Well, from beginning only the SSP's family has shown to be a little eccentric...they openly accept the son's latest crush as their bahu, they force the other son to have relations in what seems to be a marriage of convenience, the SIL is abused by her husband with the knowledge of the wife and the maid goes around wearing skimpy clothes. 😆 However, Devyani will realise the shallowness of her words only when her own perfect world shatters....

I didn't watch yesterdays' epi yet. But read the analysis, especially by poppy (loved reading it btw).

About Devyani: You comment about her being crazy... might be right. She is not normal. Her way of dealing with her issues makes it evident. She doesn't react to things in a normal way. And this happens sometimes to people who try their best to ignore the problems in their life. Eventually they get to a point where their mind doesn't react normally to any situation. The first thing that stuck out in my mind was her intensive cleaning of utensils in the train after she found out from a random guy that SSP had been hurt and he didn't tell her. Gaurav came and told her to relax. But she continued cleaning like a mad woman. Tho she expressed that she was nervous i felt that was sort of a compulsive behavior. People who live such a controlled life often have quirks to their behavior because they need an outlet to vent their emotions because on the surface they don't express their true feelings. I think Devyani's oddness is a result of years of suppressed emotions that have never had an outlet. I feel that i need to find out more about Devyani's issues and how her relationship with SSP really is to comment more about her mental status. (didn't see the scn where apparently Devyani gives the sex talk to Vidya.. sounds very wierd). Would be interesting to see Devyani drunk and letting loose a little bit.

Imli's lack of respect: Tho Imli is a maid at the house, i feel Imli and Jaggi have more of a extended family status in the Jhaarkar house. Adi treats Jaggi like a best friend cum brother. Imli's behavior towards Gaurav in the first epi where she teased him and told him to come out.. all showed the freedom they have in the household. Then the fact that Imli's kids run loose all over the place and are almost treated like the grandchildren of the house... dadu plays with them, and when SSP came Imli went and asked him about her kids and if they are alright..meaning that SSP would share the responsibility for the kids. SSP scolded Imili to put the dupatta on her head like she was the bahu of the house (ignore the fact that her clothing is inappropriate otherwise). Its still a bit strange that Imili calls Gaurav bhaiya ji and then doesn't give that respect to Vidya because if Gaurav is older then Vidya would be bhabi ji for her. Unless i heard wrong and Gaurav is not older and is also treated like a younger sibling by Imli. Partly its Imli's character and partly its the freedom that she shares in the household. The way she orders people around even while arranging things for the sindoori raat, she said on the phone "I am imli calling from SSP's house"... like her place in SSP's family holds some weight.
