The Last Kiss!
Sanjeevani was hectic. In fact, that was an understatement… All the present resident doctors were in their last and the final year of residentship before they finally become attending doctors or senior doctors… They needed to do so much, they needed to learn so much, and they needed to practice so much… Somehow, the two years of internship and two years of residentship seemed a very short span of time to learn and somehow, this one last year had suddenly become the most important and filled with pressure… All of them had to select their area of expertise and specialize in them, be on call for more than 16 hours a day… There was this sudden urge to excel, succeed, thirst to be the best amongst every resident and hence, the competition was severe…
The third year of their residency had a new challenge for them. A chief resident would be appointed and the one with an exceptional performance would be given the designation. The chief resident would be responsible for all the residents and according to their choice of experetise would assign them surgeries that would eventually make them gain more experience in the fields they were interested in. By the end of the second year of their residency, almost everyone had decided their area of speciality and most of them were almost working on them.
Armaan had found an exceptional love for nuerology and the god of nuero- Dr. Shashank was right in front of him. The brain, being the most complex part of the body was very difficult to study as well and Armaan loved challenges and therefore, his decision was sorted.
Anjali, being equally ambitious and competitive was extremely interested in the heart, i.e she desired to be a well-renowned cardio-thoracic surgeon. The heart, being as complex as the brain, gave her the high to specialize there.
Muskaan, being the one who was scared of blood chose Psychiatry. Though she had overcomed that fear of hers in these years but she still detested it and psychiatry caught her interest and hence she decided to specialize in it.
Rahul was interested in cosmetic surgery and hence breast implants, plastic surgeries, face lifts, skin complications, burns etc. had become his latest interest and area of operation.
Atul had an exceptional liking for kids, so his choice was bound to be pediatrics.
Nikki had become a pro at healing and mending broken bones and muscles and tissues in the past 2 years and hence had decided to specialize in orthopedics.
And as far as Ridhima was concerned, she was still confused. She had an equal amount of experience in Gynacology as well as Pediatrics. She didn't know what to specialize in. She felt like taking up Pediatrics due to the love and affection she had for children but she found Obstretics & Gynacology more challenging and hard-core.
She had spoken to Shashank to help her find a solution and he asked her to practice in both the fields for a few months and decide what she is good at and what she likes better. Now, she needed a proper advice from Armaan. She was sure he would help her in trying to find a perfect solution to her problem.
It was nearly dinner time and Armaan and Ridhima were discussing a patient's case. The patient had a nuerological disorder and she was also 7 and half months pregnant. The patient could not terminate the pregnancy as it was too late but it was very important to have the brain surgery as soon as possible. Armaan and Ridhima therefore, were sitting together to find a solution to take care of both, the mother and the baby. And the only solution to the probem was to deliver the baby pre-mature and have the brain surgery.
They were seated in the study of their house wearing loose shorts and T-shirts, trying to find out all the possible solutions for this case. Armaan kept writing notes and points on the white board hung on the wall while Ridhima was seated on the couch looking at all the notes put down by Armaan and scanning the various reports. Their dinner laid aside on a small table from which they kept eating at irregular intervals.
The doorbell rang but Armaan and Ridhima were too engrossed in the case to bother to get up and answer as they knew the maid would answer the door…
Shashank and Padma entered their house and were welcomed by the maid.
Padma-Ridhima aur Armaan kahaan hai?
Maid-Woh study mein baithe hai kab se? Ek minute, main unhe bulaakar aati hu…
Shashank-Arrey nahi, hum hi wahaan chale jaate hai… Waise bhi yeh suitcase wahiin pe le jaana hai…
They entered the study to find a very cute scene in front of them. They saw Ridhima lazily sitting on the couch with a case file and a few X-rays in her hand and Armaan's head on her shoulder trying to study the same reports.
Padma-You both need a tight smack from me…
The sudden voice disturbed them and both of them came back from the medicineland.
Armaan-Arrey, Mumma, Papa… Aap kab aaye?
