Recently watched Tanu Weds Manu. I want to say that it was fantastic, but I sadly didn't find it too great.
Maddy was great, but his role was waaay too vegetarian. He had like no scope to prosper and show emotions or anything. I didn't really like how they depicted a seedha-saadha, quiet guy. Seedhe-saadhe people have more depth than THAT man.
Also, his whole falling in love with Tanu was very poorly displayed. He falls in love with her after... she falls asleep on their go-see? Like THAT? so much in love that he finds a hard time parting ways?
It wasn't too believable.
The main things I really liked about this movie were the music, which is AMAZING, by a new music director too. Lovelovelove Yun Hi and Rangrez and Piya Na Rahe Mann Basiya...
LOVED Jimmy Shergill. he's awesome! now HE has a really meaty role, gives him a lot of scope to show himself as a good actor, and lets him explore a totally different type of role than he he usually stars in. Good stuff!
I'd say the star of the movie is Deepak Dobriyal.. Pappi xD I really like his comic timing, he isn't gimmicky or anything, just simple and funny. He plays a good buddy to Manu, and his flirting scene with the girl at Eijaz's wedding is priceless 😆 "aap kaho toh naam badal daaloon? PAPPA bana lete hain" HAHAHAHHAHAH XD
OH yeah :D And I loved Eijaz Khan. Mostly because he's hot xD and I like him in a Punjabi aavtar, i think it suits him well. He was great!
