Mera Maa's question on whether IPL affected MKAP last year as well..got me curious and I did some finding out...and come to realize that unlike what every thought that kriya maritial rape got us into top 10...It was actually Kriya marriage that got us into top 10. But from the spreadsheet you can see that Kriya marriage and a few weeks after that..we were still in teens...but that was the effect of IPL. I looked through the IPL 2010 rankings and calculated the top 10 fiction shows during that time..and found MKAP was in top 10 right from kriya marriage time...Check out the results below:

What a thorough analysis👏. So MKAP never stuck to #1 for long. Is there a show that was #1 for 12 weeks in a row, ever. among the dramas?

The exec from PH said they were shooting for TRPS of 7-8 and for a while now the show has been hovering in the 3-5 range at best. With new shows popping up frequently while others get shut down in a hurry, is that number a realistic one?

No...MKAP hasn't stuck on No 1 for long...but then no other show in the recent past has either...Don't think any show has been on top for 12 consecutive weeks in the recent one year...coz there is too much competition..every week..we will have new shows competing...and old shows bringing in twists and turns..

A trp of 7-8 in today's time is a bit unrealistic in my opinion...unless if you introduce something new and fresh to the show...I would say aim to be in top 10 every week and if you are in top 5 ..that is even better...but maintaining a number 1 position is not possible for long in today's tv industry...my opinion...

That timeslot is confusing ..way too much..I thought they take trps at the start.which is 7.30..😕😕.did u see Choti Bahu also slipped into top 10 yesterday??...
