than the ASR without the risk of him being overshadowed..Shyam ticks all the boxes for being the average humdrum guy on the street who would hardly put ASR in the shade..

ASR will always burden Shyam's being and thus, at some point of time, he even might be jealous of Arnav and his qualities.

The thing i disliked the most about Shyam was that he has abandoned his wife(as it has been speculated that he is Anjali's husband). If he is her husband in reality, then it's shocking to see him live in Khushi's house with another name and another personality. That seems out of the normal and so not usual.

why does the villain have to be all black and not grey

Why could not Shyam be just a friend..

Why does this have to be a love triangle and not something different..

I agree...if he is two timing and then putting up in Bua's house..then he is has reached the biggest height of sleaze..

it's da actor dat ticks me off more than da character. we'v seen so many villains on tv & celluloid before; srk in darr/baazigar/anjaam, ronit roy in kzk/kasam se, daljeet chachi in kis desh, sindoora in dulhann (zee tv show) etc...

wat im tryn to say is, i just LOVED those above mentioned actors and their villainish grey shades in more than da main leads. but here, no sooner dis fake dabang bracelet dude ws shown savin kushi in lucknov, i felt like destroyn da tv cz i just could not stop myself from dislikin him...

his actin just pisses me off each time he zooms in da screen...

no offense to his fans though...

YEH YEEEH! Baby you took the words right out of my mouth, Wow this 'thing' that is namely supposed to be a human being. one that saves Khushi-ji from gundas and saves women yet also hurts women (Anjali) Wow I do have a lot of hatred from him. And I know this sounds REALLY mean but I think that if the character of Shyam was cast as somebody who is extremely good looking then people wouldn't hate him so much. I'm actually shocked at how many people have decided the character of somebody based entirely upon looks! (BTW I don't hate him cos of the way he looks. Its his character that I dislike)

But I'm going off topic. Yeh so he seriously needs to get off my telly screen and go save Laxmi from Nani-ji seeing as he loves rescuing people/things/mammals etc etc. I'm pretty sure Laxmi isn't too happy having to wear those hideous pieces of cloth they call clothes and constantly being smothered by Nanijis kisses. Mwah Mwah Mwah!
