well, i have sorted my problem in a way
and have started on the update too
but due to lack of time, i am unable to write much
so i'll update as soon as i am satisfied with how much i have written

my mom makes sure i eat an apple every day

and it keeps the doctor away

isliye diabetes nahi hoge

plus i love sweet things and people

Part 6

Nupur was still recovering from the shock after the Principal had left the stage. She saw the whole college rush up on the stage to hug and congratulate Mayank. She quietly came down avoiding the emerging crowd, and was taken in a rib crashing hug by Adhiraj and Suhaani.

"Wow Nupur, you and bro, i am sure you guys will rock as a team, this year, the college newspaper will rock. I'll just go and register us three for one issue each, or else, we'll have no issue left for us", saying this, Suhaani rushed off to the office of the college.

Adhiraj understood Nupur was disturbed by something, but couldnt catch the real reason, so he placed his hand on her shoulder, and started leading her towards the exit. Nupur also walked with him like a puppet. As they were moving, they were stopped by someone.

"Hi Adhiraj, hey Nupur, congrats for your success", Mayank put forward his hand, as he gave a smile to Adhiraj and Nupur. Nupur came out of her trance, and saw Adhiraj looking suspiciously at a grinning Mayank. She saw Mayank's hand, and said,

"Kya hua, are you hurt?", Nupur asked inquiringly, Adhiraj gave a loud laugh, while Mayank pulled back his hand sheepishly. It seemed as if Nupur hadnt heard what Mayank had said. She was still looking first at the laughing Adhiraj, and then at Mayank. After feeling very embarassed as Adhiraj kept laughing, finally Mayank decided to speak up.

"Ah Nupur, since we will have to work together a lot now, can i have your number, so that i can reach you anytime?", Mayank asked Nupur, and this led to Adhiraj's laughter immediately being shut up. He was about to speak something to Mayank, and Nupur sensed it, so she immediately pulled his hand, and spoke up,

"Yeah, sure, write it down, i'll speak", Mayank had seen Nupur pull back Adhiraj, but he chose to ignore this, n took out his cell,

"Shoot"

Nupur spoke the number as Mayank feeded it,

"So, hope we can do well together", Mayank again put forward his hand, and this time, instead of Nupur, Adhiraj took it.

"Dont worry, Nupur does well whatever she does, now bye", saying so, Adhiraj pulled Nupur and she walked away with him. Mayank felt something stir in his heart, as he saw her leave with Adhiraj, but since he didnt know the reason for it, he decided to ignore it.

Adhiraj led Nupur to the garden, at their favourite place, the fountain in the garden. he sat there besides her, with a frown on his face. Nupur knew she was in for trouble this time, Adhiraj wont leave her without answers.

"Uh Adhiraj..."

"Nupur, how could you do this, i mean, i just didnt expec this from you, of all the people i know, it couldnt be you, how could you..."

Nupur lost track of what Adhiraj was saying as she thought about answering him. She knew he would've noticed of how much tensed he was after the names for the editor ans EA, and perhaps now she would have to reveal to him the reasons of her worry.

"... how could you even think of giving your number to him, a guy like Mayank Sharma..."

"Phone Number?", Nupur asked with a shock on her face,

"Yeah, phone number, havent you been listening to me, i have been asking since so long that why did you agree to give your number to him, just give me one reason", Nupur was glad to give him any reson to distract him from even thinking about her situation.

"Um, he asked for it", Nupur tried being cheeky to calm him down, but this had the reverse effect instead, Adhiraj started shouting at her.

"Stop giving me those one liners, do you understand, 'he asked for it'. If anyone, and i mean anyone comes and asks for your number, do you give it away, aise hi. For God's sake Nupur, you do know of his reputation, and still, i just dont believe it, how could you..."

Nupur was having a silent laughter as she heard Adhiraj banter. She was actually enjoying Adhiraj lose his temper this way. After she had her heart's fill, she finally decided to stop him from further torcher, or perhaps, stop herself from anymore torcher.

"Adhiraj, SHUT UP", Nupur's sudden scream quitened Adhiraj immediately, and he immeditely closed his mouth, putting a finger on his lips.

