I don't know why anyone is surprised. Sadistic violence against women is the default position of too much television drama. No show is complete without at least one story involving a shrieking woman in a dungeon. Thank you,
What upsets me is the pervading sense that none of this matters. That, somehow, just because it's a drama, it shouldn't be taken seriously, that we are somehow watching the horror at a remove. Or, worse, that if the consequences of a violent act are revealed that this somehow makes it all right, because we've seen the reality then that's OK.
No that does not make it okay, i feel all this Voilence against women thats shown on Television should be banned because one we truly cannot ever go through or even closely portray what the actual victims go through and secondly by showing it on our screen we are basically inviting it in to our homes.
And now coming to MJHT issue...i feel as if they bit off more then they can chew because they would never do justice to such a delicate issue that has been going around for centuries and would continue to do so. But on the contrary i really hope they come true and complete this track in the most mature and sensible way otherwise....they are only rediculing such behaviour and not taking it seriously.
I being a journalist have met hundreds who go through this torture everyday of their lives but they refuse to speak up because of fear.....but we need to learn that this fear is not bigger than us, we need to take a step only then we can make a difference.
Amazing Post and I'm really glad you brought this issue to the upfront because we tend to avoid such things failing to realize these kind of events are the most common.
