I don't find the 21st century is providing too much for women, yes they can get the education but the respect is still not present. You might say they are on par with men but how many of them? Bartz is right saying even some educated women face cruelty...I have seen cases happening in front of my eye...You can barely change the fact that the world is still male-dominant, where comes arguement male use the physical strength and boom! with a slap or what-so-ever the respect of women drops immediately to a full on zero scale...

No doubt males are usually the breadwinner even nowadays as some female might need to sacrifies the job for the family and kids, maybe then people will say why educate the women if they only stay at home? but then who made them stay at home? why not ask the male to take up the mother role and tidy up the house and nurture the kids? oh well then you say it's against the natural habitant lol... i might be stretching too far but see the marriage system itself , in india the girl sacrifices the whole family to adjust in a new one...why not vice versa? ... what if the girl is the only good to care for her parents? .... aren't you doing injustice then?...

Even the abusive language is intended towards female lol... don't get me going about it... so yea it might not be like before but it's not too different from before also....

I think there is no sacrifices......people just do adjestment to live!😃 a person who sacrifices always becoms a sadist. If your closeone goes on talking to you and says that "I have sacrificed myself for you," she/he will torture you...... If the lover/hus/wf goes on saying to the wife/gf tht "I am sacrificing," he/she will be a sadistic torturer. He/she will torture because sacrifice is just a trick to torture the other...If always think about sacrifice...how can you help others !?😊

oh well well i miss out the part where even before marriage some parents will start to give "lectures" like you are suppose to behave like this not that ... do not talk much and listen ... do not argue do not tell your view...so u will lead a good life... i mean cmon ... can they really lead a good life being a dummy? what's the meaning of life then? Whenever i see family or husband supporting the female into their passion be it music, dance or anything ... some might even support their wives to study as much as they want n pursue the career they want.... i salute to them as they know the value of lives....the equality of lives...

Women defenitely make more sacrifices than men, provided that they choose to follow the road not taken 😛 i.e. choose to pursue their dreams, no matter how ambitious or faraway it may seem.

All the talk about 'living in the 21st century' and 'progress' is just major bullshit. It is as tough for a woman as it was 20 years ago, it's just that nowadays people don't accept this bias publicly. It's all underneath. Be it the workplace, the home, the social circle - the outlook hasn't changed much.

Like Bartz said, we have a long way to go before we can confidently said that men and women are actually equal. It would be highly unfair and ignorant to claim otherwise. A woman entrepreneur is scrutinized 100 times more than a man, is this what we call progress?

Well the topic is who makes a greater sacrifice ?

I would say both as sacrifices are basically individual.

I know a girl who gives quite a fair bit of money to both her parents, The good for nothing sons although better educated hardly give much. And yet the mother keeps talking more about the son and tries to make excuses for them.

Some parents are blind too.

Those with a low self esteem feel the need to subjugate others as this feeds their ego. It works for both genders. to have a balanced outlook one needs to have healthy self esteem & the means to maintain it. I ve got to agree with Batz that women have it tougher due to pressure from society , though there are exceptions & I know of men who are victims of their wifes tantrums not due to any social pressure but bcoz of their meekness & lack of confidence. There are lot of factors responsible for this but a child's upbringing plays a major role in defining oneself.