"Now listen to me you Mr Adhiraj Kapoor, I dont see any harm in giving my number to Suhaani's brother. Suhaani, remember, your girl friend, and my best friend, who was ready to fight her brother for me. When i have Suhaani on my side, why should i be scared of any reputation her brother's got. Moreover, i gave him my landline number, so just chill, ok?", she finished off, and looked at him for a reply. He spoke nothing, and she was irritated,

"Adhiraj, OK??? (again, he spoke nothing) Adhiraj, are you even listening to what i just spoke, why cant you reply, huh, speak something, will you?", she shouted,

"Because you asked me to shut up, isliye", he finally put his finger down, and spoke, which made Nupur burst into laughter.

"Nupur, enough of your speeches, now, i need an answer from you", Adhiraj said,

"FYI Adhiraj ji, previously also i was answering your question only", she smirked,

"Nupur, i am pretty serious, so just come out of these one liners, and answer me. Why were you so worried that the principal chose you, and i want only the truth, please", Adhiraj spoke softly,

Nupur had thought ki he might have forgotten, but looked like he hadnt, and she thought perhaps it was time she told him.

"Adhiraj, i was worried, because i am scared Adhiraj"

"Scared of what Nupur?"

"Scared of disappointing everyone, all those who love me, and have placed their hopes on me. Everyone looks upto me, because i am Uday Bhushan's sister, they all expect me to be successful like him. But fear that if i fail, everyone will raise their fingers at Uday bhai and Bade Papa, Badi Maa, and my whole family. They will say that i failed because i am not their blood..."

"Nupur!", Adhiraj spoke in a shocked voice, which made Nupur stop immediately, seeing her state, Adhiraj continued,

"Nupur, i dont believe it, how could you think all this, i can see how much you've hurt yourself by thinking all this. Nupur, why do you think you will disappoint people, trust me Nupur, you are the best at whatever you do. And even if you fail, which is not happening, no one will ever stop loving you, because we love you too much..."

Just then they saw Suhaani coming, Nupur pleaded with eyes not to mention anything, and Adhiraj agreed. Adhiraj noticed that Nupur seemed much more relaxed than before, and hence did not start this topic again.

At night, there was a party at the Bhushan house celebrating Nupur's first step towards her success. Nupur first felt awkward, and slightly hesitant, but later on, she realised the happiness around her, and her heart gave a silent consent to the things around her.

They both were sitting under the shady tree, discussing about hteir next step. Suddenly, a fruit from above fell down, hitting him on the head. It was a light fruit, but due to its sudden fall, he felt the pain a little more. But even before he could reach his head, her hands reached there, and caressed him. He was lost seeing the worry and concern in her eyes for him. After a few seconds, when she noticed his stare at her, she also lost herself in him. She had held his head in her hands, and slowly and quietly, without breaking the eye lock, she shifted his head in her lap. As soon as his head found a place in her lap, her hands moved from his face, to his hair. She moved her hands gently, creating an unknown sensation in him. All this time, neither had broken the eye lock.

"Nupur", he whispered huskily,

"Mayank", he heard his name for the first time from her, and it felt just perfect, too complete. He couldnt control any more than he already had, and getting up, he slowly brought his face closer to hers. Her hands were still moving, and he also brought up his hands, to caress her face, lovingly. She immediately shivered at his touch, but this did not stop the either of them. Their faces came closer, he was so close to her, that he could feel her breath right on his face. He stopped a second, to have a look at her. She had closed her eyes, and was waiting for the big moment. He saw how beautiful she looked, and moved forward to kiss...

"OH FREAKS", Mayank got up from his sleep with a jerk. He couldnt have, he just couldnt have had that dream, and that too, with Nupur, no, no ways, no blo*dy ways. It was just not possible to have dreamt like that about Nupur. Just thinking about the dream made him uncomfortable, a blush crossed his cheeks as he thought about it to himself. And may what have happened, his heart couldnt deny the fact that thinking about her just felt perfect, a little too more than it should have felt.

"I need to meet you Nupur, i really need to", saying this, he decided to be punctual to the college for atleast once in his life.
