The author has drawn her inspiration from Lady Macbeth when she portrayed her ghosts coming to consume Arf's mom. ….....She starts hallucinating in the closed room with her daughters. Excellently done ......... this was what reminded me of Lady Macbeth who saw blood on her hands. Well Shakira (Arfeen's mother) sees the fire of hell coming towards her..."
An excellent analogy and to the point…Yes it is assuming Shakespearean shades…And all the more commendable, the Act stands.
Why? Why does Saba accept this situation? Why this defeatist attitude? She had spunk before so why didn't she forge ahead and make some life on her own? Or is that an impossible scenario? I haven't understood that..."
A very interesting point… This would have been the possible course in real life, but again this is Author's prerogative to decide the course, and not implausible at that.
@ Arwen
".... the emplyer cd have set her up with another one that matched saba's qualifications but when her employer asked her questions ... saba said that she is not educated and other such stuff so i think this has more with her wanting to cut of every single link with he past than a lack of any oppurtunities ......"
A good explanation for the present state. But she must have faced some difficulty with present employer too, which must have taken her to Arfeen's employment… or to augment the income she might have changed the job… again not wishing to use her other skills which connects her to the past.
skepy author loves tragedies it seems, like me 😉😉😉😉....... u know why i can sometimes understand this quiteness...of saba........i can actually think like her,i still feel that for saba to not pursue a good career etc.....could be something to do with her deepest love for arfeen,as samrath had said in his replies once.....even sending sara to arfeen was also more for arfeen, than sara...........so am still waiting.as per my big reply about all this has to wait till tuesday,Originally posted by: skeptical
The author was an English teacher in your school..................????????? 😲 😲 😲 😲 😲 😲
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! Then why does she show Saba being so defeatist. Now I'm pulling my hair out of my scalp............................ 😭 😭 😭 😭
Adil:
Another well etched character and finely acted by the actor for most of the part. The actor is intense and effective as the silent third angle. He is reminding me of Jackie Shroff (again in absence of other reference), who, like him, has played a silent third angle in latest version of Devdas [as Chandrababu].(thank god there was something good in other devdas..i considered a it a personal insult by sanjay leela banshali😉...to shartchander, imagine in that era ghar ki bahu dancing with a tawaif..and frame to frame copy of death scene from bimal roy movie..totally crap...sorry got carried away ..but performances by 2 was good jackie and madhuri) He is doing good justice to the role.yes he is doing whatever is required by the director. Most of time silent portrayl,he is good actor, but this serial has exceptional actors too so his talent gets a little less light. But for his role he suits a lot.have to mention that a friend of mine considers him very handsome in his own way.....hmmm do i think same....can't tell 😆
Character- He is honest and unfazed when truthful. He is not afraid of Taima or Tau but diffident to the wishes of his mother. Yes i love his this quality,in reality he is true sanskari insaan...he has all good virtues in him ..parents ki respect, yet understanding people's deep cunning minds too, he knows what kind of woman his tai ma is,and knows hwo tai ma disaprooves saba's education and behaviour.
Somehow he is feeling inferior to Saba's higher faculties and is reluctant in expressing his love directly. For instance he attempts to propose through mother but then allows Taima's meddling. And as only second male offspring of the clan I would have loved more scenes of bonding between two cousins.i wanted that too,but with kind of pace the serial has i think they never had time, but hopefully we will see one scene between him and arfeen once arfeen knows the truth.I think he had this genuine respect and affection for saba, his ability to understand people deeply helped him here, thats why he chose conventional approach and once his mom put a condition he realized parents r very very important (which should be the case i feel most of the time ).I think he was very well educated too just chose a more regional attire ,very common in pakistan ,way he talked seem to suggest that to me.
But I have slight difference of opinion on his actions. Though he is consistent in his character his one moment of wavering has contributed considerably to Saba's downfall, however indirectly and if not deliberately. When he allows his mother to make him run away he is leaving Saba entirely on her own and to the mercy of the pack (including Gun wielding Tau). And see the damage. Arfeen's single most vexation is his flight which was supporting Taima's scenario. Of course this too is a thematic need of the plot and Author's prerogative to continue the narrative (as he deems it fit). There would have been a very different scenario, if He would have stayed and countered Taima's allegations with truthful description of the circumstances.I know it was his moment of failure, his mom gave him her sar ki kasam and he let her do that ,her fear of possible killing by the tau who was mad in furry .I think still even his staying there wouldnt have mattered much to any oen ,it could have caused more trouble in my opinion in creating too many fights and feuds.and i feel reason for saba's plight was more due to her absent father..if he was there he wouldnt have found such terrible match for her ,who had to paid for his favours🤢🤢🤢🤢 by her tau. If that would have not yielded enough influence over Arfeen (in view of his reverence to mother), at least Saba's own family would have been far less susceptible in casting her away so cruelly. Besides he would not have any hesitation in taking counter oath and Taima's witness substantially mitigated. But then we would not have this Tale to read.yes its author's way of showing human reaction to things.....😃and story does need to be told ......
His subsequent actions deserve full praise. On his return he has not yielded an inch. He is unwavering hence forth. True friend to Saba in putting forward brave pleas to Arfeen (knowing Saba's love to him, he prefers this as a first try then his own proposal). And most natural refusal to Taima's diabolic schemes later on.i really loved him for both, putting saba forward ,and even before when his own heart was broken,he was still a good friend to saba ,always helping ,doing things for her.
His continued presence is an interesting watch and there may be some chance of interaction between him and Sara at her present disappearance.Yes I really hope so , I want them to show some emotional interaction with sara, she already likes him as per her conversation with arfeen on one occasion.
i loved his analysis of tai ma's trip to mecca .He was very effective in that scene. His refusal to help aasiya after her divorce was also done very convincingly. He should have had more importance in story line, but as we do know author has her love for arfeen and saba's love story so we would get that ...