Armaan and Ridhima both got up and went towards them. Armaan straight went to Padma and gave her a tight hug while Ridhima being her dad's princess hugged him…
Ridhima-Sorry papa, we didn't realize only… Mumma, aapko phone kar dena chahiye tha na… You could have dinner with us…
Padma-I'm sorry but I don't have dinner like this…
She pointed out the plate lying with half-eaten, cold food…
Armaan-Woh, actually, I don't like whatever is made for dinner… Aapke haath ka khaana nahi hai na… Isiliye…
He winked…
Padma-Chal bol, kya khaana hai? Abhi bana deti hu…
Ridhima-Nahi Mumma… Armaan sirf mazaak kar raha hai…
Armaan-Basket, you shut up… Mumma, mujhe kheer chahiye… Please…
Padma-Sure… Give me half an hour…
Armaan-Sure…
Ridhima-Mumma chalo… I'll help you…
Padma-Nahi beta… you must be tired… I'll ask the maid to help me… Tab tak tum yeh suitcase dekh lo…
Armaan-Yeh suitcase? Isme kya hai?
Shashank-Armaan, isme meri saari surgical textbooks hai… Since you are interested in nuero, I thought you would be able to use them aur Ridhima, tumhare liye bhi isme books hai for gynac… Tumhari Smriti mom ki…
Armaan and Ridhima both got excited…
Ridhima tried to pick up the suitcase but the suitcase was very heavy for her, obviously.
Armaan-Basket, Superwoman banne ki koshish mat karo…
Armaan picked the suitcase and placed it on the table and Ridhima opened to see it…
She pulled out a few books to see them…
Armaan looked at a few books…
Armaan-Papa, you didn't have to give me these, I mean I would have got them anyway…
Shashnk-Armaan, I'm sure you would have got these books but I'm sure you would also be interested in the notes I made in these books when I was studying… And I don't need them anymore. So I thought you would make good use of them…
Armaan-Thank you so much Papa…
Shashank-Don't bother…
Engrossed in their own conversation, Armaan and Shashank both didn't notice Ridhima getting emotional looking at her first mother's books…
Picking those books, she could feel Smriti Mom's touch on it. The pages smelt like her and finally looking at her handwriting made her cry…
The sound of Ridhima's sniff attracted the two men's attention towards her…
Armaan went and gave her a side-hug…
Armaan-Hey Basket, kya hua?
Armaan was a little confused for her being so emotional suddenly but Shashank had guessed it…
He knew that would be coming…
He motioned Armaan that he would talk to Ridhima about it and hence Armaan made an excuse and moved out of the room…
Later, Armaan and Ridhima were on the bed almost ready to sleep…
He had been very worried about Ridhima crying earlier. Though he had almost guessed the but he needed to be sure…
Armaan-Basket, why were you crying before?
Ridhima-Nothing Armaan… Smriti mom ki yaad aa gayi thi… bass
Armaan came nearer and hugged her tight… He knew she needed tight hugs when she felt low…
Armaan-Aur Papa ne kya kaha?
Ridhima-He told me about how proud she will be to know I'm going to become a gynac. You know she was an adorable mom, though I lost her when I was only 10 but I remember her teaching me how to write and read and that's why when I saw her handwriting, I got a little emotional.
Armaan-I'm sure she must have been adorable and I'm sure her handwriting must be exactly like yours…
Ridhima-You know, as a matter of fact, our handwriting are similar…
Armaan-See, I told you…
Ridhima-I miss her sometimes…
Armaan-I'm sure you do….
Ridhima-You know it's so easy to talk to you…
Armaan-Meaning?
Ridhima-Means when Papa was talking to me, I didn't know how to put my feelings into words… But with you, I know for a matter of fact that, however I express it, you will see right through me and guess my exact feeling.
Armaan-I kow I have magical powers you see…
Ridhima-Yeah right… Now go to sleep… we have to report early tomorrow…
Armaan-Basket, I don't want to sleep… I want to hold you, I want to kiss you, and I want love you…
Ridhima-I don't mind but then we both are going to be super sleepy and tired and stressed out tomorrow…
Armaan-Didn't you know sex is the biggest stress-buster? I'm so bored of working for 18 hours a day and sleeping for the rest of the time… Let's make our life spicier…
Ridhima-But you wont like it today… I haven't got myself cleaned in 2 weeks now
Armaan-Basket… Not fair… You know I don't like it that way…
Ridhima-Exactly… But I'm sorry… I was so busy that I just didn't get anytime…
Armaan-Whatever, I'm not going to stop today because of this stupid reason…
Ridhima-Where am I stopping you? But then don't complain about it later…
Armaan-Fine… I won't but please be a little particular next time…
Ridhima-Promise…
And with that, their passionate love-making started…
Days passed by in a flurry. Their lives were more hectic than ever. Almost every doctor was on call for mostly the entire day. Some didn't go home for 2 or 3 days altogether and slept in the "on-call" room whenever they needed sleep in their breaks… Well, the "on-call" room was used for certain activities other than sleeping too but Ridhima didn't prefer that.
