Tell us something about your character, Tej…
I am a dabbang person. I am an angry young man, and my topmost priority is to look after my family. No one in the village dares to mess with me. Moreover, I am angry with Maan for the way he has treated my cousin, Geet. I will not let Maan hurt her any more.
What do you like most about the role of Tej?
I love the role of Tej because it is so unlike me, Prashant. Tej is really mature and responsible. He is angry all the time, and it is really a challenge for me to behave that way, as I am happy-go-lucky in real life. The character has shaped up very well, and I am getting a good response for it.
Your look in the show is very simple. Were you involved in planning the look?
I am a simple, Punjabi guy, who wears jeans and a Pathani Kurta. I do not wear any jewelry, and there is nothing jazzy about my look. My look speaks volumes about my simplicity. I like the look that our designer has created for me.
Being a city dweller, was is it tough to play a villager?
More than playing a villager, it was difficult to play an angry young man. However, I took it up as a challenge.
How is it working with your co-stars in Geet – Hui Sabse Parayi, especially since Gurmeet is a good friend?
It is wonderful working with the cast of the show. They are helpful, and don't throw any tantrums. Gurmeet has been a close friend since a long time. To tell you the truth, the sets of Geet feel just like home.
How would you describe your relationship with Geet?
I am Geet's elder cousin and am protective about her. I cannot bear the fact that he has thrown her out of the house. Any brother would be angry if his sister is treated badly and it's the same with me.
What do you think of Geet's predicament?
Geet is sad because Maan has thrown her out of the house. I cannot bear to see her in this condition, and will do everything I can to make her smile. I am also determined not to keep Maan away from her.
Are you as protective about your siblings in real life too?
I believe that any brother will be protective of his siblings if anyone tries to hurt them or upsets them. Of course, every one has different ways of showing their love and concern; not everyone is as aggressive as Tej.
Did you watch the show before your entry? What do you like about it?
Yes, I watched the show because Gurmeet starred in it. I wanted to see how his character, Maan, is shaping up. STAR One shows are youth-based, and its dialogues are the way normal people speak in everyday life, and that is what I love. As for Geet, I feel it is one of the best up-market shows on TV today.
How different is your character in Geet from that in Pyaar Mein Twist?
My role in Geet – Hui Sabse Parayi is completely different from that in Pyaar Mein Twist.Tej is intense, while Pyaar Mein Twist is a comedy, so I am totally over the top.
We heard that there is going to be a huge confrontation between Tej and Maan in upcoming episodes, can you tell us a little about it?
Yes, a confrontation sequence is being planned, because I hate Maan and want to protect Geet from him. Now that Maan has entered Punjab, there are some exciting sequences in store.
