Chapter 18: My Dulhan

The next few days passed by smoothly and everyday Maan would go to the office for a few hours and come back early. He did not like leaving Geet alone but he had no choice. A couple of those days he would drop her off at her parents house for the day. But he felt bad because him and Geet were not even legally married and they were living together.

He consistently went to his lawyer so he could get Geet's divorce completed as soon as possible. But the hardest part was yet to come. Getting Dev to sign the papers would be hard and he needed to have both Geet and Dev present infront of the judge.

However, he hated the way Dev looked at Geet. And when he thought about their first night at the farmhouse, could Dev have really been there?

One day Geet woke up and saw that Maan was all ready for work. He told her that today he had to go to the lawyers and make sure Dev signed the papers. Geet cringed at that name but she knew she had to face it.

"How about you stay here at home today, and I will come back around lunch?"

She stretched her arms in bed, "Okay that's fine. I feel really tired and weak today as well."

He sat down on the bed next to her and kissed her forehead, "Yes please rest."

He held her hands and looked into her eyes. He could see that the last few days had been way to hectic for her.

"I am really sorry for all this. I promise you tonight everything with your divor…I mean soon we will be married and my mom will have to accept us. And we can live in the mansion."

She cupped his face in her hands, as she could not see him like this. "Do not be sorry. If anything I should be thanking you for doing all this for me. There is no one in the world now a days that is so caring like you."

She hugged him tightly and thanked Baba Ji that he sent Maan to her.

He pulled apart from her and put his finger on her chin to raise her head slightly, "Promise me one thing."

"Anything," she smiled intently at him.

"Promise me that you will never consider yourself a burden on me. I love you and have forgotten everything in your past so you should too."

She was a bit hesitant to agree to that but seeing the passion and trust in his eyes, she said, "I promise."

He kissed her one last time before he got up to leave. As he was leaving he turned around, "Be ready in the afternoon. We are going to my house. Dadi ma called me this morning and she and my Mom want to see both of us."

Geet could not believe her ears, "Really?"

"Yeah really." She jumped onto her knees and pulled him to her. He patted her hair down. Seeing her so happy and excited after many days made him feel amazing. She sat back down on the bed, as he got up to get his wallet and phone.

"Okay, I will wear that sari you bought for me."

"You better," he smirked at her.

He started to walk back toward her with his arms open but she jumped onto the other side of the bed, "Maan go to work now!"

"No one last hug!"

"No"

"Yes"

"No"

"Yes"

"No"

"No?"

"Yes"

He smirked and ran toward her as she looked confused at what she said.

"Hey you tricked me," she pouted.

"You know you liked it." He lay on the bed next to her and started kissing her neck, while caressing her arm. Geet smiled at the warm pleasure she felt with him by her side.

She then told him to leave or else he will be late.

After he finally left she slept for two more hours. When she woke up she looked around at the room and there was sunlight everywhere. This put her in a really good mood and she got up and just smiled. She went down and had her breakfast and then came back up to get ready. She did not wear sari's that often so she wanted to have enough time to put it on.

The sari that she was going to wear was a really pretty one. It was red with light embroidery in golden at the border. Maan really liked it because he said she looked like a dulhan in it. She put on the sari and then put on the matching jewelry that he bought for her with it. She looked at herself and she did really look like a dulhan. She felt shy looking at herself in the mirror.

Then all of a sudden she heard the bell downstairs ring. She glanced over at the clock and it was 12:30

"Maan's home so soon?"

She fixed herself up and went downstairs. She ran to the door and wanted to show Maan how she looked in the sari. She flung open the door.

But it was not Maan standing there…it was Dev!

"Tum?"

He came in and shut the door.

"Leave right now. You cannot be here!" she yelled. Geet was scared, horrified, confused, and angry. What the hell was he doing here? Maan had said that the divorce was finalized and done with today.

Dev fell to his knees and grabbed onto Geet's legs. "Please give me one last chance. I promise I will not hurt you again and I will love you forever and ever!"

"Dev get off of me please!"

He jumped to his feet and grabbed her. She froze and did not know what to say or do. He was so close to her and backing her towards the wall. His tall and large figure was intimidating to her petite figure.

He looked at her through his devious eyes, she was dressed up in heavy gold jewelry and a backless blouse that was turning him on further. "See I knew you would forgive me and come with me. And you are all ready for me too. I should have took you the first night you came to this farmhouse but that God damn man, Maan! He had to come just in time and I could not find you."

He hugged her tightly and she tried her best to get out of his grip but she could not."I even played your favorite tune on the piano for you." Next he was grabbing her arm and dragging her out of the house. She yelled but there was no one around to help her or stop him.

He was about to push her into his car but a strong arm came and stopped him. Maan.

"What the hell do you think you are doing?"

He grabbed Dev by his collar and pushed him to the floor. He then hugged Geet as she cried her heart out and clung to Maan. "It's okay, I am here now."

He patted her head and then looked at Dev who was getting up now.

Maan let go of Geet and punched Dev a few times. Dev tried to hit Maan back but missed. After a while, Dev was bleeding and was blue and black all around. If Maan continued, it was guaranteed that Dev would land straight in hell.

Geet begged Maan to stop now, "Why are you dirtying your hands by touching this filthy monster?"

She took Maan inside and he called the cops to come take Dev off his property. The cops came soon and arrested Dev. He kept on begging and crying to Geet to save him and be with him. But she just turned her face and hid her face in Maan's chest, as he gently patted her back.

After all the cop cars had left, Maan took out a file and gave it to Geet. She looked at it and it was divorce papers with Dev's signatures on them. He explained to her that he got the signatures when she went inside and the cops were leaving with him.

"Geet you are single now and free. You are no longer related to that b****d.

She wept tears of joy and accomplishment now. She had finally gained the happiness of being separated from Dev and he was being punished for the pain that she had endured for the past year.

Maan then told her how Savitri had come to his office today and apologized. She cried a lot and said she realized her mistake and was ready to accept Geet.

He stood up and reached his hand to her, "Come Geet, my dulhan, lets go home now."

He picked her up and took her to the car and drove her to the Khurana mansion.

Amazing update....so that was Dev in the house that night...glad he got caught before he did anything harmful to Geet and also Geet got her divorce from him....and now Savitri too accepted Geet as her bahu..... and Maan now took her to his mansion....the morning Maaneet moments were beautiful....😃

After signing those papers y he came to her for forgivness..... I mean i m sure he deffinately had his selfish reasons.