The day when the Chief Resident would be announced finally arrived. Everyone was waiting with anticipation, eager and hope. They had absolutely no clue who would be appointed and everyone hoped it would be them as it would be a major push on their career front…
Armaan and Ridhima reached the hospital a little early on that day. Somehow, Ridhima didn't want to get appointed as the chief resident as she was still confused over her speciality and was already practicing in 2 fields. She didn't want an additional responsibility and make the wrong choice just for power and a position.
The Chief Resident was announced and it was Dr. Armaan Mallik. He was so happy to get this position. He had worked really hard for it. The others, who were obviously happy for him, were a little jealous too but Ridhima wasn't. She was on top of the world when she came to know that Armaan was selected and considered the most deserving candidate for this position. But she was also disappointed to find out that she didn't deserve it. Though, she would have refused to accept the position if she was chosen, she would have liked to get chosen. Anyway, it didn't matter as Armaan was the chosen one and she could never be jealous of him.
The result was announced in front of everyone in the auditorium but Armaan had first gone and given Ridhima a tight hug. However, he didn't get a chance to talk as Dr. Shashank, Dr. Kirti, Dr. Shubhankar, and the other doctors were waiting to congratulate him. The rest of their gang was also very happy but somewhere down the line, Anjali was a little jealous. She congratulated him but it looked pretty much like an act. However, Armaan was too excited and happy to notice Anjali's reaction.
Later, he managed to drag Ridhma to the fire-escape to give her heartwarming rib-crashing hug and share his happiness with her in private…
Armaan-Basket, I'm so so so so so so happy… I so wanted this post and you knew it and I finally got it.
Ridhima-Of course you would have got it, you deserved it.
Armaan-I know and afterall my lucky charm was with me.
Ridhima-Lucky charm?
Armaan-You, my love… I'm so lucky to have you in my life. I wouldn't have made it without you. Thank you sweetheart…
Ridhima-You're always welcome.
Armaan's pager suddenly buzzed and he walked away in hurry.
In all his excitement, he failed to notice Ridhima's disappointment with herself. He was so happy for himself that he forgot to share Ridhima's sorrow for not being the chosen one. And Ridhima kept pretending to be extremely happy for him. But how could Armaan not see through her mind?
With the additional responsibility, Armaan was busier than ever. The nuero surgeries took nearly the entire day and he spent the nights scheduling the next day's surgeries for all the interns and the residents.
Armaan knew about Ridhima's conclusion and he agreed to Dr. Shashank's solution about practicing both the fields before making a decision. And since he was the Chief Resident, he appointed her for cases from both the fields and therefore, Ridhima's work-pressure wasn't low either. To add more to it, Armaan had forgotten his health and food as usual, in his daily schedule and hence, his food and health added up to more pressure for Ridhima. Armaan never had his coffee breaks or lunch breaks with their gang as he was always caught up with scheduling cases and surgeries. Ridhima spent half of her lunch break making Armaan eat and then she went to the cafeteria to get something to eat for her.
She entered the cafeteria and found Atul and Anjali talking something serious. She decided to not interrupt and went to get her lunch. By the time she turned around with her lunch, she saw Anjali in deep thought and disturbed while Atul was missing. She went towards her to know what was wrong with her.
Ridhima-Di… Are you okay? Kya hua?
Anjali-Huh… Kuch nahi…
Ridhima-Kya hua Di? Tell me… You're looking so upset…
Anjali-Kuch nahi Ridz… Forget it…
Her tone had turned rude now…
Ridhima-Di please… Tell me… May be I can help…
Anjali-How can you help when you are the reason Ridz?
Ridhima-What?
Anjali-Please Ridz… Don't pretend now…
Ridhima-Maine kya kiya Di?
Anjali-I know tum Armaan ki wife ho but that doesn't mean he keeps supporting and favouring you all the time?
Ridhima-Favouring?
Anjali-Yes favouring… You get all good cases in gynecology and Pediatrics… Atul is also specializing in Pediatrics but why do you keep getting the better cases… I can understand Armaan giving you the cases he works in so you guys get to be together but he gives you a lot of cases Atul should be handling too… Just because you sleep with him and just because he has the power doesn't mean he has to keep granting you with everything…
Ridhima-Di… Say anything but don't even think of insulting my relationship with Armaan…
Anjali-Really? Then why doesn't he think of his relationship with Atul and me?
