Heer looked down afraid of where the conversation would turn and began walking back. Her foot slipped on an icy rock causing her to fall backwards. Prem immediately caught her in his arms. The one thing that Heer was dreading the most was now starring at her; Prem's deep brown eyes. She felt her heart racing in her chest as he gently tilted her upright his face inches away from hers. Prem continued to gaze into Heer's almond shaped eyes; their beauty completely mesmerizing him. He felt that familiar ache in his heart coming back and without hesitation he seized the opportunity. Prem gently kissed her.
He could taste the strawberry lip gloss she wore; its sweetness intensifying the appeal of her lips against his. As the kiss ended he whispered, "I'm sorry I know that was wrong, but please let me finish what I have to say." Heer just silently looked at him. "I want you to know how much you mean to me. I thank God every day that I have someone like you in my life. You are someone I can count on and turn to when things get rough. I'm sorry I haven't been very good to you. I cur---" Heer placed her hand on his mouth shaking her head. "I'm the one that needs to say sorry," she whispered. "I've treated you so badly these past weeks..."
Prem silenced Heer by kissing her palm as he pulled her hand down. "...I curse myself for not telling you sooner how much I cherish our relationship. And I know that now isn't the right time...that this is wrong but I have to let you know what my heart has been telling me for the longest time...that I love you. I love you, Heer."

Heer felt a sudden surge of euphoria her eyes lighting up to his confession; one that she had been waiting so long to hear. Without any further thought she blurted, "I love you too." Prem beamed a huge smile and then kissed her again. He was surprised by the sudden urgency between them. He grinned as he felt Heer probe her mouth against his demanding entry. He gently opened his mouth allowing their tongues to intertwine. He felt her hands snake up around his neck her fingers ruffling through his silky hair. Eventually the kiss broke; Prem nuzzled his nose against hers, "I like the strawberry lip gloss you have on. And..." his lips brushing against hers ever so slightly as he continued to talk, "where did you learn to kiss like that?" Heer blushed suddenly getting embarrassed. "Nothing to get embarrassed about...a girl should know what she wants," he teased.

He took her hand and placed it inside his jacket against the left side of his chest. "Can you feel that?" She nodded feeling how his heart was racing. "Only you can do that to me." Heer's blush deepened causing Prem to smile. He titled his head initating another kiss. "This just seems like a dream. I don't want to wake up," Heer breathed against his lips.

"We don't have to," he replied. Heer pulled away in alarm. "Wait, just hear me out. I know this maybe wrong but...this is our moment. Let's live in this moment...forget our responsibilities or what's expected. No one is here to judge us. It's only you and me. Let's live in this moment for us...only us...for however long we can."

"But Prem---" she started only to be cut off by his kiss. Heer closed her eyes relishing the feel of his arms wrapped tightly around her waist, the movement of his lips against hers, and the taste of his tongue against hers. She couldn't contain her desires anymore and let herself succumb to whatever risk they were taking.
They spent a good amount of time basking in the warmth of their newly discovered love for one another. As the sky above slowly turned into an array of orange and red hues, Heer reluctantly pulled away ending the kissing sessions. Prem gently rubbed his nose against her nose causing her to smile. "Where are you going?" he breathed.

Heer inwardly smiled at how Prem had noticed these small things about her. She gazed up at the setting sun the sky now a purplish blue hue. "We better go before it gets really cold," she said and slipped out from Prem's arms. He stayed behind for a few minutes taking everything in. Prem grinned and bent down patting the icy rock that had given him the chance to confess his feelings. Heer turned around wondering what was taking him so long, "Prem what are you doing?"

Prem did a quick check to the left and right. "I don't see anyone." He delicately lifted her chin up with his right hand, "Besides they shouldn't be peeping over here anyways." Heer continued to cast a downward glance embarrassed by this public display of affection. Prem tenderly traced his nose against her check moving his lips ever so slowly towards their rightful destination. Heer felt her legs give underneath her as she closed her eyes enjoying his teasing. Prem grinned mischievously and pulled away causing Heer to open her eyes with great disappointment. "Maybe you're right. The neighbors might be watching," he said. Heer frowned and grabbed the collar of his coat pulling him back. "What happened don't you care about your neighbors?" he teased.

A grin spread arcoss Prem's face as he tilted his head and gave her a long tender kiss. He slowly pulled back opening his eyes to see Heer's eyes still shut and her mouth still lingering in the moment. "Now, that wasn't too hard, now was it?" he said. Heer's eyes fluttered open at the sound of his voice. He leaned in again this time towards her ear, "So, can I call you later tonight?" he whispered.
She grinned at his question, "Of course."

"I'm sorry Papa, but I have to do this for me...for this moment...however long that may last," she whispered as she took the engagement ring off and put it in her jewelry box. "Please forgive me."
