I just knew my Destination

Fascinated by drama since childhood, Shashank Vyas realized that acting is his only world, hence he left Ujjain and came to Mumbai. After grabbing the character of Jagiya in Balika Vadhu, and now there's no looking behind for him.

Shashank Vyas had given the MBA entrance exam, but he was more interested in acting. With the permission of his parents he came to Mumbai in 2009. 23 years old Shashank entered Colors most popular show Balika Vadhu as Jagdish. Some words from himself:

Listened to Heart

I have done my schooling from St. Mary Convent School, Ujjain, and B. Com. from Maharana Ranjit Singh College, Indore. I always had active participation in school's and college's cultural activities. People praised me for my work which kept on encouraging me. I realized that I can do better in this field. I talked to my parents and they allowed me to do what I wanted.

Mumbai was a Stranger to Me

When I came to Mumbai, I didn't knew anyone here. I just knew my destination; I just knew what I want. I lend a room in sharing with 2 other guys. Then I took admission in 3 months' course of Anupam Kher's acting classes. After completing that course, I started approaching production houses. I was quite fortunate, so I got print ads for Tata Indicom and Idea mobiles, and commercials for McDonalds, Everest, LG Mobiles. I also gave an audition for Sphere Origins, but I didn't knew that this audition was for Balika Vadhu. When I signed the contract then it opened on me that I am going to play grown up Jagdish of Balika Vadhu.

I was little scared

I had a mindset that Balika Vadhu is a popular show. Before I started shooting for it, the production house held 10 days workshop. When I met the director, Pradip Sir, at the sets of Jodhpur, I was little scared, but he encouraged me. I am trying to give my 100%.

I am not changed at all

After bagging Jagdish's role in Balika Vadhu, I just got busy, but I am all the same, I am not changed at all. I still live in that shared room. Now I just don't need to do struggle anymore.