Ridhima-Armaan hasn't even thought of favouring me or being partial to me… He has been fair… And I know you aren't going to believe it but that is a fact… He is just helping me out to choose what I want to do… If you would have been facing the same problem, then he would have helped you out too… And I'm warning you again Di; you have NO right to comment on the relationship we share… It's none of your business…
She walked out of the cafeteria with a heavy heart… She was so hurt with Anjali's words… How could she even think that Armaan was favouring her? How did she even think of defining Armaan's and her relationship in such a disgraceful manner?
Only her heart knew the distance that had been created between Armaan and her in the past few weeks. Ever since he was appointed as the Chief Resident, he had forgotten everything but work… He didn't come home for a few days altogether. Sometimes, he just met her at the hospital for 5 or 10 minutes and then got back to his busy schedule… The conversations had reduced to post-its and text messages and so had the physical contact… She didn't remember the last time she had had a decent conversation with him or even a short little kiss… She knew that it wasn't his fault only; even she was responsible for the distance as she was also trying to handle two jobs at the sametime… Probably, their times never matched… But both of them had this understanding, love and affection for each other that kept them going and hence they never complained. But right now, she needed him. She just needed him to hug her, to kiss her and stop her from crying.
She went around looking for him and found out that he was in surgery and so she consoled herself and got back to work. The patients were enough for her to distract her from Anjali's words but she preferred to avoid her throughout the day and so did Anjali…
Ridhima got free from her duty at around 9 and she thought she would go home for the night but she wanted to be close to Armaan today… She went looking for him again but found him in a meeting with all the attending doctors. She sent a text message to him saying:
Please come home tonight. I really need you today! See you soon! <3
She went back home and did all the daily chores waiting for Armaan to come back. She was eager and anxious to talk to him. She changed into her Minnie Mouse top and Pajamas and settled to read a surgical text book on pre-mature babies and she didn't know when she fell asleep studying it.
She woke up in the middle of the night to realize Armaan didn't come back home today too… She called him up on his cell phone but it was switched off. Hence, she called the hospital and the receptionist told her that Armaan was probably asleep in the on-call room. She was irritated, angry and frustrated. She immediately woke up, pulled her pajamas off and wore her jeans and left the house with her car keys and stuffing some money and cellphone into her pocket.
She reached the hospital and asked a wardboy about Armaan's whereabouts. The wardboy told her that he just got free from a surgery half an hour back and headed to the on-call room for some sleep before his next surgery in 3 hours…
She felt guilty about being angry at him for not returning home. His schedule was too jammed to come home and he had been working for 16 continuous hours and hence needed some sleep.
She entered the on-call room to find him sleeping. The On-call room was a small room provided for doctors who remain on-call for the entire day. It had a few bunk-beds with pillows and blankets and a vending machine for food and eatables. Surprizingly, the on-call room was empty that night. Armaan was sleeping on one of the bunk-beds on the lower berth. His shirt buttons were undone probably because he was feeling hot. She decreased the temperature of the air-conditioner and got into the same bed where he was sleeping. It was a little uncomfortable as it was meant for only one person but she didn't care; she had to be close to him. It was probably the warmth of each other that she fell asleep immediately in Armaan's embrace and Armaan, unknowingly got into a peaceful slumber.
After a while, Armaan's sleep got a little disturbed as he couldn't move easily. He sensed some weight on top of him and a cold hand under his shirt on his chest. He opened his eyes to find Ridhima sleeping with half her weight on his chest. He smiled as he looked at her fast asleep. He suddenly realized that he hadn't watched her sleep in a long time now. He extended his hand forward to look at the time on his cellphone which was placed on the table next to the bed. He saw a missed call and a message from Ridhima. He was so busy the entire day that he forgot to even look at his cellphone. He read the message and felt a little guilty. Now, he understood why he found Ridhima sleeping on him right now and also understood the reason behind wearing her Minnie Mouse night-suit top to hospital. He simply adored the innocence and the little kid in Ridhima.
Suddenly, his pager buzzed and Ridhima woke up with the noise.
Armaan-Sorry Basket, I didn't want to wake you up.
