OMG - Chill guys ... It's just a show. JUST A SHOW!!!!
Why can't ppl have healthy dicussions here without bringing characters, and their flaws, personal lives, and those of the authors, and their cats and dogs' into this?????
Someone commented on the show's effects on kids ... I hope to God the kids aren't watching these shows. They should be in bed by 8 :)
As for whether the puch was deserved or not - to each their own opinion. From what I've seen of SR and AR fans, no one's objective and watching the show anymore for the show itself. it's either KW (most SR fans are previous KW fans) or KSG (most AR fans are KSG fans from Kash days).
And in supporting AR or SR, you're either hating on Sid's existence and hence hating KW, or hating KSG's return and hence hating Armaan.
There's a difference b/w the actual ppl and the characters they're playing. Learn and accept to differentiate. If the show causes such heart ache, or ulcer-ish feelings for you, then just DON"T WATCH IT. It's that simple.
I dunno why each team is defending the jodis they support so vehemently - like someone else said - neither CHARACTER is a saint (yes I said character, not actor, I dunno about their personal lives). Sid married a girl who'd rather die than marry him - literally frog marched her to the mandap. Armaan up and leaves everytime instead of facing the music and quite honestly has let R ride rough shod over him one too many times. Mostly, though, he's had the sucker hat on since he came back - he coulda opened up his eyes and put the clues together - I understand it was the unthinkable for him and R is ALMOST always mad at him for one reason or another (basing it on the past 2 years) but he shoulda been more ... observant. Similarly, Sid went over board, and not just with the pics but when he hid the truth from his mom the first time around and then he topped it by asking R to fake being someone else's wife (I realize his intent was to help, but he's her HUSBAND for crying out loud. Respect the sanctity of the pheres you made). BUT Jeez - it's all part of the show !!!! Don't hate on anyone!!!
I liked the punch, BUT not coz I like KSG or hate KW. I'm a fan of BOTH their acting and actually have enjoyed scenes b/w the two MORE THAN SR or AR scenes since they're both really talented actors.
I liked the punch coz the show needed an "umph". Otherwise, it was the same old dupattas, same old eye locks, same old mother in law hates daughter in law (didn't know she was one then, yes I know) and meek submissive daughter in law.
The show's made R and Sid's character undergo huge changes, but the worst was making R so submissive. In my opinion, IF you want to venture down teh road of why and who's fault, it's only one person, and that R. IF you want to venture down that road, I repeat.
So, IMHO - Just chill, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show (if you can - I resort to reading written updates to be honest). I don't think it's going to last much longer anyway. After the way CVs butchered it, there's no salvaging it. Sorry. I used to love this show, really. They've just x-formed it into a saas bahu drama now. All that's missing is some woodoo lady giving R some taweez to make Armaan fall out of love with the crazy music in the background ...
Again, don't hate on me - I'm stating facts. And one of them is - Everyone has a right to their opinion. Start respecting everyone's opinion.
In the words of my favorite Jedi - "you'll just have to learn to live with his opinion then."