Ridhima got up and Armaan got up too. He started buttoning up his shirt which Ridhima took over. She then fixed his hair with her fingers. Armaan smiled and walked out in a rush.
Ridhima was a little disappointed; she wanted to give him a small kiss before he left but he didn't give her that chance. The very next moment, her pager buzzed too and she was off for her duty.
She scanned Armaan's schedule for another week and she decided to not bother him with her fight with Anjali. She would handle that on her own.
The next few days passed in the same manner. The only difference was that whatever cases related to Pediatrics which Armaan gave Ridhima to be handled, she passed them all to Atul. Atul, who was also unaware of Anjali and Ridhima's fight found this very strange but he was more than willing to handle those cases which made him learn so much.
Ridhima also passed on the case she was handling along with Armaan about the pregnant woman with a nuerological disored to Atul. She had worked really hard on studying the various pre-mature baby problems but that didn't matter. She decided that she would conduct the C section delivery of the baby and hand it over to Atul who would take care of the baby and Armaan would takeover the mother for her nuero surgery.
Ridhima had guided Atul about the various complications of the case and hence he was also going to scrub in with Ridhima and Armaan during the surgery.
Armaan was very confused with this decision made by Ridhima. He knew how much Ridhima and he had discussed this case for the mother and the baby both. But then, he thought, she knew what she was doing and didn't comment on her decision.
The C section was brilliantly handled by Ridhima and Dr. Shashank and Dr. Kirti couldn't help but compliment her on her brilliant job in the Operation Room (OR). Atul tookover the little baby boy and looked out for all the precautions for the pre-mature baby. But Atul panicked as he saw the baby that the baby wasn't cryong. He tried pumping oxygen through the baby's mouth but it didn't work. Ridhima saw Atul's attempts failing and she immediately rean to the baby and carried out the necessary procedures. The baby's lungs were blocked and hence the baby needed surgery immidiately which was supposed to be done by Ridhima according to Dr. Kirti's orders and she proved herself once again by saving the baby's life too.
During the brain surgery, Dr. Shashank and Dr. Kirti were generally talking about Ridhima and her progress in both the fields.
Shashank-Dr. Kirti, don't you think Ridhima did a marvelous job today?
Kirti-Yes sir, I completely agree with you. But I don't understand why did she give up on the baby in the beginning when she knew she could do it herself? I think she is also doing pediatrics right? She would prove to be an excellent pediatrician.
Shashank-Yes, I believe too…
Kirti-But recently, she has given up all her pediatric cases to Dr. Atul.
Shashank-Then I think that she has decided to take up Gynac only. Looks like she isn't confused anymore, is she Armaan?
Armaan didn't know what to say. According to him, she was still interested in Pediatrics and he wasn't even aware of her passing on her cases to Atul. He was sure if she was sure on her decision, then she would have told him. He needed to talk to her.
Armaan just nodded when Shashank asked him again and changed the topic immediately as he didn't want Shashank to assume any kind of communication gap existing between Ridhima and him.
By the time Armaan finished his surgery, Ridhima had already headed home. He needed to speak to her today and since his schedule was clear today, he decided to take a break and go home.
He used his keys to come home as he thought Ridhima might have gone to sleep since it was past mid-night. He saw Ridhima lying down on the couch, watching television. A closer look at the television told him that she was watching their honeymoon video.
Ridhima was wearing her Snoopy top. That night-suit had a pair of pajamas but Ridhima didn't like them, and the top was very long which came upto a little above her knees and hence she preferred wearing only the top. He noticed that she had got herself waxed too. Her hair was tied in a messed up pony-tail.
She noticed Armaan walk in through the front door. He came and sat next to her head on the couch. Normally, she would have just put her head on his lap and he would have caressed her forehead for sometime. But suddenly, it didn't seem the right thing to do. She put the television off and got up.
Ridhima-Go freshen up and go to sleep. We have to wake up early tomorrow.
Armaan holds her and stops her from leaving from there.
Armaan-Wait, I want to talk.
Ridhima was suddenly elated. She was waiting for a day like this since so long where Armaan would come to her and talk to her, listen to her and be there for her.
She gave him a big smile and sat down next to him and put her head on his shoulder.
Armaan-Ridhima, have you already decided about your speciality?
Ridhima-No Armaan, I'm still confused. If I would have then I would have told you right?
Armaan-That's what I thought too but it seems that I was wrong.
Ridhima-What do you mean?
Armaan-Why didn't you tell me that you were passing on today's case to Atul? Why didn't you tell me that you have been passing on all your Padiatrics cases to Atul? Why have you only been practicing gynac since so long? I'm okay if you pass on the cases to him… I'm okay if you don't tell me before that but I atleast deserve to know. Everyone thinks you have already made a choice. Papa and Dr. Kirti were asking me today if you have made your choice and I didn't know what to say. What would they think of us? That we don't communicate and we don't even bother to tell each other the most important decision of our lives? There was a time when you never hid anything from me. What has happened to you know?
Ridhima-Armaan… Stop it… Stop accusing me for everything. I didn't want to hide anything from you. You were the one who didn't have any time for me. You were the one who was so involved with your cases and patients that you failed to notice everything I was going through.
Ever since the day you got appointed as the Chief Resident, you have forgotten to look out for me. You were so happy the day you got selected for the post that you shared your happiness with me but you forgot to share my grief about the fact that I didn't get selected. I was also competing for the post. I wasn't jealous of you Armaan and you know that but I wanted to share my disappointment with someone but I forgot my failure and sorrow just because I wanted to be happy for you but you didn't even notice Armaan? How did you not notice? You always do…
When your workload increased due to the new position, you stopped taking care of yourself. You didn't eat properly, you didn't sleep properly. I was looking after all of your daily needs including my work. You know how difficult it was for me to practice in 2 fields, inspite of that. But you didn't even think of me or my workload even once. All you could have done was understand me and taken care of yourself. I love taking care of you and looking after you but even I get tired at the end of the day.
Armaan realized that he had definitely taken Ridhima for granted in the last few weeks.
Ridhima-Today, you faced an awkward position in front of Papa and Dr. Kirti, so you came back home after 5 days accusing me about how I don't communicate with you but Armaan, don't you realize that the communication has reduced. We don't talk anymore. Did you try to even find out the reason about why was I forwarding all my cases to Atul, You also know how hard I had worked on this pre-mature baby today. Inspite of that, I gave it to Atul. Do you know why? Do you know I had a fight with Anjali Di 3 weeks back and I'm still not talking to her? Do you now she accused me for being your whore and that's why you favoured me with the best gynac and pediatric patients. Do you realize that I have no one to share these things with since my husband and my sister are neither by my side?
A few tears escaped her eyes as she blurted out all her frustrations together and then she broke down. She sobbed. She cried.
Armaan wanted to just go there and hug her but he was too guilty of whatever she went through because of him. He felt like punishing himself so much for not being there for her when she needed him the most. Inspite of going through so much, she never complained even once. He wondered how this woman had so much strength to pull through all this together and still not complain. She could have picked up a fight with him at any point of time. But she always understood his emotions, his pressure, his career, his workload, his health and everything about him.
Ridhima-I tried to tell you all this. I really did. But you were very busy. When you didn't come home that day inspite of my message, I came to the hospital because I needed you. I just needed to feel you by my side. But you didn't notice my pain then also. I looked at your schedule and I decided not to bother you with Di's and my problem and handle it myself. That's why I was giving away all those cases to Atul.
Armaan couldn't take it anymore. He went and gave her the tightest possible hug ever. She continued crying in his arms. She had a feeling of relief now. She was happy to let out everything and be in his arms again. They both stayed like this for a little while letting out the turmoil of emotions they had gone through right now.
Ridhima-I missed you Armaan. I really missed you.
Armaan-But I didn't miss you. You were always there for me but I wasn't there for you.
Ridhima-You know, in all this mess, I don't even remember our last kiss. I can't remember when I kissed you last. I've tried living our past moments so many times in the past few days but I just cant get to remember it.
A few more tears escaped her eyes. Armaan wiped the tears out one by one…
Armaan-It was a Wednesday morning. And you had just come out from your shower wearing your favourite purple bra with a towel wrapped around your body. You're hair were wet and you smelt like some kind of a flower. I was reading the newspaper, or rather pretending to read the newspaper but I was looking at you get ready but suddenly, my stupid pager buzzed and I had to leave for Sanjeevani. So, I came to you and kissed you. It was a quick one and a soft one. But it was enough for both of us to think of during the day. And then I left.
Ridhima was astounded at this detailed memory of his. It was almost like she lived it again. She looked at him surprisingly while a tear made a way again through her eyes.
Armaan- And that certainly wasn't our last kiss.
And he claimed his lips on hers once again.
